The premiere of “Awkward People”

Actress Han Chae Young debuted onstage in her first theater performance today (Dec. 7; the play runs through next March) in acclaimed director Jang Jin’s “Awkward People,” (read more about the play here). The play is reported to show a delightful, warm sense of humor and quirky dialogue between the two characters — a bungling thief and a bungling middle school teacher.

After the first afternoon performance for the press, the actors and director answered questions at a press conference. Check out more pics from the performance below.

SONG OF THE DAY

Woong San / 웅산 - “I Sing the Blues.” Jazzy Korean blues. Or is it bluesy Korean jazz?

Han Chae Young’s offbeat theatrical debut

Starting on December 7 and running through March 2, 2008, actress (and Korea’s “Barbie Doll” — for her tall, shapely proportions) Han Chae Young begins her performance in the play Inept People [서툰사람들] (alternate translations: “Awkward People,” “Clumsy People”). The play marks Han Chae Young’s debut theatrical role and kicks off the upcoming wave of heated theatrical competition. (Also performing in upcoming plays: high-profile stars Go Soo, Yoo Ji Tae, Hwang Jung Min.)

SONG OF THE DAY

Tensi Love - “Hoo-hoo.” I have no idea what the song title means. Please don’t ask. I would be forced to make up something grossly inappropriate. [ zShare download ]
