At this point, there’s really no point in getting excited about another Andre Kim runway show, but his latest one features Bae Soo-bin, whom I know many of you love, so here goes!

The show was held on the evening of September 15 under the title “Starry Night in the Palace.” (I suppose the opulent designs are supposed to evoke royal imagery, but really, it’s not new to this show; we’ve all seen this before.) The show featured, aside from Bae, actress Jang Seo-hee (Wife’s Temptation).

Jeon Ji-hyun (or Gianna Jun) received an invitation to the Chanel haute couture collection in Paris, which she attended on July 7.

The invitation was extended by Chanel’s head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld; Jeon hobnobbed among some of the event’s elite, which included royalty, Chinese actress Zhou Xun, and French actress Anna Mouglalis, a Chanel muse who also played Coco in the 2009 film Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky. Jeon arrived wearing a black chiffon Chanel dress; her Paris trip will be featured in the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar Korea.

Cinderella Man

There’s only one fashion-themed show on the air right now — MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday Cinderella Man — but soon, we’ll have three. KBS and SBS are also following the trend with fashion-themed dramas of their own.

First will be KBS, who will follow the current romantic comedy Accidental Couple with their series Magazine Allo (working title). The plot revolves around an outsider to the glossy fashion-mag biz, who comes in to work at Allo magazine and does her best to survive in the new competitive work culture (so… Devil Wears Prada meets Ugly Betty?) This drama will be a Wednesday-Thursday series and premieres on June 24.

Normally I wouldn’t be terribly interested in yet another repetitive, recycled Andre Kim “fashion” show — and I use that term loosely — but hot dayum, this couple is stunning together.

Usually, Andre Kim’s chosen celebs just trot down the runway with blank expressions, wearing billowing curtains of material to perform the obligatory kiss-on-forehead maneuver. But this time, the couple is Kim Joon (Boys Before Flowers) and Jang Nara (Wedding), and they look mighty fine as a couple.
