Sean and Jung Hye-young, still ridiculously in love

How about something light for a change?

Remember the days of old-school kpop and the pop duo Jinusean?

Well, both Jinu and Sean (aka Noh Seung-hwan) have gone their separate ways professionally, but Sean — who has since gotten married and had a couple adorable kiddies — is now again in the public eye by appearing on a variety program with his wife, Jung Hye-young. They’ll appear on the October 8 broadcast of Gold Fish, displaying their couple-y charm and dishing about life before and since marriage (the appearance also marks the couple’s four-year wedding anniversary).

To give you a taste of the aww-inducing sentiments expressed, Sean told of how “The very existence of my wife thrills me.” Jung Hye-young returned the feeling, saying, “My husband has no faults. I don’t see anything wanting in him.” (Are you gagging — out of affection! — yet? No really, it’s sickeningly sweet, but in a happy sort of way.)

Kwon Sang-woo weds Sohn Tae-young (finally)

After all the hullaballo, Kwon Sang-woo finally married Sohn Tae-young today (September 28), and I for one am glad, since we won’t be having to hear about it anymore.

The couple gave a press conference prior to the wedding, as the wedding itself was closed to the press. Sohn Tae-young wore a Kenneth Pool gown, which she bought on the couple’s recent trip to England.

Kwon: “I’m finally getting married. I’m so nervous — my nerves don’t begin to compare with any film festival or event I’ve been to. … We’ll live happily together. I vow to love her forever.” Sohn: “It doesn’t feel real yet. Actually, I wasn’t nervous at all while getting ready. But now I’m starting to feel it.”

When asked about kids, Kwon answered that he’d like three, but joked that Sohn “has agreed to two, for her figure’s sake.”

And, since it’s not every day such a huge Hallyu star gets married, we have a pretty impressive guest-star roster that rivals the red carpet at some of the largest industry events.

Wedding plans off, drama plans on

Almost-38-year-old actor (39 by Korean standards) Jung Jun-ho had announced his wedding plans following the successful finish of his last drama, the romantic comedy series The Last Scandal of My Life.

Well, the whirlwind romance is over and the wedding is off.

The couple had initially intended to marry this year, but had pushed back plans once already due to Jung’s filming schedule. At the time, he’d explained that the date would be set for early next year, because of his work schedule and also because of the health of his father, who had recently undergone surgery for stomach cancer.

His management company rep didn’t have any further information regarding the cancellation of the engagement, saying, “As this is a private matter, we at the management company are also waiting for his official statement.”

Meanwhile, plans for the second season of The Last Scandal of My Life are still on, with a projected November airdate.

Wedding plans continue for Kwon Sang-Woo

Kwon Sang-woo is taking a cue from popular variety-show host Yoo Jae-seok in planning his upcoming nuptial proceedings.

With only a month and a half till he ties the knot with Sohn Tae-young (retract those claws, ladies), he’s adopting the same rules for the Big Day that Yoo engaged for his recent July wedding. For instance, they’ll conduct a press conference before the ceremony, but the wedding will be closed to press (although photos will be released). The couple plan to hold the press meeting at a separate location from the ceremony locale (Shilla Hotel), and are still debating whether or not to appear wearing their wedding duds.

Furthermore, it was stressed that the couple will not be joining hands with any wedding-industry sponsors (i.e., contracts with particular photo studios, bridal companies, etc.): “Kwon Sang-woo and Sohn Tae-young expressed their desire to avoid having their wedding guests and well-wishers standing in front of a sponsor’s advertisement backdrop to take pictures.”

Another rep for the couple explained their reasoning for closing the ceremony to the media: “It’s a necessary measure to preserve a familial and comfortable atmosphere.”

The couple is scheduled to shoot their wedding photos somewhere in Seoul on September 15; they take their official vows on September 28.

Byul’s Wanted date

More couples show off their relationships openly: On the 24th, solo vocalist Byul posted pictures on her personal homepage of herself with Jeon Sang-hwan of the R&B vocal group Wanted, which were reportedly taken back in September in Los Angeles. They look too cute.

The couple met back in the summer of ‘06 at church and started dating soon afterward; she’s currently promoting her fifth album, “Like a Star.”
