Looks like Full House 2 is going ahead with recasting, rather than working out conflicts with previously cast leads Noh Min-woo and Hwang Jung-eum. Now Min Hyo-rin (Sunny, Romance Town) is a leading contender for the female lead, according to reps who confirmed that she received the offer and is considering it.

Also, we finally get the teeniest detail about the plot of the sequel: Full House 2 follows the romance between a poor but plucky aspiring reporter and a top star, who get caught up in a fake engagement. So, pretty much a copy of the original, where Song Hye-gyo was an aspiring internet novelist/screenwriter, and Rain a top star, and the two actually got contract-hitched in a supposed marriage of convenience that really wasn’t all that convenient.

Although, I’ll be impressed if they reverse the roles this time and make the hero the poor, plucky writer and the heroine the top star. Why do I have the feeling that’s not gonna happen?

Plot unoriginality aside, I actually think this could be a good move for Min Hyo-rin, who’s been climbing in visibility as an actress. For a long while she was pretty much a CF and photo-shoot fixture without making much headway in her singing career; she’s still got ad contracts everywhere, but now her career’s really picking up as well. She scored with the hit movie Sunny, as well as a second-lead role in Romance Town. (Her debut drama, Triple, wasn’t much of a success although I still think it helped her more than not, since she had nothing to lose.)

Interesting that Full House 2 is already scheduled to air in Japan on channel TBS next March, while it still lacks a timeslot in Korea.

The period heist comedy Gone With the Wind has completed its round-up of Joseon-era thieves: Min Hyo-rin (Romance Town, Triple) joins the star-studded cast.

The movie stars Cha Tae-hyun (Speedy Scandal) as its ringleader of ice thieves (heh). It boasts premium supporting actors Kim Jung-tae (Miss Ripley) and Sung Dong-il (Chuno), and is a mini-reunion of Hello Ghost’s cast with teddy-bear ajusshi Go Chang-seok and young Chun Bo-geun.

We’re nearing the end! There may be a lot of threads to close, but I think this drama has been chugging along nicely to the end. We’re going to get some closure, and some satisfaction. I’m most amazed at the fact that we get one more twist our way so late in the series. It’s really amazing how the writer keeps changing people’s fates every week.

The revenge is ON! This episode was way better because for one thing, there was far less crying, whining, and greediness going around. Everyone’s reached a somewhat secure and happy place. But some fortunes are still reversing, as the rich families of 1st Street are still suffering. On top of that, I call this episode the redemption of Soon Geum’s father.

Aggravation, then satisfaction. Tearing my hair out, then putting it back on my scalp. This drama has been so badly titled now; it really should have been called ‘Maids’ because that’s all this drama is about. Or they should have called it ‘Money Town’ or ‘Bread and Roses,’ because where the hell is the ‘Romance’ in this drama!?

AHHH THE MONEY! AHHH THE MONEY! Yeah – that’s really my only worry going into this episode. The characters? Screw them – they’re all screwed anyways. AHHH THE MONEY…!!

It’s ridiculous (in a good way) how this money just pretty much ruined everyone’s lives in this episode, in logical, physical, and emotional ways.
