I totally agree with you about Park Shin Yang. What happened to him was grossly unjust but he did win the lawsuit recently to get his pay as his contract stated.

I don't know if he will be able to work now that he won but I sure hope he can. He was given a life time ban by CODA which distributes many of the Korean dramas. He is a very good actor and I've enjoyed his roles in many kdramas. I liked him in Lover in Paris and War of Money.

I don't know - I think a lifetime ban is a bit harsh. Couldn't they have banned him for a number of years? I mean, that's his livelihood. I just don't think the punishment fits the crime.

We cannot just clap our hands and tell him well done! We all know that these stars are human being like all of us, meaning that they can make mistake but we should not forget that some are role models of our sons and duaghters, letting them go will not help them at all. I think the big companies need to save their faces. For me, it is like telling them wake up, here is the right direction. As funs we have to cheer them up, support them instead of blaming them. That's all life is about. We make mistakes and learn from them, but there other people learning from us! The reason why taking drugs as an actor is seen as huge blow, because we see them, love them and they entertain us. Once something kile this happen, you know the rets.....

yes JJH made a serious mistake twice but he did not do it again after....he was named and booked for drug use and have to face the consequences no matter how.......why should these networks announced the banning which is not necessary at all as it is automatic if one is engaged in illegal activity! hope the ban will be lifted sooner.......................as really hope to see his acting and face again .................. :)

well, JJH has to face reality on a brighter side, at least he learn from this big lesson will never do it again....ever....and this will enlighten his future thoughts....korean have to be more forgiven...........let the poor boy repent and restart all over again....stand up...and maybe JJH should enlist for military service since it is about time for JJH............let everything cools off and he can be back again............to see his fans from all over the world not just korea & japan!!!

I'm not in any way saying we condone or applaud his crime. Yes, he is automatically a role model once in the spotlight, but the punishment needs to fit the crime.
Ex. Does one spend a whole life term in prison for theft or are they required to repay, serve an appropriate term, and/ or do community service?

Another: If a child steals candy from a store, do you make him return it and offer an apology to the manager (which is very humbling/ embarrassing), or do you ground him for all of his years until he goes to college?

I wonder what the networks would do if an actor had committed murder. Hmmm... Ban him from the networks for 2 life-terms? The life here on earth, and the life after? My point is that I feel they went to the extreme. Are murder and drug use equivalent? Interesting things to think about...

^ again, it's no use using our own rulers to measure what's befitting the punishment for a crime in Korea, A robber stealing a candy bar can get a bullet in the head in China.

Nobody is saying crimes r equivalent. Mr JJH may not face a trial/prison. A murderer if convicted will surely face a very substantial period behind the bars. So if Mr JJH can still have the option of pursuing his career in another field or elsewhere, walk the streets as a relatively free man, I don't see banning on TV equating these crimes.

TV stations have a image to uphold. Drug users in Korea are not considered as petty 'mistakes' even if we don't agree. Artists got banned on TV for NOT even committing any prosecutable crimes. JJH did offend the law even if he's just used the illicit drug twice. If the public TV stations wanna make a stance against offenders of the law, they can ban him, no question ask, nth even to think/discuss about if u ask me. Move on fans.

Healthy as in having a nice built with some muscles and not looking like the wind can blow his skinny frame away. Healthy as in not taking illegal drugs. Health as in healthier than Joo Ji Hoon. Definitely! Duh....I'd rather see Kim Bum on my tv screen over Mr. Convicted Druggie anyday, lol.

Man, I've been depressed for a while now because of this. It hurts to know you are not going to see your favorite actor. Goong episodes were like therapist sessions for me for a while, but now I am so upset I am not sure I can watch it yet.
Very sad, I hope he will do well in whatever he will choose to do...

It's just a matter of time and goes without saying, but SBS will probably ban him too now that both KBS and MBC have done so. He deserves it. Can't say I feel sorry for JJH.

So many people will do anything for the popularity and success he has, and he decides to screw it all up by doing drugs? ok...w.e. floats your boat man, JJH.
Lets hope people learn from this and realize how much drugs can mess with your life.

If you read my original post I did not say drug use was simply a petty 'mistake'. I actually called for banning of several years (versus a lifetime).

And I did not equate murder with drug use. My point was just the opposite - to raise the question of fairness.
