Oh My Lady: Episode 16 (Final)

Ah, the end is here! I suspect this episode made most if not all fans very happy, as it tied up the plot in a light-hearted but satisfactory way that was in keeping with the tone of the drama. It’s too bad that things didn’t get really compelling until about Episode 10 (then stepped it up with Episode 12 on — incidentally when Yura took a big step backward — coincidence? I think not) — which is frankly rather late for me to be connecting with a drama.

It’s to the actors’ credit that their amusing and sweet interactions were able to carry the plot until the story finally managed to tap into that emotional place with Min-woo’s growth as a father and as a person. I’m just glad that this one ended on a high note, because so many finale episodes feel like a letdown — they’re either too rushed or dragged out as an extended epilogue.

FINAL EPISODE RECAP

Min-woo asks Kae-hwa to be Ye-eun’s mother, explaining that he had purposely waited to ask her until after the musical premiered. Nobody could be as good a mother to Ye-eun as she is, “And I need you. Let’s marry.”

(Omo! Usually when episodes end on cliffhangers, the next episode drops the tension back down, but in this case they just upped the ante.)

Kae-hwa is stunned, but Min-woo adds, “I’m not saying this out of the blue. I’ve thought this over seriously for a long while. Think it over, then give me your answer. I can wait as long as you need.”

Min-woo is invited along for a celebratory drink with The Show Co. staff, and Jae-hee remarks that it feels like Min-woo’s a part of their office family now, seeing as he has come to all their gatherings. Min-woo smiles and, while looking at Kae-hwa, says pointedly, “I think so too. It feels like a family.”

He’s extra solicitous to her, offering little things like napkins and such, which Shi-joon finds amusing while Kae-hwa is exasperated. When the others urge her to drink more, Min-woo swoops in to play the “black knight,” i.e, drink for her.

Min-woo’s behavior is so noteworthy that Jae-hee asks teasingly if their fake scandal is actually real. Kae-hwa blurts, “No!” just as Min-woo answers, “Yes.” (Such a mixed reaction makes the others think there’s more to this relationship than they’re letting on, and they exchange knowing looks.) Kae-hwa rises to leave early because of the kids, and Min-woo hurriedly excuses himself too, accompanying her out.

Kae-hwa is impatient with his exaggerated attentiveness, and says that she’ll give her answer now: “I’m not going to marry again.” He asks her to think about it some more, but she replies that a lot of thought has already gone into making this decision (not to remarry).

A bit indignant, he says it’s cowardly to swear off marriage because her first one failed. Maybe she just met the wrong guy the first time — it’s always possible she’ll meet a good person the second time around.

Kae-hwa replies that she doesn’t want to entertain such an expectation, and besides, she has Min-ji. He counters that a daughter isn’t a husband — and once Min-ji grows up and gets married, will she be fine being alone? That makes her pause briefly, but she reasserts her stance.

Min-woo: “Are you that afraid?”
Kae-hwa: “Yes, I am! Do you know what marriage is?”
Min-woo: “‘What do you know when you have no life experience?’ Is that what you’re telling me?”
Kae-hwa: “You haven’t been hurt so you don’t know. You don’t know what that pain is of promising to love each other for the rest of your life and having that shattered. So please don’t talk to me about marriage again. I’m sorry to say it like this.”

She walks off, leaving him pondering her words.

Kae-hwa’s words make him look deeper into the cause of her resistance. Thus the next morning, he intercepts Byung-hak just as the latter is leaving his house (humming “Sorry Sorry” in a meta moment, lol).

Min-woo gets to the point, asking aggressively what the heck Byung-hak did to Kae-hwa to make her swear off marriage forever. Byung-hak returns that this is hardly his concern, but Min-woo says it matters “because it’s a hindrance to her marrying me.”

Byunk-hak’s reaction is pure confusion: “Why?” Why would he want a woman like Kae-hwa when he’s a star? Min-woo presses on with his question, which elicits a roundabout answer about how she’s a difficult and tiring woman to live with. Min-woo watches with narrowed eyes, reading between the lines — he cheated, huh?

Defensively, Byung-hak turns it around on Kae-hwa, saying she doesn’t know how to make herself pretty; it felt like he was living with a housekeeper. In fact, he never bought even her flowers — not because he forgot or anything, but simply because he never felt inspired to buy them for her. You know, since looks are the only reason for loving a woman and all. (I’m not even offended by this comment, because Byung-hak is such a silly idiot that the sentiment has no sting coming from him.)

Min-woo asks if he ever apologized for hurting her. Byung-hak laughs, saying it’s embarrassing to do that. Min-woo tells him firmly, “Apologize to her. Ask her officially for her forgiveness.” Byung-hak finds this an odd demand coming from Min-woo, who replies, “I’m asking as the man who loves her.”

Now that Min-woo has made up his mind to woo Kae-hwa, he gets busy trying to win her over. For instance, he waits outside her apartment to give the girls a ride to school, and reacts in concern to hear Kae-hwa hasn’t eaten breakfast. After dropping off the girls, he takes her to a fancy buffet, where he even serves her.

Kae-hwa worries over the pricy food, trying to convince him to watch his spending because he must have lost a lot of money in the cancelled endorsement deals. Min-woo answers matter-of-factly that they probably add up to about 3 billion won ($2.5 million), but is unfazed. He’s got money in the bank and is confident he can get more work; he’ll consider this a luxurious hiatus from work.

Unimpressed, Kae-hwa urges him to adopt a frugal attitude and says she’s better off than he is, since at least she has a regular salary.

At work, a huge arrangement of red roses is delivered, addressed to Kae-hwa from Min-woo. While the other employees all smile at her knowingly, Kae-hwa tries to explain it away in innocent terms: “Can’t this be a thank-you?” They don’t buy it for a second.

Min-woo sends her a text, which is totally over-the-top and ridiculous (“More beautiful than a flower… Kae-hwa”). Embarrassed and uncomfortable, Kae-hwa says she’ll clear the flowers out of the office and takes them to the stairwell, thinking Min-woo is being shameless. But they do bring a smile to her face, as it’s been ages since she’s received flowers from anyone (which is why Min-woo made the gesture in the first place, in reaction to Byung-hak’s remark).

Next, Min-woo takes a cake to Bok-nim in thanks for treating Ye-eun, then asks for a favor, as she is a friend to Kae-hwa. His statement that “I’m intending to marry Yoon Kae-hwa” so shocks her that Bok-nim drops her coffee and stares at him incredulously.

Bok-nim rushes to ask Kae-hwa about it, wanting to know when the wedding is. She dismisses Kae-hwa’s grumbling that he’s just a kid — 28 is plenty grown-up, and the seven-year age difference is nothing. How can she let a guy like him slip through her fingers?

Kae-hwa grumbles that Min-woo’s proposal asked her to be Ye-eun’s mother, not his wife. Bok-nim sees through Kae-hwa’s complaining and smiles: “You really do like Min-woo.” That’s why she’s disappointed over the wording of his proposal, right? Bok-nim waves aside her resistance, saying that if they like each other, what’s the big deal? In her eyes, Min-woo is serious about her.

Min-woo takes the family out to a nice restaurant. Kae-hwa is self-conscious about coming to a place like this where they’ll be watched, but Min-ji enjoys eating out for once, and Min-woo tells her that it doesn’t matter to him. He pats Ye-eun on the head, saying, “I’m going to raise her proudly, since she’s my daughter.” Which is probably the most effective thing he could have said to impress her, and she allows herself to look at him with moony eyes (but only when he’s not looking back at her).

When Kae-hwa takes Ye-eun to the bathroom, Min-woo tries to make conversation with Min-ji. He sees this as a chance to suss out her thoughts and asks if she’d like having a sister like Ye-eun. Min-ji is pretty sharp and asks point-blank, “Are you going to marry my mother?” Her bluntness takes him by surprise, but he confides that he wants to. Still, he has to first hear out Min-ji’s opinion and wait for her mother’s answer.

She asks, “If you end up marrying my mother and then a prettier lady comes along, are you going to divorce my mom?” Min-woo gapes incredulously, but Min-ji points out that he works with beautiful actresses all the time: “If you betray my mother, it’ll be so sad for her.”

He tells her solemnly, “That’ll never happen. I’ll promise that to you.” They pinky-swear on it.

The musical continues its run and after another of Min-woo’s performances, he calls Kae-hwa, who is working late — or at least, she lies that she is. He offers to pick her up from the office, but for whatever reasons (fear, insecurity, nerves), Kae-hwa rejects the offer.

Reporter Han overhears Min-woo muttering to himself after the call, and says knowingly that he must be stuck in an unrequited love. Min-woo is wary, but Reporter Han has some insights about the situation, and his comments pique Min-woo’s curiosity. Wanting to hear more thoughts on his situation, Min-woo goes along with the reporter’s suggestion to grab a drink.

Kae-hwa works late, keeping herself busy to avoid going home right away. Finding her still in the office, Shi-joon offers her a ride home, and they pause for a break to talk. Tentatively, Kae-hwa says she hopes that he and his wife can give things another try, as it seems they still care for each other. Although Shi-joon doesn’t respond, he’s not offended by her statement and in fact seems to consider her words.

He turns the topic to Min-woo, asking how things are between them. Kae-hwa can’t feign ignorance since Shi-joon knows too much, but first she asks how much he knows. He answers, “One person is sending flowers, but the other person doesn’t seem ready to receive them.”

She confirms that Min-woo seems to be serious about a relationship but she’s not sure; she doesn’t feel confident that she can be seen “as a woman” to anybody. Shi-joon tells her she can — enough that he felt something for her for a short while. This stuns her, as he had never given any hint of his interest, but Shi-joon assures her that there is no cause for alarm. He has dealt with his feelings, and things won’t get awkward between them.

Liquor loosens Min-woo’s reserve (and his tongue) enough that he starts to talk freely about his woes, wondering how Kae-hwa can reject his proposal. Grabbing his laptop, the reporter starts to take notes, asking questions about why she rejected him and how long he’s had feelings for her. And I love Min-woo’s answer:

Min-woo: “Since we went looking for Ye-eun. No — since she had to go to the sauna because of me. No — since she fought with Mr. Jung [Yoon-seok]. Or was it from the beginning?”

Reporter Han says he must like her quite a lot, and Min-woo answers, “Yes, an awful lot. She’s different from the women I dated in the past. She’s beautiful. That’s why I think, ‘This is my woman.'” With that, he falls asleep, his head coming to rest on the tabletop.

Huh — well, this is a new side to Min-woo, and the reporter finds him pretty pure-hearted after all. It’s nothing like the partying image he’d had earlier. He starts typing a story about Min-woo’s “heartfelt love story” and uses words like “rebirth as a real actor.”

Han’s article spawns a wave of press, which now portrays Min-woo in a much more down-to-earth, humanistic light. They even declare that he has now washed off the disgrace of his former image as a lousy actor.

Yoon-seok is dissatisfied — I guess this good press does him no good, since he has lost his hold on Min-woo — but everyone else’s opinion of Min-woo makes a drastic upswing. He presents himself modestly in interviews, and even producer Eom is impressed with him. In fact, Eom gives himself credit for having recognized Min-woo’s talents early on, but Byung-hak scoffs since he didn’t do anything about them. Eom counters that he’ll get Min-woo for his next production.

Eom isn’t the only one wanting to cast Min-woo, and Shi-joon conveys an offer to Min-woo from a Japanese producer colleague, who has sent a proposal for Min-woo to take a role in a Japanese drama. Min-woo is pleased with the news, but as soon as he sees that he’d have to live in Japan for a year, he declines. Shi-joon thinks it’s a great opportunity, but Min-woo answers that he has somebody to watch over here.

And that’s not all: Jae-hee hands Kae-hwa some documents to give to Min-woo, which are papers for a new advertising contract offer worth 1 billion won (nearly $1 million). Apparently advertisers love his new image as a dedicated young single father.

Kae-hwa takes the documents to Min-woo’s photo shoot, where he takes a break from posing for a makeup touchup. The makeup artist tells him that his “scandal partner” (Kae-hwa) is really below his level, and offers to introduce him to a younger model friend. She describes the girl as one of those innocent-looking beauties, to which Min-woo answers, “I like sexy women.”

Naturally this is hardly thrilling for Kae-hwa to hear, even though Min-woo is actually making that quip as a way to reject the date. (Rather than saying no outright, saying that he prefers sexy women is a way of declining her friend, who is the opposite.)

Feeling dispirited, Kae-hwa decides not to approach and starts to leave. She runs into Yura, who congratulates her on her relationship and assures her that she has decided to move on.

Kae-hwa hands the envelope to Yura and asks for her to give it to Min-woo, making up the excuse that she’s busy and has to leave. Yura does, and when Min-woo hears the reason, he hurries out and tries to call Kae-hwa. Alas she isn’t answering the phone, so he goes to the theater, where he is told she is still back at the office.

Shi-joon finds her on the roof ignoring Min-woo’s phone call, and offers her a beer. In her melancholy mood, Kae-hwa offers to tell Shi-joon a “really funny story” and confides that Min-woo proposed to her. Even funnier is the fact that her heart thrilled to hear it. It was exciting to be seen as a woman again — but today, that feeling was shattered.

I’d assumed she was hurt by the makeup stylist’s dismissive comments about her, but I’m actually relieved that those words weren’t the cause of her mood. In actuality, it was the sight of him in action, looking like a star, that made her feel like they were completely unsuited for each other: “He seemed like someone from another land.”

Shi-joon points out that Min-woo was a star from the start — it’s not like she didn’t know. Kae-hwa answers that at the beginning, he had nothing to do with her so that wasn’t an issue. But as they got to know each other, she saw him struggling and felt sorry for him, and nagged him when he said silly things — and those things felt comfortable and manageable. Now that he’s doing better… it’s like he’s back to being a lofty star and the chasm is growing between them.

Shi-joon tells her that Min-woo likes her very much — enough to give up a drama opportunity for her. “Min-woo has changed this much — shouldn’t you recognize his feelings?”

Min-woo arrives at the office to find it empty, then recalls the roof. He arrives outside just in time to see Kae-hwa wiping away some tears. So much about this situation upsets him, and he strides up to her, grabs her wrist (urg!), and takes her downstairs.

He feels hurt that she has been ignoring his calls and avoiding him, particularly when she knew he was waiting for her — and now she’s here crying in front of Shi-joon — and raises his voice to a yell. Kae-hwa tells him levelly that she has already given him her reply, but he ignored it. No matter how she thinks about it, they don’t suit.

He argues that if he cared about those things — age, status — he would never have liked her from the start. She returns that this is just proof that he’s young, and they should quit while they’re ahead. And he should go to Japan.

That gets his attention: “Is that why?” He explains that he didn’t tell her about the Japan offer because he never intended to go. She takes issue with his high-handedness in dragging her away, saying that she’s ashamed of him when he does that, and gets angry and starts fights out of misunderstandings.

Min-woo asks, “So are you saying you can’t marry me? Are you saying I won’t do because I’m immature and young?” Kae-hwa answers yes. She can’t marry someone who reacts in such unpredictable ways — it makes her feel uneasy. She storms off, leaving him to shout her name in frustration.

You know, I’m actually relieved that they had this fight. They’ve never fought for real, and this addresses issues that they’ve been skirting thus far. It’s also nice to see some real conflict — genuine emotional clashing and hurt feelings — rather than the glib, fluffy sort of conflict that has characterized most of this show.

That night, Byung-hak calls Kae-hwa, who finds him drunk and in a thoughtful mood. To her surprise, he tells her, “I’m sorry.” He acknowledges that he never apologized properly, so he’s doing it now. She did nothing wrong — he’s the bad guy — and they divorced because he wronged her. But he felt too embarrassed to apologize, so he couldn’t do it: “But after listening to Sung Min-woo, I felt I was really wrong, and that I had to apologize. So I came here.”

That surprises her — he met Min-woo? Byung-hak gives Min-woo some credit for the way he had insisted he apologize, admitting that the kid was pretty impressive with the way he said, “As the man who loves Yoon Kae-hwa, please apologize.”

He says it one more time: “Kae-hwa, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I pushed you aside and hurt your feelings — forgive me for everything. Forget that all, and make a new start. And if he upsets you, come and tell me right away, and I’ll give him a scolding.”

(Aww. An unexpectedly touching moment from Byung-hak. As with the last time he defended Kae-hwa, this gives us a glimpse into why they were married in the first place while also showing us why they didn’t work. It’s rare to see ex-spouses in a drama ending on amicable terms, and it’s a nice change.)

Min-woo comes home feeling frustrated, and looks over his drama proposal documents. This gives him an idea, and he starts typing away. And when we see what he’s drafting — gahhh, Min-woo is so cute. I about died reading the title of his document: “Proposal On Living For Yoon Kae-hwa.”

In the morning, he comes to her apartment and gives her the envelope. He looks at her with puppy dog eyes and tells her to give her response after reading it.

Kae-hwa reads Min-woo’s proposal, which is formatted like a business document. In keeping with the theme of the drama proposal packet, he has drawn up Kae-hwa’s resumé, only it’s more like a life resumé than a professional one, outlining her traits and skills such as “she has a loud voice,” “makes killer ddukbokki and kimbap,” and “she likes Kim Myung-min better than Sung Min-woo, but I want to forgive her anyway.” Also of note: she has become a mother to Ye-eun, “and now is the woman in my heart.”

Under the “future plans” column, he has scheduled marriage in a month, a vacation cruise to celebrate their one-year anniversary, and so forth. Byung-hak’s apology had started to melt her resolve, and now she has to smile a teeny bit at Min-woo’s document.

Jung-ah has been offered a job in Daejeon, which is located in central Korea and about a two-hour drive from Seoul. She asks Shi-joon for his approval, suggesting that they need some space between them. As she leaves, she tells him that she realizes she hasn’t been the best wife to him either (I presume she means before the adultery, since otherwise that statement would be met with a resounding DUH).

But the door isn’t closed on them forever — with Shi-joon now opening up more to Jung-ah and realizing his part in driving his wife away, it looks like they’re leaving room for a reconciliation later, after they’ve both healed. Shi-joon even says he’ll go down to visit her on the weekend.

Min-woo performs another show, after which he checks his phone and tries to contain his disappointment that Kae-hwa hasn’t called. To his (happy) surprise, Kae-hwa finds him sitting in the empty theater, here with a much more conciliatory attitude than the last time they saw each other.

As we know, important conversations must always relocate to prettier environs (can you imagine that car ride over to the waterside? Most awkward silence ever).

Kae-hwa apologizes for her harsh words, telling Min-woo that she didn’t mean it when she pushed him away. She asks for his understanding and also thanks him for thinking of her life and her future (i.e., in his proposal) in such a serious way.

Min-woo has been looking pensive and tense throughout her speech, like he’s bracing himself, sensing that she’s ready to deliver her final decision. So it takes a moment for her next words to really sink in, as she tells him:”So I’m thinking of being courageous now. Thanks to you, I think I can do that now.”

She adds that she’d always thought she would just focus on being a solid support for Min-ji’s benefit, “But if things get hard, it’s okay if lean on someone now.” Min-woo smiles and steps forward to hug her gently, thanking her for her answer. Kae-hwa thanks him back for letting her be courageous again.

Min-woo then thanks her for watching over him and Ye-eun all this while. He promises that from now on, he’ll protect her.

And then they get the swirly-camera kiss — which is a nice way to bookend the drama, considering that this is very similar to how we started. Only, now it actually means something.

The end!

COMMENTS

I picked up Oh My Lady because (1) when it started I had the time, as none of the current Wednesday-Thursday shows had premiered yet and I had no other recap commitments, (2) I had just finished its timeslot predecessor Wish Upon a Star, which was a happy surprise, and therefore anticipated a similar tone for this one, and (3) I wanted to keep up the watching and recapping momentum. There’s also (4) the matter of loving Chae Rim (and wanting her to pick a more enjoyable project than her last, Good Job, Good Job) and (5) the fact that I had pegged Choi Siwon as an idol-star-turned-actor to watch out for after Story of Hyang Dan back in ’07. (See? There IS some thought that goes into these decisions, however random the choices may ultimately seem!)

About halfway through the drama, however, I found my interest flagging, but not enough to drop the show. Even the less interesting episodes were easy to watch, and it wasn’t a challenging show in either theme or plot, so keeping up wasn’t too much of a hardship. I did, however, start thinking that if the actual plot development got any SLOWER, I would seriously consider dropping it.

Ultimately I’m glad I stuck with the show, and the last four episodes in particular gave me a sense of satisfaction about the drama as a whole. It turned into a different drama than the one it originally seemed — which pointed at the hijinks of a star falling for his ajumma maid/manager — and focused much more on Min-woo’s development as a father than as a romantic partner. I don’t think the romance came out of nowhere, but it wasn’t a priority, and that was actually refreshing.

I won’t call Choi Siwon a brilliant actor — he’s pretty decent, but he’s still got a long way to go if he’s going to keep pursuing an acting career, and I think he should — so rather than pure acting skills, it’s his personal charm that carries the character. I mean, just look at that smile, right?

It doesn’t hurt that he’s perfectly cast — image isn’t everything, but it’s a pretty significant part of how we approach a character. And when you cast a star to play a star, you’ve always got that benefit of the audience’s meta awareness of the actor’s real-life fame. (Also see: Choi Ji-woo in A Star’s Lover, Rain in Full House, Jang Geun-seok in You’re Beautiful, Kim Ah-joong in Accidental Couple.)

It was a leetle disappointing to have so little screentime for the two girls in the last episode, but we’ve seen enough of the Cute in previous episodes that I was content to let this finale be Min-woo and Kae-hwa’s exclusively. (Well, there were a few Shi-joon and Jung-ah moments, but I choose to skip right over them in my mind. Yawn. I’m satisfied, story-wise, with where they ended, but don’t need to dwell any longer on them.)

And then there’s Chae Rim. To be honest, I don’t think this is the best vehicle for her, even though the drama really benefits from having her in it. Therefore I’m glad for the drama’s sake, but she’s an actress whose talents weren’t fully used here — particularly since her character was less developed than Min-woo’s, and hardly changed at all. She made the most of it, tapping into a vulnerable side of Kae-hwa that gave the character a hint of depth. But I hope to see her tackling something more challenging in the future, and something out of the ajumma mold, as she’s done two in a row.

All in all, Oh My Lady was a sweet, cute series that could be a fun way to spend a breezy weekend with some unchallenging but personable characters, and that will leave you smiling at the end.

Hello, everyone; hi Chelsa80! Happy weekend!

@46, 47Doraemnon, How lucky can you be. I'm jealous. ;-) If I tell you the name of the OST will you lend me your OML dvd set? That's a half joke, ha ha. Many were asking the same question so I had written it down in my check-it-out-in-youtube list: Ee Byul Mot Han Ee Byul, the instrumental version. Originally sung by Ji Sun, per my notes.

I'll be back.

@kappy – Thank you for welcoming me to the OMLhood. I feel comfortable already. So, sister Mel is our Head Cheerleader. So fitting! She’s been my cheerleader – in good times and in bad, she’s always by my side. You surely love her more when you meet her in person.

@Doraemon – Thank you. It feels good to be in a friendly OMLhood. But wait, maybe you’re not the oldest fan of Suju. Who knows, it could be me; and I’m older than Mel too… I’m sure you’ll enjoy Dalja Spring. Mel and I and our kimchee cousins love it too.

@Menci – Hello! It’s nice to have new friends. It may take me awhile to get to know each one of you, but I’ll try to catch up.

@548 MEL – We did have a great time together today in LA and Long Beach. It took me more than 2 hours to get back home from Long Beach. I missed the turns, as you instructed, so I decided to follow GPS which took me through the Pacific Highway to the freeway I-5 (and the next thing I knew, I was in San Clemente). I should keep a map in the car so next time GPS will take me to a longer route, I could just look at the map. It would have been nice if it was still daylight and I could see the shoreline for an hour. Well, it gave me an idea where to reroute if traffic is bad next time I come to LA. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to and singing along with my music – a collection of love songs in English, OPM (original Pilipino music), and of course…you know…. I always feel nostalgic especially when I hear the OST from Winter Sonata.

That message from the fortune cookie I got earlier still brings a smile on my face. Remember? “Your ability to love will help a child in need.” And who could that child be? And together we answered, CSW.

Sorry, can’t go to the SUJU concert with you. I’ll miss the fun this time, but enjoy with our kimchee cousins. I’ll just watch the video.

@550kappy – I’ve been in Oahu for 5 years from 1994-1999. I plan to use my time share and return for a short vacation, hopefully next year.

As to AAE, isn’t Jang Dong Gun adorable?

@Doraemon, sorry I misspelled your name. My typing is getting worse.

@Mel, I'm not as lucky as you in convincing my k-drama-addict friend to join us here. @Chelsa80, diin ka sa ato?

@45 Kappy, I'm relieved that I did not offend you by posting the 2 links not related to what binds us here. Thank you. Btw, @14 Ace. Chapter 2 will be in New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall on 9Oct for their Homage to Original Pilipino Music. Wanna come?

And now, my reason for this post.

@32 Menci I mentioned one thing that struck me as odd and significant but did not get any comment, as far as I know. I'm trying to look for the episode where that scene appeared to reference it properly but I have not found it yet. So I'll get to it later. But there are other parts of the drama that I find significant, too.

Towards the end of the drama, in episode 15 when his career was at its lowest, MinWoo was wearing what looked like rosary beads to me instead of a necklace and such. For me this is significant because the rosary is used for meditative prayer. Being a Christian, Siwon perhaps was telling us in a subtle way that in our darkest hours we should have faith in God. That's how I look at it anyway.

Then there are the rings on his fingers. When did you start noticing them really? I only noticed them when they started looking like wedding rings and that's the time when Minwoo got serious about Kae Hwa.

I still have 3 unfulfilled promises, 3 things that require a focused rewatching of OML: (1) the odd/significant scene; (2) who was Minwoo before he became an idol; and (3) did Gae Hwa fall for Minwoo earlier than we thought. I hope the mundane will not get in the way. ;-)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Angels! Take care!

P.S. A thought just struck me. We say that we have watched OML over and over. If so, if we are quizzed on it it will be a breeze, right? For instance, if someone asks "What course/subject did Minwoo take under Prof. Yoo? We can give the answer at a snap, right?

I guess not. ;-)

Have a good day, guys!

Celsa80, remember when I asked to just take a glance at this site and you'd ask me how-why such long posts--just look at you now!! Aren't you having a blast? I sure am...!!!

@Menci Siwon's wearing a rosary,I noticed that.. I've seen him wearing that at performances too. Good for him.... As for your further research into MW's character, umm, syne we need to have the writers actually write the biography of Song Min Woo and since we love KH, then we need her biography as well... so maybe we can answer any inquiry to his life including his college life... So to add, I'll ask JB on how to get in touch with the writer, director-crew of OML not only to maybe write the early life of Minwo but of course to show gratitude for the show.

SMW may have been a party boy but he really becomes more focused on being an actor with the prodding of KH and the his removal as the lead basically help ground him in his acting. Other external factors of course were the scandals with KH and then YE that really woke MW to the reality of his life. The initial baggage that YE and KH later becomes his lifeline.. his source of inspiration and of course his love, the humanization of MW... and all the different dramas are similar in their own ways just the storylines are varied. At the end of the line are us.. I've become so engrossed in the many dramas I've seen, and have really enjoyed them warts and all. Each character be they the beloved Song Min Woo initially ID-driven (one of many who power this thread) or the motherly Kae Hwa--who later becomes his love and have mutually drawn us here to enjoy and basically get more sucked in.. Sigh, it's okey, I'll be here sometimes as a lurker, stalker but always as die hard as any out there who have become drawn to kdrama but not just any drama but OML... I like to explore but also like to hold on to many simple things like OML--though this is no simple story... I'll always hold on to OML while enjoying new fare-new batches of kdrama.. Thanks all for the many suggestions of dramas you've enjoyed... I'll give my suggestions too.

There are many daily dramas that can only be seen through cable and some that are never shown at all... We'll never get to apprecite because of the time constrictions, while others that are never subbed. Soo many treasures that we'll miss, so sad... One drama that I'm looking for is First Love from 1996-- just the ending..I watched the whole series that my local Korean store had except there was no ending.. I'll eventually get just the end from KBS but not yet... Sooo that's it for today's rant/rave... Have a great day... Sorry if there any typos..

@ Mel

First Love is a drama that I have long wanted to watch, but there are still no English subs available. A team at Viikii has started on this project, but the quality of the video is off putting and it will take a long time (if ever) for this series to be completed.

Nevertheless, here's the link to the last episode (no subs).

I found this cut uploaded in 2006 of Siwon singing on a program named "1000 Songs".

As I understand it, participants choose a number from 1 to 1,000 (the number of songs available in that day's jukebox) and sing the song. If they make a mistake with the lyrics, they are buzzed off. I don't know what the prize is aside from the satisfaction of surviving through the end of the show.

Hello to all Angels in OMLhood,

hope you ar enjoying your weekend.

@550 Kappy, I'm also puzzled why that suju fan made the comment; but since I don't know her personally, I can't find out more. Like you said, it did the opposite for me too, it's 'cos of Minwoo in OML which leads me to Siwon and then Suju.

@552 Menci, thanks for the title of the MNIKSS OST ! If we're nearer to one another, I'll be most willing to share my OML DVD with you and others in our OMLhood. I mean it !!! I really appreciate our friendship here in OMLhood !!!

Got to go back to my work now......but I'll be back. Take care, all Angels !

@561 rai, hi there!

@558 Mel, Hoy, kumusta! (translate to: Hey, how are you?) I'm from Leyte. You forgot to mention to Chelsa about Dramabeans addiction. @ Chelsa, kumusta! Dramabeans, as a whole, is quite addicting.

@ Javabeans. I salute you, Girlfriday, Samsooki, and the rest of your team for your passion for k-drama. Your blog got me hooked by its content and style. Now I can't make up my mind on the new format. I was about to post my dissatisfaction (not on this page) with the font (all in bold and hard on my eyes); I'm glad I didn't since it's ok now. I don't have to leave this page (and my friends from OML haven) after all. However, I'm not saying I like the new format already. Not yet, not now.

@560 Lumi. Thanks for the link. I dig it! Thank you! Now I can tell my skeptical friends that Simon does have the voice and does not need to lipsync.

Btw some youtube commenters say SiWon looks and/or sounds like Kangta and Daniel Henney. I don't understand the DH part, really!

I finished episode 2 of my serious review of OML. No fastforwarding, no unnecessary retracking to the cutie cutie parts. I'm like someone working on a thesis for a master's degree, no make that someone working on a dissertation for a doctorate.

Be good, guys; take care!

@rai hello hope you drop by again--great (!!!!) that you also enjoyed our beloved OML... Don't forget to come and visit again..

Celsa80 asked me to apologize in her behalf, she'll be out of commission for about a week. She'll continue her posts when she gets back.

@Menci, you know someone studying Modern Korean Studies could easily do a desertation on Korean Hallyu Wave, specifically Kdramas focusing on 'enchanting' Oh! My Lady... Is that what you're focusing on? So, on with the deserstation and long enjoyable as well as painful research. You'll be revisiting the woo moments and squirm ones... Enjoy the show and don't forget to remind and we will also remember this beloved show be refreshed like we just saw it like yesterday... Night all..

There's also this newsbit I picked up from Siwonlover.blogspot: Si Won is on the August 10 issue of the magazines Easy, Junior and Korean Hurricanes. Siwonlover.blogspot posted the pages containing pictures. The accompaying articles, unfortunately, are not in English.

Is there a way we can request Javabeans to show the pictures and tell us the gist of the articles in her blog?

Hi all in the OML hood/haven!

So sorry to be MIA for so long (and it does feel like a long time). Been kinda busy. Also, been watching Last Scandal. I had a week to watch it (from library) but went over (thank goodness they lowered the late fees). I liked it a lot and saw a lot of similarities between it and OML. Jung Jun Ho is such a cutie! But alas, can you guess which one I prefer? Have no fear! The diehard OML fan remains in me, as immovable as ever!

@Ace - Oh where, oh where are you? Your week is up! Wasn't only a week? Take a break from burying your head in the Korean language manuals and send us a line...

Hey, speaking of the Korean language, let's have a short Korean lang. lesson daily. Say, just a term or two. We've gone over "ahjumma" a lot. How about "kurom" or "de"? I've seen different translations of that. And speaking of different translations, I wanted to ask your thoughts on some of those in the show. One that comes to mind is as follows:

Situation 1 and dialogue: Epi 6 - MW and KH are having a drink at his place after watching the musical and after she was embarrassed by her ex-husband. She says "Despite your temper, I can see how you are a star and go far." OR "Even though your acting is bad...I can see how you are a star..."

Temper vs. bad acting. Kinda different to me.

Gotta go, but will continue later...

Have a great day!

Heya...

@rai - Welcome! We totally agree with you about OML. Which is why we're at almost 600 comments...

@Lumi - Thanks for the SPAO link. Oh man, I sure would like the stills of those, too. So handsome... And as for the 1000 songs link, to those who might not know this guy can sing, he can!

@Mel - Thanks for keeping up here. Tell celsa (or rather, celsa, are you reading this?) we'd like to hear soon from both of yous. It's neat that you're friends, and I find myself wishing we all could get together for an OML-watching night, or to a Suju concert, or something!

@Menci - Was accidentally calling Siwon Simon a Freudian slip? Made me think of the game "Simon Says". Seems like we would not have much of a problem doing what Siwon says (especially since he wouldn't ask anything inappropriate because of the gentleman he is).

I liked your quiz idea, though I've already flunked the first one. Geez! But wasn't SJ not even a professor but someone who came in to lecture on the subject? Or am I confused? I will review that scene again and, in the meanwhile, throw some more at us, will you?

I agree that he doesn't really resemble Daniel Henney. When I looked up Kangta (since I'm not at all familiar with him), I do think they resemble each other (except that Siwon is more handsome). Do you remember in that 3 Women show that Suju appeared on, that one of the members said he smiled like the Joker? I had to laugh, because I see what they meant.

Speaking of persons resembling him, I was driving through an intersection today and saw this guy waiting to cross the street that looked a lot like Siwon. I did a double take and had to make sure I didn't hit the car in front of me!

And how's your dissertation coming along? Perhaps we can help you on your drafts...

Oh, and interesting take on the wearing of the rosary beads. I liked it. I'm usually not into guys wearing anything that resembles jewelry, but he looked good in it, and it, of course, has a significance to it.

Okay, I'm off, but hope to hear from you OML'ers soon...

Aloha!

missed you OMLHood Angels, been busy... no this not the end of the road..... I don't think any of us will allow it, I know we've been lurking.... this will go on...

Celsa80 has been on a long trip and in addition very busy, so when she gets back, then she'll be just like us...

hi Menci--- hoy komusta ka pod ka ( hey, how are you too?) Lumi, Doraemon, Kappy, Ace..... and all, yes... Today SUJU has their first Super Show 3 in Seoul, I've been surfing YT for a glimpse of their concert... Maybe tomorrow there will be better videos... then, tonight I took a glance at my e-mail, one of the talented MV makers made a video of Siwon. I requested it way back when (I don't know when, she said it's just a work in progress and when she'll upload the final video--???--) here it is......it's cute, it's on my ipod & iphone... enjoy... and the music is sung by one of Korea's best voices Younha--waiting (title)... a trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFA9SPYGrqA

And still, I continue to watch bits and pieces of OML, I still can't get over how handsome--well endowed CSW is. There are many pictures of SW in his Soompi blogspot.. His shorter haircut makes him so young.. I really feel like a DOW (dirty ol woman!!!) It's a shame aint it.... But oh so what, just like any fangurl out there, what's the harm right? Oh yeah, Soompi fans are forming a noona club for him--that sounds better, noona--not ajumma!!!! Pluz, we need to get away from that word ajumma.... We should join them, they are a bad as us...

OML, ep 14---I'll keep posting until I get tired of this episode... when MW meets KH at the park, he's so upset that KH has a place for herself and MJ as well as YE. MW walks away and just keeps brushing away KH's hands... More of his gestures... mumbling away... Well, that deflated MW when he goes home and says I've the place to myself and I can go back to my old ways. Of course, he's saying all these things to make himself believe that he does not KH, YE and the added MJ.. And of course in the morning he calls for coffee and calls KH but he is ignored. KH is too busy with the kids, he can hear they are having fun... and later he calls KH looking for the shirt he just bought (which he is actually holding in his hand...) another excuse to speak to her... Poor MW he's falling.....

Kappy, your wish may come true--umm about getting together. Celsa and I and our kimchee bunch have been planning to go to Korea, we're going to head for the spots where there are stars--be it studios, filming areas... Celsa--is pretty thick skinned, we give each other ideas and can go on and on about the dramas.... and about that guy who you thought looked like um Simon-Siwon... yeah, I agree with you... none of us would have any problems doing what SW says.. He he he... enjoy that video........ I'll keep looking for more. Become a member of Soompi, those talented SW fans have some great pictures--info, items that they like to share........ 'til next time, bless you all.. OML Angels

Greetings to OMLHood :)

Ah, did not notice such a huge following for the adorable and oh-so-talented Siwon here even though I visit regularly for recaps and to look for news on Athena (very disappointed that the recent news of Athena does not contain SW :( )

I have yet to watch a new drama to the end after finishing OML. I still rewatch it for my favorite parts. I even got my husband to watch OML with me....TWICE....we marathoned it over the long weekend. He's now an OML fan, too!

I tried watching PT since I loved LMH in BBF....I couldn't get past the first ep....it seemed boring to me....sorry PT fans!

After OML, I watched Legend of Hyang Dan....at that point, I was already a CSW fangirl. Then I went and looked for the SuJu stuff.....it was over at that point. I am now firmly a CSW noona fangirl ^^. He's simply adorable.

On a side note, I saw some mentions that other CSW fans will be at SMTown in LA? Since I am also going, does anyone have a meetup planned? I'd love to meet more CSW fans! :)

Welcome Lacus...yes, yes, this is a huge OML not to mention a humongous CSW umm noona fan site.. and can't forget a SUJU fan site too. And as for the L A SMTown concert I and my kimchee bunch are going but we are in the hated nosebleed section--better than nothing.. I'll be surfing the net in search of their first SS3 concert videos... I like the new SW haircut, he really looks a lot more youthful...
I'm glad that you enjoyed OML, hope you'll blog and post often with us..just simple loyalty to OML... soo Lacus maybe we can hook up, CSW noonafan like me...let's do that...

Fellow noonas, surfing for SS3 videos I stumbled on old standards to download for my father then saw Gidget with Sandra Dee and a clip of A Summer Place... I watched these movies in my teens back in the seventies... just a lot of reminiscing..I'm really dating myself---it's okey, age is simply something an intangible to overcome with my aching bones and muscles... temporarily forgotten with OML, SUJU, CSW, Chae Rim and Dramabeans... Soo, 'til next time OML Angels... Let's enjoy exploring for those SS3 concert fan videos..

Ahhh, I still cannot bring myself to watch a new drama. Still in OML withdrawal....so I am instead watching all the vids of Siwon's appearances that I can find.

Sad to say, I focus on him first and stay there. His facial expressions are <3

Yes, let's meet up, please! You can reach me @ mariantvt at gmail dot com

I've seen some fancams of SS3, but no HD ones of Siwon's solo. T___________T

Greetings all!

@Lacus - Welcome! You're already sounding so much like the rest of us. We've said the exact same things... still "stuck" on OML...tried to watch PT, but fizzled...watched Legend of Hyang Dan to see more of Siwon...now a big Siwon and Suju fan...

We have to tell you (just in case you haven't read all 580+ comments) that this condition is called KDAS, or Korean Drama Addiction Syndrome. There is no cure, we're sorry to say. Also, that we here will not be helping you find one, if that's what you're looking for (which we figure you're not, at least not now). On the contrary - we are fostering the condition, and that is probably putting it mildly.

Anyway, all syndromes aside (or should I say, beside), we're glad you joined us!

Oh, and I'm jealous you get to go to SMTown and possibly will meet Mel, her kimchi sisters, etc. Go scream for all of us and do us proud!

@Ace - Hey, glad to see you back, girl! Seems to be the season of computer problems, 'cause my connection doesn't fly as fast these days, and it's frustrating! More RAM. Better video card. New motherboard. Heck, new computer...

@Doraemon - Oh good, your computer problem is solved. Hey, and that link you provided... I've seen it several times, and it gives me mixed feelings. Yeah, just for show, but hooey. Helpless is right, since he was drumming and had to keep up. Wonder if that was overboard enough for him to later tell Heechul to cool it, or at least to lower the level of showmanship, or whatever.

@Mel - How is your surfing for SS3 Seoul coming along? I see bits and pieces, too - nothing substantial. Oh well, it'll come. I like his haircut, too. It's the shortest I've seen on him, but then, I like short hair. However, his longer hair looks just fine on him, too. Glad he doesn't go hog wild with the hair dye as a few others (Heechul in particular, but then again, that is Heechul.)

Oh, and I reminisce a bunch, too. Have you seen Tammy and the Bachelor? Leslie Nielsen was so handsome, I thought, and seems so different from his later, wacko/funny movie years. Okay, finished the reminiscing for now...

Have a great day, all!

Greetings OMLHood :)

@kappy: Thanks for the welcome. So nice to know I'm not alone.

KDAS - nice to know the name of the illness....hrm, no cure? I guess I'll live on, not that much of a hardship....besides all the time spent rewatching OML....but I can't say that's a bad thing.

Glad to be here amongst fellow OML fanatics. I swear, I do not understand why this drama did not receive more love. Even my husband, who is not a kdrama fan, loved it. Yes, the story wasn't original, but it warms your heart watching it. I also like the fact that the love isn't smack-dab in your face. I guess my age has something to do with it, but to me, love is in the little things you do to show affection for the other person. The big gestures are nice, but it's the little things that make life sweet. Siwon and Chae Rim did an amazing job of portraying people who fall in love in spite of themselves. They start out as friends and fall in love after understanding all the good and bad sides of the other person. IMO, that is what leads to a long-lasting successful relationship.

The kisses are nice, but I paid more attention to the secret looks, grins, etc. Min Woo's jealousy is absolutely adorable. I can see where his jealousy is coming from, since Kae Hwa is so close to her boss and her (jealous) ex-husband is always hanging around. I like the fact that Kae Hwa isn't the one doing the chasing, although she was affected by Min Woo. I like to think that once they are married and Kae Hwa depends on Min Woo more, his jealousy will abate....but I'm sure he'll still childishly demand her attention at times.

I also agree that for such a light-hearted drama, it begs deep discussions. Watching OML the second time, my husband and I discussed how the story draws parallels between a relationship that seems impossible but has all the groundwork to make love last (MW & KH) and a relationship that on the surface seems like the perfect match but did not have a good basis to build from (Manager & his wife). Just this morning, we were talking about how couples can live together and still have a bad relationship, referencing Manager and his wife....too much OML on the brain!

I'm sure I am only repeating what all of you have already said :)

Hi Laucus, welcome.

Perhaps someone has already written about the same thing, but each contribution brings a different perspective and rephrasing that makes it sound fresh and new, prompting us fans, to think and reflect once more on the numerous lessons that this little gem has to offer. Thus, the beauty of OML continues to touch us.

I suppose most of us in the OMLhood are middle aged (or beyond). Having lived long enough, seen and learned a lot from life, and experienced both romantic and unconditional love (mainly through our children) helps us to better appreciate OML and where KH came from and what her priorities as a mother are.

Most of the negative comments I read about this drama were about KH's hairdo, clothes, appearance, or how they disliked the second couple's characters and story which they found boring and unnecessary, so they fast forwarded whenever they were on screen.

So sad because their story was important. The lesson being what not to do so that the relationship doesn't fall apart. Shi-joon and his wife loved each other but their marriage is ruined because of misconceptions and lack of communication.

As you continue watching OML, Laucus, please let us know what your observations and feelings of the episodes are. We'll love to read them.

Hope you had a great weekend !

@584 Lumi, you beat me to it ! I just read the review of Super Show 3 (needless to say, it's great !!!) and it mentioned about Siwon's fall; and apparently he was in pain, but being professional, he continued with the performance. The reporter joked that even the elevator can't take the heat .........as Siwon was taking off his jacket while standing on the elevator. Funny :)

Thanks for your reply. I took a look at mysoju which, of that scene, had uploaded from tudou, I believe, and it said "temper." I suppose that one's temper could be taken as acting badly, come to think of it.

Another place I can think of where the translation was a bit off, that is, missing, was in epi 16 when Kae Hwa went to drop off the deal offer to Min Woo when he was modeling. The (rather bold) girl touching up his make up offered her friend as a possible date for him (after cutting down KH - the nerve of her!). He then expressed he liked the sexy type. In addition to the disappointment I had in his failing to defend KH, I'm thinking, "What the heck?"

However, according to JB, the girl said her friend/possible date was the innocent type, and MW's reply saying he preferred the sexy type was a nice way of saying, "No thanks."

Since we're led to believe KH overheard the conversation (even though she seemed a distance away), I would be a bit miffed, too, or at least more discouraged about really being able to make a go of this relationship. I was glad for JB's explanation of that.

Howzit OML angels -

Here's a link to a press conf. with Suju on SS3. Siwon is sitting close to Leeteuk, who is speaking (so we get to see his Siwon's haircut up close). Donghae seemed to have cut his hair shorter, too. Neat that a few could help with stage directing this time around, despite the fact it meant less sleep and poorer attention paid to their teachers.

@Doraemon - Yeah, wonder if that haircut shows up in Athena... Here's a link that shows that at least when they took the stills it wasn't that short. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Sorry for always linking this site. Guess I like it a lot.

say thank you for the links. I really enjoyed them. On

SS3 press conference, it's seems only Siwon can fully

understand english, amongs the SJ and answere the

questions well. I'd been watching a lot of variety shows

were all the SJ participated. Right now i'm listening to

dvd of super show in you tube. Have a Blessed day and

GOD BLESSES YOU ALL. MAHALO .....

Hello all Angels in the OMLHood!!!! I'm still lurking just busy, as soon as I'm through I'll be back posting like crazy.
Celsa80 and I have a project we're working on and it's taking a lot of our time.. But come to think of it Celsa80 is always-always buzzzzy!!!!

Yes, our Siwon is always a trouper and will probably never show his vulnerability nor let anyone down....injured or not the show must go on... even if he has to hide the I V bag in his clothes during a performance... but he wouldn't do that either.... can't cover up that Greek god body...

I'm so glad to see that everyone still true to OML.... THANKS everyone....now I've got to go... Lacus, you're great,we'll get together for the SMTown concert... I'll get back to you... Ace, Amy, Doraemon, Kappy, Lacus, Lumi, Menci, til next time... Take care all... Enjoy OML,
Suju, Chae Rim....

Hey all!

So we have hit 600! A bit strange that because of the new format, we're not seeing it on this page, but oh well, we still hit it. Great job, everybody!

@Amy - Howzit! Fellow Hawaiian? E komo mai. Glad you could join our army of angels/haveneers/hoodies. Yes, still here, alive and kickin'. Love the links all share as well. You're welcome..

@Mel - Yes, Siwon is a trouper. To the extent of hiding the IV bag in his clothes...haha! Quite possibly! But oh, please don't deprive us of the choco abs...

To all - Stumbled upon a site that sold the OML DVD. The cover pic was different than the pics I've seen circulating as possible official covers. It said it had English translation as well, but I'm a bit leary about how it will be. It was selling for $24.95. Didn't seem official, and as much as I'd like to save some money, it's a gamble. Think I'll hold off. But when will the official one emerge? Is it taking longer than usual, or am I just overanxious? (Probably B = overanxious)

Have a great day!

Thanks for this link. Did you say you're on Soompi? Just wondering if that's how you get these so fast, 'cause when I viewed it, there were only 91 views. Nice song, nice voice, nice everything..

Yes, kappy.

Soompi is a great site to find quickly up-to-date info on my favorite k-entertainers, tv shows, etc. A very dedicated and hardworking Su Ju fan/angel posted a ton of links to the fancams of SS3 that were available.

Hi all -

Found a link that took some work to find, being that I don't understand the Korean language too well, esp. written. It's of the man of the hour, of course, in different, candid shots while doing Strong Heart. Love the one when he's laughing and crunching his hands to his face!

Okay, I just tested that link (at my comment #595) and saw that it didn't take me to the page I wanted. So...go to the bottom of that page, click on 6 (amongst the row of numbers from 1 to 10), then click on Siwon's picture. (He's number 293, but don't click on the number 'cause it doesn't do the job). Enjoy!

Hi, This Vhladynineer back from Seoul SS3! Amazing amazing concert, too bad Siwon got into that accident at the second show. It happened right at section 8 to the left of our seats (we were second row section 7) so yeah, my eyes were trained on him after that the whole time because I want to make sure he was ok. :( I am pretty sure I caught him limping at one point but what happened was probably just a sprain that healed quickly. :)

Regarding OML, it wasn't the most deep of all Kdramas out there but I really loved the whole development of their "love story" since it was more of tied with the maturity of Minwoo and his acceptance of his child. Actually, it is more of a family oriented drama to me than a love story which was fine with. I would love to see how their married life would be like hahaha....

Will probably post a longer account Soompi. On another OML news, I went to the Smoothie King branch in Apkugeong where he shot his scenes for OML hahahah.... I'll show pic at his soompi site later when I have time to do a proper account of my trip. :)

Oh wow, you've been to the concert and seen Siwon up close! So envious. I would not dare to attend SJ concerts. The ELFs scare the Ahjumma-me! LOL.

I have been reading all the comments and enjoyed all the links here, so thanks everyone in OMLHood. Nice to know we share the same symptoms. Dragged to finish Bad Guy and still way behind with CH. Just can't seem to find the same liking that I had for OML. Still re-watching the episodes from time to time.

@enjoydrama - I'm envious, too. And as a fellow ahjumma, no worries. We could handle, no prob, at a concert! We'll just come equipped with two buckets of water...haha.

It's nice to learn of more and more people who enjoy OML as we do.

@vhlady - Oh, you lucky girl! Second row? As in, right behind the first? Waaaaa... Aw, Siwon was maybe limping for a bit? Goodness...as Mel said, what a trouper.

Agree with your assessment of OML. I would also have loved to see how their married life would be. For instance, the romantic in me wouldn't have minded a scene of some pretend-accidental-but-really-intentional skinship that they're (both equally) trying to sneak in because of his tight schedule. Not heavy stuff, of course! That wouldn't pass for the practical ahjumma in her or the public, top star image of his. You know - the little displays of affection two can share when they really love each other. Ahh, in-my-mind fanfic stuff, I guess.

Neat that you went to that Smoothie King. You make me want to register on Soompi. Maybe...

lunch or something. I'll keep in touch. Have a blessed
