Here’s a peek at the summer horror flick Scary Story 2, or what I like to call Shut Up And Kick the Flower Boy Next Door at Christmas. It’s a six-way dramaland reunionpalooza for White Christmas boys Sung Joon and Lee Soo-hyuk, Flower Boy Next Door’s adorable webtoon artist/editor couple Go Kyung-pyo and Kim Seul-gi, and High Kick’s housemates Baek Jin-hee and Kim Ji-won.

All right, there’s a new horror flick out there called Scary Story 2, and for any other reason it would sound forgettable and bland… except for its cast, which is chock-full of promising up-and-comers.

First off we have Sung Joon (Can We Get Married, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, White Christmas), whom I’d wager on as becoming a prime contender for Bright Leading Man of the Future. He’s been cast as the lead in the movie, which is the sequel to an original I’ve never heard of. But no matter, since we’ve got a much more interesting cast this time around.

We all knew that this moment of truth would come; we just didn’t know how painful it would be. In this final chapter, it’s curtains on Jae-hee’s charade and she’ll need to jump the highest hurdle yet: reality. And just when you think she’s alone in all of this, we see that there are those willing to put their own necks at risk to protect her. Sad as it may be, it’s time to close the gates to Genie High.

The series finished off its final week with 4.1% and 5.2% ratings for its last two episodes.

Woah. If that doesn’t grab your attention, I don’t know what will. Confessions come spilling out left and right as characters all face their feelings head-on. As each day passes, Jae-hee edges that much closer to her cover being blown wide open. It’s going to be hard keeping a rumor tamped down for long – a ticking time bomb waiting for the inevitable.

This is an angst train I can get on but no one said that it would be a smooth ride.

Yay! We finally get some rich character development in this series. Better late than never, right? You’d be dead wrong if you think that you’ll find progress in either of our leads. No, no – this episode is full of epic win for Hyun-jae who learns that some things in life like friendship, love, and forgiveness are far better and more satisfying than winning.

Funny how all it takes is three simple words to change your world. At least they’re enough to bring you out of a daze just long enough for another declaration to throw you for a loop. Tae-joon learns that nicety can only get you so far and Jae-hee realizes that perhaps she can still be useful after all. Can a friendship sustain this kind of love triangle?

Eureka – this show actually can churn out a solid episode from start to finish! We get TWO love confessions packed into one hour and a whole ton of cute that will make you grin from ear to ear. Truth is out to the person Jae-hee least expected and now stakes are raised to keep that secret under wraps. I never thought I’d say this about this drama but the angst… it just hurts so good.

Ratings picked up for Thursday’s episode to 5.8%. You may be behind, but keep it up drama.
