Kim Ji-suk heads off for military service

As announced last month, Kim Ji-suk began his life in the army with his May 24 enlistment, just four days after wrapping up his last project, drama series Personal Taste.

He was sent off by members of the press and a small crowd of fans. Asked whether he plans to apply for the entertainers’ unit following basic training, he answered that he’s not thinking of it at this time. For now, he will train for five weeks and then serve 22 months in active duty. His discharge is planned for March 7, 2012.

I hadn’t really cared much for Kim Ji-suk until this year, when he took on roles in Chuno and then Personal Taste, the latter of which really endeared me to him. It’s too bad that most actors end up leaving just as they’re hitting their peak, but the sooner they go, the sooner they’re back, right?

The day before, Kim Ji-suk uploaded the photos below onto his mini-homepage, showing his newly shorn hair. (Personally, I think he wears it quite well, which isn’t always the case for actors. He actually reminds me of Jo Hyun-jae in these pictures.)

He's the most hottest looking actor ever to sport the army hair. Gonna miss ''Wangson' the crazy womanizer in 'Chuno'..So many hotties are serving the army! Cant wait for Eric Mun and Jo Hyun Jae..they're coming out soon also sexy Jo InSung and Shim JiHo!!

Very few SK actors can carry the army buzz cut. Jo Hyun Jae is one of the very, very, very few who could carry it with confidence. Don't see the resemblance, though, between Ji Suk and Jo Hyun Jae except for the buzz cut.

Oh Kim Ji Suk is already leaving for military service for 2 years and he will be able to RETURN in March 2012, of course. =)

Oh gosh, I enjoy watching him in Personal Taste, heh! He's really cool and still handsome that he isn't becoming so old by his age, lolz.

I will miss him and I hope he will doing so well and keep his pride --- FIGHTING!!!!!

KJS is cute and adorable. liked him ever since his drama Likeable or not. He has a good looking with clean look, much younger and bright full of sunshine and hence do not like his good in PT. Will miss him very much. will it be too long for two years ? KJS do remember your fans.
