Park Jin-hee works despite injury on set

With little more than a week left till the drama’s premiere, the new MBC drama The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry briefly halted filming due to an injury sustained by its lead actress, Park Jin-hee, but resumed quickly thereafter.

The accident happened while filming a scene where Park’s reporter character goes to request an interview with a boxing gym director, and is punched and collapses. However, Park injured her back while shooting, and her management stated, “After shooting the movie Her Mother [친정엄마], she hasn’t rested even a day with drama shoots, and with the frequent heavy snows and cold weather, her body has suffered, which is why she injured her back.” Furthermore, this is said to be a lingering aftereffect from a car accident ten years ago. “However, because of the shooting schedule, she hasn’t had time to go to the hospital for treatment so she is applying hot packs temporarily.” She plans to go to the hospital following the drama’s production press conference on the 14th, and will continue working for the time being.

There has been mention of the heavy snowfall being problematic for several drama productions, because their schedules are so tight that it’s difficult to work around unplanned weather constraints. With the launch looming for this show, I’m sure everyone feels the pressure, but it sounds like another case of overworking to me…

The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry is set for a January 20 premiere.

Park Jin Hee: "Mr. Boxing Gym director, can you show me that move again, just in case Kim Bum tries to put a move on me?"
Boxing Guy: "Sure thing. Does it hurt?"
Park Jin Hee: "Ouch!! Ouch!! Wow, what's this called?"
Boxing Guy: "The Kimura. Sure to break off his arm if he tries to put his arm around you?"
Park Jin Hee. "Hee. Hey Kiiiiiim Buummmmmmm"

What no one wants the press to know is that I pulled ICOMYM rank on a certain Miss Park Jin-hee, fisticuffs ensued, and I won. End of story. :-D

She should be saying that "she didn't know her role would be that painful."

I liked her acting in 'Money's War' and I was wondering what she's been doing... Nice to know she's acting in another drama.

Wish her recover soon. Shooting in Korea is so demanding and actor/actress has to endure much hardship.

@ 9 : The distinction between a good to great actor/actress will base upon such determination by PJH. Sprains or bruising here and there are common in lively activities so it's not so detrimental, but if the production was really cared for then those producers really should invest in those specialist (i.e. boxing coach) to teach and prevent actors/actresses from getting injuries if the script demands such outstanding performances.

Side note, I really like PJH since she resembles one of my favorite actresses of all times, Brigitte Lin (Ching Hsia) from Taiwan.
