I was looking through some of my files today, and came across this list of songs for the series Soulmate, sorted by episode. (I’d found it compiled on a Korean site when first watching the drama, and translated the list.) Those of you who’ve been reading this site for a while know how much I ADORE SOULMATE. Until Flowers For My Life came along earlier this year, it was my favorite all-time drama; now they both share that spot.

Soulmate is also a series that makes serious use of its music; Coffee Prince doesn’t hold a candle to it. CP uses music very well, but it’s rarely a story point; Soulmate lives and breathes music. Songs are woven into the series not only as well-timed background music, but thematically as well. Each episode is, furthermore, titled after a song that is used at some point (with some significance) in the series.

Notice: kdrama scripts are back up!

To be honest, I briefly considered taking down all files on this site because of ongoing frustration with certain persons and/or sites and server overloads. But whatever; I got over it and re-upped all the scripts, and added some new ones.

Among the new scripts are:

Another boring blog admin post.

I’ve banned some IPs from this site. I was looking through my apache error logs and was a bit alarmed to see persistent attempts to access unauthorized parts of my server. I hope I’m not misinterpreting the data, but from what I could tell, some people in China really, really, REALLY want my Coffee Prince songs. From my limited ability to surf Chinese sites, I think someone went and posted direct song links on a highly trafficked Chinese forum, which goes a long way to explaining server overload issues. Ever since I made changes to limit access, I’ve been getting pounded with thousands of attempts to hack in to grab the files.

Note: I am NOT restricting them to be mean. The alternative is that I take the files down completely and stop providing any music altogether. Okay, you’ve done and pissed me off. Coffee Prince songs are down. They will be down until I figure out a good way to put them back up or stop being mad, whichever comes first.

So: If I’ve inadvertently banned valid IPs, shoot me an email, although I doubt it because I only banned IPs that had attempted unauthorized access at least a hundred times. Sankyoo.

Edited to add: Media Temple rocks. Their support and hosting services are top-notch, and they’ve made my life ever so much less frustrating. In fact, if not for their level of helpful support, I’d have been sorely tempted to throw in the towel on numerous occasions. Never once have they made me feel stupid, although believe me I’ve felt it plenty of times.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to take Coffee Prince direct song links down. You can still download all the songs via batch links, but I said when the direct links killed my site I’d have to kill the links. Both died tonight, and the site is reviving without the links. I don’t know if someone linked to them somewhere but I got an incredibly sudden, drastic spike that completely disabled my server and I had to reconfigure some settings to get back online.
