Sometimes you hear about people like the guy who got hurt after trying to hug a panda bear and you think, “Oh, people are so stupid, they’re called panda BEARS for a reason!” And then you see pictures like this of Song Hye-gyo (The World They Live In, Full House) hugging a panda and it makes you totally want to commit similar acts of stupidity.

The actress has been named first ever goodwill ambassador on behalf of pandas worldwide (and “panda ambassador” has got to be the awesomest job title ever). She visited a panda reserve located in Sichuan, China, on June 4. The panda she is pictured holding is approximately 8 to 9 months old.

Whoaaa. Check out this new still from the vampire film Thirst [박쥐], which recently confirmed that it will be screening at Cannes International Film Festival later this year.

The much-buzzed-about film held its press conference and VIP preview screening on the afternoon of April 24 in Seoul. Given the movie’s high profile (and its director and lead actor), the screening attracted some big names, such as Lee Byung-heon, Jeon Do-yeon, Won Bin, Rain, and Song Hye-gyo.

Lead actor Song Kang-ho, playing the vampire priest who falls for his friend’s wife (Kim Ok-bin), discussed some of the film’s more provocative scenes, one of which serves as the crucial point of the film. He had discussed the scene in some depth with director Park Chan-wook and had no qualms shooting it, as he agreed that it was essential to the story.

Having recently wrapped her latest drama, The World They Live In, which was generally well-received but performed poorly in the ratings, Song Hye-gyo is out with her latest ad campaign.

Levi’s has just released their latest ads featuring the pint-sized actress, who sports their “Lady Style” line of apparel (and some really bad extensions).

Her look is described as being based on a “curvy doll” concept in the new Diamond jeans (the line will be out for sale in mid-February).

Drama PD Yoon Seok-ho was married on Sunday, and wishing him well were, among others, the stars of his famed quartet of “season” dramas: Autumn Fairy Tale, Winter Sonata, Summer Scent, and Spring Waltz. (Although, really, only the Autumn and Winter dramas could be called successes.)

That includes Winter Sonata stars Choi Ji-woo and Park Yong-ha; Autumn Fairy Tale leads Song Seung-heon and Song Hye-gyo; Summer Scent actress Sohn Ye-jin; and Spring Waltz leads Han Hyo-joo and Daniel Henney.

The ceremony for the television-drama director and his hanbok-designer bride, Han Hye-soo, was held in Seoul on the 11th.

Won Bin — who’s kept a low profile in recent months (years, even) — surprised everyone by showing up to the set of The World They Live In to lend some moral support for his former co-star, Song Hye-gyo, and the staff of her current drama.

The series had been filming at one café in the Apgujung neighborhood of Seoul’s Kangnam district when Won Bin made a surprise appearance. As you may know, Won Bin and Song Hye-gyo had starred together in 2000 in the early Hallyu hit melodrama Autumn Fairy Tale, back when both were early in their careers. They’re currently represented by the same management company, and Won Bin is said to be good friends with the drama’s director, PD Kim Kyu-tae. One source said that Won Bin’s presence livened the atmosphere and encouraged them as they worked.

With a month left in the drama and the ratings down in the single digits (hovering around 5%), The World They Live In is at least being recognized for the quality of its writing and production, as well as Hyun Bin’s acting growth.

First of all I would like to thank Javabeans for allowing me to continue the recaps.

I wanted to continue the recaps because I believe this drama is worth watching. It may not be as dramatic, funny or have lots of action like other dramas but it has that reality touch. The couples act like real couples and the characters all have different problems that we sometimes face. I do admit that sometimes the episodes can get a little boring but the story is still good. So folks lets give this drama another chance because it deserves it.

I’ll start on episode 6 now.
