Kim Dong Wan rushed to the emergency room

Uh-oh. Shinhwa singer and sometimes actor Kim Dong Wan was rushed to the emergency room after collapsing in the studio while recording for his solo album on the 11th. On the 12th, his management issued the statement:
“While Kim Dong Wan was working on recording for his second album, he suffered from abdominal pains and received emergency treatment at a hospital in Kangnam. He’s currently hospitalized.”
He was diagnosed with acute enteritis (inflammation of the small intestine) and enterostenosis (abnormal narrowing of the intestine) and will likely have to remain hospitalized for several more days to be treated. As a result, it’s unclear whether his upcoming album will continue as planned.
After performing in Shinhwa’s tenth-anniversary concert at the end of March, Kim Dong Wan has been busily recording for his upcoming solo album release. His management explained that he’d felt abdominal pains for a few days, but because his album release date was approaching, he put up with the pain to finish working and overdid things.
Hopefully Kim Dong Wan is up and pain-free soon, but his health aside — the album goes on sale on April 24 and they’re still recording in the studio on April 11??? Talk about pushing it. No wonder the guy was stressed out.

I know they are all trying to release last albums before their enlistment dates but this seems too much! I hope he can rest at least a little so that he could provide us with a great album to hold us over for the time being. I wonder if he's planning another drama before enlistment since he's not going til September?

Heard that he was recording so late because he changed his mind about one of the songs at the last minute. The guy should really take a long, well deserved vacation. He's been out and about since last year, he must've been crazy tired.

and i feel like there are a lot of korean celebs who are following crazy schedules that are detrimental to their health. i feel like i'm always hearing about so and so fainting or getting really sick or suffering from random pains because their jam-packed schedules

OMG poor Kim Dong Wan... he has always been my favorite Shinhwa member, hope he gets better soon! I truly hope that he gets to rest some time after he is released from the hospital, since he is due for enlistment really soon. Thanks for the news Dramabeans.

Wow, Go Ara is super gorgeous in your banner! And I actually like the song accompanying this post O_O. Not a shinwa fan, but they work so hard and no doubt they are talented! I hope he gets well soon. Whats up with all these health problems when it comes to korean stars? I don't seem to find nearly as many reports of collapses, broken bones, etc etc in the american media o_O.

ok i just read from the asiantanatics.net that andy was also sent to the hospital for enteritis too and exhaustion! Seriously, I commend shinhwa members for being diligent hardworkers but please don't be martyrs and risk your health and life! Also, i'm seeing a pattern of cases of enteritis here and my only advise is wash your hands before and after you eat. Also check your food source such as wash your vegetables, meat, etc. and maybe avoid uncooked food for awhile and makes sure your meat is fully cooked but the important thing is handwashing!
