Opening red carpet at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival

On October 8, the 14th Pusan International Film Festival, or PIFF, opened in Busan. (Yes, the city takes a different official spelling than the film festival. Blame inconsistent Romanization.)
As the largest film festival in Korea, it drew a large list of attendees, as you can see from the long list of red-carpet walkers. It was definitely a star-studded opening night, and even included one familiar Hollywood face (Josh Hartnett).
This year’s PIFF features its largest lineup to date, screening 355 films from 70 countries, and closes on the 16th.
Ha Ji-won (Haeundae) is a goddess, as usual:

Jang Hyuk and Sung Yuri came together to promote their new film Rabbit and Lizard. Sung Yuri is luminous, although I don’t love her dress — but WTF with the hair, Jang Hyuk? He looks like a lion (and not in a good way).
Siiiiiigh, Kang Ji-hwan (Rough Cut):
So Ji-sub (Rough Cut) was recently voted (along with Choi Ji-woo) as having “prettiest hands,” which fans have been saying for years.

I don’t love the color (or the cutout on the chest) on Kim So-yeon‘s (IRIS) dress, but she’s lovely.
It seems that Eom Ji-won (Like You Know It All), top row, and Go Jun-hee (General Hospital 2), bottom, were going for the same look. I think I have to give the edge to Go Jun-hee for a crisper silhouette and more sophisticated cut of the dress.

I have definitely seen this dress on the red carpet before (I remember loving it then, but it loses its impact on the second go-round), but Han Ye-seul (Tazza) always looks fantastic on red carpets.
Park Joong-hoon and his Haeundae co-star Uhm Jung-hwa, who appears to be wearing a sparkly muumuu. And she’s Korea’s sexiest pop queen?
Han Eun-jung (Lawyers of Korea)
What a difference a year makes: Min Hyo-rin (Triple) hardly registered a blip last year. Her drama wasn’t successful, but I think she proved she has acting ability, and I’d like to see more of her in the future.
Add Jung Ryeo-won (Ja Myung Go) to the list of people who look awkward

I think the hot pink clashes harshly with the red carpet, and it hurts my eyes to look at, but the dress looks cute on Choi Kang-hee (Aeja).

Yoo Hana (Sons of Sol Pharmacy) looks adorable… but her co-star Yoo Sun looks like she stepped out of an ’80s nighttime soap. And by that I mean Dynasty.
Last but not least, Wang Seok-hyun (Speed Scandal)! His mom must LOVE dressing him.

Im Soo Jung's photo as the topic starter is perfect! Love her in Happiness and she made I'm a Cyborg watchable. Javabeans, a wonderful sharing as always.
Not a fan of HCY but can't help pity her as the dress is really unflattering and even terrible to look at.
Of course, men of the night -- Lee Byunghun-ssi and Josh Hartnett.. as right as they're there for their film 'I Come With The Rain'.. I'm wishing that BH would walk with the lovely Kim So Yeon instead.. for IRIS.. why not? Not one photo together.. not even at the drama press events.

I don't like the Han ye seul dress. I think her dress is really featureless. I'm a Ha Ji won fans but his dress is not good for me.

Kang Ji Hwan's pic: I have never ever seen another Korean star who looks as good as he does in a suit.
Ha Ji Won, Im Joo Eun, Kim Ha Neul and Jang So Hee look the best out of all of these. Lotsa light-ish colours this time round. I never liked wearing long dresses but they make it look so gorgeous! Jung Ryeo Won looks cute! Seo Woo looks like she fills out her dress a little too well. (If you know what I mean)

Hi everyone! I read all the posts in this morning's email that I got from Dramabeans. I read with much delight all the posts hereon and the comments by everyone really makes me start the day beautifully! I am new to this site, new to korean movies and series and I wish I can exchange emails with everyone.
The korean dvd rental that my friends and I go too gets crazy each time we look for dvd's to rent or buy. (and we are able practice the limited korean words we remember thereat)
Let me say that the comments (don't know what word to use) about the final episode of My Fair Lady I fully agree 100%. I initially watched this series, went through several episodes and then decided to use my time better elsewhere. So I am glad to have read that there are others whose opinion is similar to mine.
On another note, I agree with Samsooki that there is no glimpse of some other stars in this Pusan event, notably Kim Sun Ah and CSW.
This website is wonderful and I think everyone who makes a post and/or who is an avid follower should get the chance to get together and personally rave about korean stars. That will be the day! To all of you, I find each post really interesting, and I find each comment by dramabeans worth the wait everyday. High 5 everyone!

JANG SEO HEE looked the best. Everything looked perfect and elegant. The dress matched her skin tone, its design is very sophisticated, the s-line is so sexy but classy. It looked really expensive and the make-up is so natural... so charming and beautiful. i love her.

I think that multiple folds look is quite in right now. I personally like that look too. I would have put Jang Seo Hee in the top three too if it didn't look so much like ISJ's. Among the three ladies, I thought ISJ carried the look best.
