At least she has a day job

The second OST for On Air is out, and so is the track Kim Haneul sings.

The song is cute. Her voice is weak. (It sounds like something indie band Misty Blue could have performed — I would’ve loved to hear it recorded by someone with stronger vocal control.) She can carry a tune, but those high notes are wincingly off-key (what happened to audio correction software?).

Listen for yourselves.

Kim Haneul sings for On Air

Well, her On Air co-stars Park Yong Ha and Song Yoon Ah both have songs on the series soundtrack (see below), so now it’s Kim Haneul’s turn. She’s showcasing her heretofore hidden singing abilities and recording a track to be released on the drama’s second OST.

She explained, “I’ve received so much love because of On Air, I wanted to repay that. This is my first time recording so I’m a little nervous.”

Is she any good, though? The music director thinks so, but we’ll get to form our own opinions when the disc, which contains ten tracks in all — Kim Haneul’s is entitled “Sky Love” — goes on sale tomorrow, April 29.

Coffee Prince Unofficial Soundtrack

Hey guys, I know a few of you (jiangzemin and hua, and perhaps some others) were interested in compiling a full list of all the songs used in Coffee Prince that are not on the soundtrack. Thanks for providing the list from another site — I’ve put up the current song list up on this page. I made it a page under the “SONGS” tab up top ^ for easy navigation. If you find more to add, leave a comment and I’ll update the list.

As I noted, I have a feeling posting these direct links might just be killer for my bandwidth, but I’m gonna give it a try for now. I HAVE, however, provided links to batch files uploaded to sendspace, zshare, and megaupload — please use those links if you can, and leave the direct links for people who aren’t able to download from those sites.

Once again: Song list. Clicky!

Random Song Comparison: DAL JA, AEGISSHI

.
I was listening to the newly released OST for the new show Hello! Miss, which is cute and lively to match the cute and lively show itself. I’m a big fan of music (could you tell?) and drama soundtracks, because I think the songs used in a show do a tremendous job of establishing the atmosphere and reinforcing emotion. Sometimes music is overused or badly applied; but when it’s used well (see: Soulmate, Que Sera Sera), it enhances the experience significantly.

KT Tunstall - “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree”
This was played in Hello! Miss’s Episode 3, briefly. KT Tunstall must be gaining popularity in Korea; Sunday’s episode of Que Sera Sera also included another of her songs, “Suddenly I See.” (Or is she more popular than I think? I always find it weird when someone you know about when they aren’t famous suddenly becomes famous.) This song plays briefly in the scene when Su Ha and Jung Sook start their first day of work.
