Awesome song of the day, I'm just getting into Arcade Fire after accidentally leaving my tv on PBS, and watching a live preformance from Austin City Limits.
On to dramas, I won't lie, my hope built a little bit for Playful Kiss after seeing that extended trailer. I like that the main girl is strong and has some feistiness to her. That was probably the biggest issue I had with the Taiwanese drama, if she had been feisty and ready to defend herself, the being a jerk would have been more tolerable. In terms of the lead boy not being able to act, eh. I mean, unless they are just really bad, it's not a big deal for me. I guess especially for a story like this one, which I don't think is this really new or epic drama.
But I'm going back and forth with Woman Who Still Wants to Marry and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. The first is really wonderful, Kim Bum! The second is amazing, I've only seen the first episode but your recaps are awesome!

From what we know via this blog, Han Ye Seul was being tossed around to play her character and the project as a whole is having some difficulties. I think that its mostly financial, so getting it off the ground has been near impossible. However, I'm hopeful that before he finishes his upcoming drama, we'll hear some good news in that arena.
I was really forward to that movie, over this role that he's slated for at the moment, so I pray it works out.

Happy OT everyone! I am having fits of exultant laughter right now! I got one of my friends hooked on K drama! We both "work" in the computer lab at our school, and every time she would come in to relieve me, she would kind of roll her eyes at whatever drama I was watching.
But oh how the mighty has fallen. A week or so ago she was channel surfing, and came upon MBC showing a drama. She was riveted, it was soooo funny and look at all the hijinks. She was hooked, but she didn't catch the shows name. She tried to find it to no avail, and suffered all the agony of withdrawl - especially intense because well she was just at the stage of wonder and discovery.
I ran into her yesterday, and the following conversation issued.
friend:" I like Korean dramas right now. But I can't find it anywhere I don't know the name..."
me: "just tell me what it"s about."
friend: ' I can't really explain it, the guy is an architect but not really.."
Me: "I don't need to know anymore. I know what it is."
So I hied her off to dramafever, pulled up Personal Taste and gave her the password for my premium account. We were just friends before, but now I have the feeling that we are going to be soulmates. 'Cause the bonds of K drama addictions are unbreakable! :)

I don't feel so silly now being addicted.I am on days off today and called my cousin who lives like 3000+km away and her husband was suffering from KD withdrawels.We can't get good legal subbed copies of KD drama...sigh.
Anyway I agreed to download all 20 ep of City Hall (fansubbed) and she gets it off my Mediafire files.I feel as if I am such a geek.However I only became like this post KD addiction.
I keep telling other people who buy DVD sets that the subs sucked that it's better when you actually get an accurate translation.KBS at the moment produces the worst subs EVER!! The person(s) translating needs to be sacked.
I wish! My brilliant flashes of intuition and information synthesis happens only when K dramas are concerned. I kinda feel guilty about getting her hooked though. She is studying for the mcats and she still needs to take physics and orgo II this year...........a very very bad time to discover K drama. Lucky for me, I discovered Hana Yori Dango during summer...... ah my first drama, so many nostalgic memories! :)

Great song of the day. Their new album is mindbogglingly good, and dare I say it, the best North American record in the last 10 years. I would rabble on about Arcade Fire, but I shall control myself. Looking forward to Playful Kiss, but I have been disenchanted as of late with the K-drama scene. Lately I've revisiting the good days of Coffee Prince and Kim Sam-Soon. The recaps of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho are enticing, but I'm waiting until it ends, so I can have myself sleepless weekend.
I need to have my confession today. Well, I'm a teacher, and 2 days ago, I almost tempted to confess my kdrama addiction in a class full of students. A subject of favourite tv shows came up in the class discussion and a few of the 18-year-old students started to mention kdramas and gave synopsis of few of them..
..and I found myself getting really excited, and started to correct them on the drama plots, the actors name and such. At one time, I was so close to brief them the differences between historical sageuk and fusion sageuk, but stopped myself before things got any weirder. *sigh* I seriously need to practice self-control.
Really, how was it received? Last semester, I had this really cool, tight knit workshop class, so I felt comfortable talking to them about my Kdrama obsession. I wrote an entire short story based on that one scene from Cinderella's sister; when the guy tries to grab Moon, but missed and tookcout her hair pin and all her hair came tumbling down. That was so eerily beautiful.
And whenever I got carried away, I would appeal to the lone Korean girl who was also in the class. She would just look at me in bewilderment, and say "Viola I don't watch dramas!" The teacher referred to me for the rest of the semester as the Kdrama girl. ;) It really is an addiction.
okay. now I'm having the fear of being found out by a student. :D
p/s Don't tell the other teachers that I only pretended to do online research. It's so hard to suppress giggles watching MGIAG & reading the recaps while pretending to have a serious online discussion with a fake supervisor.. ;p

Happy Fridayyyyyyyy!!! It has been a long couple of weeks. I think I missed OT last week too. Just too much work to do. But, omo omo omo, MGiaG has been making the weeks bearable. I'm not even minding the weeklong wait between eppies cuz I just do rewatches of the old ones. SMA is beyond amazing. I can't even describe what a complete joy it is to watch her as MiHo. She has such range of emotion and facial expressions ... it's just fantastic :)
The Hye-In noona on the other hand.... I didn't like her in the bits of BOF i saw her in (where she wasn't an evil villian), and i don't like her now. Something about her just irritates me to no end. Maybe cuz she is just so princessy and entitled. Ugh. can't stand that.
And Gumiho Hunter - umm... anybody else think he is WAY too pretty? I mean, he is kind of otherworldly pretty. Throw a wig on him and he's prettier than most girls I know. Hell, shave his head and he's probably prettier than most girls still! Sigh, I'm just jealous of his utterly flawless skin. What I'd do for poreless skin, you don't even know lols.

Sunday: not-so-good feeling: sore throat which progressed to a progressive body weakness
in-between: fever while on an aircon...I know it's stupid, but some stupid neighbors were up all night on their effing rented videoke machine on the fXXing street!!!
Monday:
-38.3 Celsius FEVER!!! As a result, whole day bed rest in exchange of a one day absent. DX
-(then there's just this one eensy weensy incident involving a bus on a wide grandstand, STUPID POLICEMEN, and widespread panic & pandemonium...nothing too great, really, when you've got a country against you, NO~)
Tuesday: besides stressful activities when I got back from my absence, I made my own sim card rejected!!! GRR!!!

-First Wives' Club - yes, I heart this drama. My fave moment: episode 63, when Han Won-soo was violently knocking on Na Hwa-shin (with the adorably cute Goo Se-joo)'s rooftop flat, due to the lights going out (suspiciously?), and Won-soo's jealousy (if you could call it...meh :P) kicking in, and Se-joo (not Mishil, XD) coming out dressed (or rather, making it look like) in only his untucked & unbuttoned dress shirt for all the world (and the neighbors & fangirls O_O) to see. I laugh like crazy... XD

So last week I bonded with my little brother over Avatar: The Last Airbender after noticing in past OT's that some of you great people are fans and hearing complaints of the general crappiness of the movie through friends. And I have to say, I LOVED it save for the disjointed feel of s3. And I'm totally disappointed that Zutara didn't end up together. Was I a blind viewer or did I sense some SERIOUS chemistry in practically every scene they were in together?? I feel like I've been watching a kdrama that screwed up the OTP and left a huge, messy goo of WTFery behind...
And now, wonderful OTers and lovers of A:tLA, I ask you to guide me in the only way of healing my defeated expectations: what Zutara fanfics do you recommend? :)
I've always wanted Zuko & Ty Lee to end up together! It's like in Kdramas where the old male lead changes after falling in love with the energetic and loveably female lead. The writers have obviously never seen any kdramas -sigh-

I don't pick what drama to watch base on its rating (whether it comes from JB/GF or other rating source), although it is one of the consideration. I usually choose after I read the recap, if it is good, and suit my personal taste, I really considerate to watch it. So I'm wondering the reason behind you,JB pick one drama to recap among other or invite someone to recap one drama than you do it yourself?
I rely on your recap glossary right now (write them down and go searching for them)
I've come to the place where I can't watch without subs... I was watching 'cliff hanger- next episodes' Raw, and then watching with subs when they came out. BUT - what is happening is .... on some level I am understanding more than I thought. When I watch the subs it it feels like I've watched with subs already. Is really really exciting and scary at the same time.
This is truly k-drama addiction :) I can live with it.

Yikes! Another week passed by. I seem to mark time now by OT on Friday. My son's cats have come to stay until Labor Day, so they have taken over my "drama den" leaving the computers, TV, DVD, WDTVLive & me all huddled into my "office" which gets pretty warm. For the first time ever, I am watching dramas that are still airing & don't have all their subtitles done, so no marathoning. So far enjoying MGiaG and really liking IAL. Filling in the free time with Jdramas - Jikou Keisatsu 2, which I find absolutely hilarious but my husband can hardly be forced to watch even when I beg, and Samurai High School, which is silly but cute & I wouldn't ask anyone to watch.

In less than a week, I'll be in class doing my 2nd and final year of grad school. I've signed up for some interesting classes this semester, but they are also the classes that require the most work- so I'm both looking forward and NOT looking forward to it.
After spending a good chunk of the last two months stressing over a project a work, recently airing dramas like My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Zhong Wu Yen (I can't stop drooling over Chris Wu), and Hotaru no Hikari season 2 are a good way to end the summer and to transition me to a new school year. I think I'm more productive when I have something to look forward to each week. MGIAG is for the midweek and ZWY and HnH2 for the weekend!
I can't wait for Playful Kiss and Sungkyungwan )Scandal- though I think I may have to draw the line at watching too many things at once. As much as I am looking forward to Playful Kiss and as much as I know that ratings don't define a drama's success or enjoyment, I'm hoping PK ratings don't cut into the MGIAG ratings. I really want MGIAG to sort of 'win' because it's an original story. I was just thinking about how all movies now are based on comic books, novels, and previously films (like sequels to/remakes of previous films) and how awesome Inception is for being a successful original movie this summer. Someone took the time to create a new world that we've never seen before.
Good luck with your grad school! I finished mine last year, and recently went back into the working world. I got seriously addicted to kdrama when I was in grad school and they helped me a lot in dealing with stress and classes. (I even thank them in my thesis LOL). Nowadays its mostly work, so I usually had my kdrama doses during weekends.
Next week I'll have my first korean lesson whixh is making me giddy and I've also decided on trying to pass the JLPT so I need to seriously start cramming some kanji into my brain!
My school starts on monday which is depressing back to class and to teachers who have several favorites in class which sucks to the rest of us.
I thought that at uni level there wouldn't be any teachers pets but I was wrong.
But on another positive note I have 1,5 years left and then I can try getting work in Japan or Korea.

I'm actually taking a GIANT break and giving my drama buddy a few days to catch up. We are meeting up for a wedding next weekend so my hopes are we'll be able to watch some eps together. But time is limited. I'm allotting 4 days to get through 23 eps. I think I'm being rather lenient too. We'll see how it pans out.
Other than that I'm a faithful GG recap reader, while I'm trying to finish Tamra without stabbing William in the face, pick Jejoongwon back up(now that it should be added to DF), finish Code Blue 2 & both seasons of Blood Monday, then revisit some dramas I've loved like Biscuit Teacher and CHANGE. It sounds busy but it really isn't, I'll be GIANT withdrawing by Mon ;)
i haven't come into an OT in ages--mostly because its a time suck. (sorry) but i'm home with a sick kid so . . .
i'm skipping MGIAG for now so i can build up epis. keeping up with IAL tho and i'm absolutely addicted to queen seon duk. BIDAM! MISHIL! YUSHIN! this is my first historical drama (after HONG GIL DONG--fusion history) and i'm totally hooked!
QSD was my introduction to kdramas. Just discovered it this past summer and loved it so much I'm re-watching it. Although the later episodes ~ 52 on ~ are kind of boring. I just skip on to the last ep and mourn over what happens.

Tried watching an old kdrama - Goodbye Solo. It took only ten minutes for me to hate everyone. That's a new record for me. How did this thing even get on the air?
Its pretty good drama. If its not your thing obviously its not going to be love but the writing, 80-90% of the acting, the directing is fantastic and there are many people on this board who are thankful it got aired.
On the other hand there are a handful of dramas this year that I would have loved not to have watched or taken air time (or my time).

how did u guys watched that drama? dont u just HAAAAATTTEEE that grandma and president? they're totally evil and bias! but how can the drama makes them like they're not at fault at all. no wonder the the wife are turning evil. and look how bias they treat the grandson... i mean, i can understand why the boy turnout to be a bad man later.
i wish i never watched the 1st couples of episodes and just jumped to later episodes so i didnt know the base of the story which is completely unjust. only that way i could enjoy this drama.
maybe after some weeks when i forgot about this, i'll try to watch it again but skipped several first episodes.. :-/

I have so often been dissapointed by the lazy/rushed scripts (ie BAD GUY) that I want to praise the woman who is a well known veteran for a fantastic show so far about all the characters. It is a good family story.

Anyhow, I wonder what the movie is all about? It's been a busy day again. Incorporating all Kdrama watching in my daily life is highly demanding. Finally, I've all caught up with IAL & MGiG. No more marathon, thank God.

I can never get to OT at a good time because in my neck of the woods it is sleeping time when it is posted!
But I decided to comment today anyway. First time (I think...)!
Exhausting week, so many drama rehearsals (physical theatre rehearsals no less- to me the term physical theatre is now synonomous with pain...) but we have finally finished the show, only a few more weeks of rehearsing and we will present it!
Been working on it essentially since May so it is quite a long time coming.
And another exhausting week on the horizon, QCS (AHHHHHHH!!!!!) then exam block, as well as lots of babysitting and more rehearsals- why does my out of school life always get busy exam block time?
Oh well, I have kdramas to cheer me up!
I am absolutely in love with My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and so excited about Playful Kiss and Sungkyunkwan Scandal!
Please be good, shows. I am such a sucker for school dramas.

Awesome song of the day, I'm just getting into Arcade Fire after accidentally leaving my tv on PBS, and watching a live preformance from Austin City Limits.
On to dramas, I won't lie, my hope built a little bit for Playful Kiss after seeing that extended trailer. I like that the main girl is strong and has some feistiness to her. That was probably the biggest issue I had with the Taiwanese drama, if she had been feisty and ready to defend herself, the being a jerk would have been more tolerable. In terms of the lead boy not being able to act, eh. I mean, unless they are just really bad, it's not a big deal for me. I guess especially for a story like this one, which I don't think is this really new or epic drama.
But I'm going back and forth with Woman Who Still Wants to Marry and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. The first is really wonderful, Kim Bum! The second is amazing, I've only seen the first episode but your recaps are awesome!

From what we know via this blog, Han Ye Seul was being tossed around to play her character and the project as a whole is having some difficulties. I think that its mostly financial, so getting it off the ground has been near impossible. However, I'm hopeful that before he finishes his upcoming drama, we'll hear some good news in that arena.
I was really forward to that movie, over this role that he's slated for at the moment, so I pray it works out.

Did you see the pictures of the 1000+kgs of rice donated for the less priviledged.They were from fans from 11 countries.I was blown away.I thought it was totall awesome.Sacks and sacks of rice underneath a flower stand and the country's flags.
The rows of goodie bags were a long long line.Who got those at the press conference?There were not enough cast members there.It was close to a hundred packs or was it more?
And MBC released the photos.KHJ is so much cuter and hot 2 years later.He is HOT :-)

Happy OT everyone! I am having fits of exultant laughter right now! I got one of my friends hooked on K drama! We both "work" in the computer lab at our school, and every time she would come in to relieve me, she would kind of roll her eyes at whatever drama I was watching.
But oh how the mighty has fallen. A week or so ago she was channel surfing, and came upon MBC showing a drama. She was riveted, it was soooo funny and look at all the hijinks. She was hooked, but she didn't catch the shows name. She tried to find it to no avail, and suffered all the agony of withdrawl - especially intense because well she was just at the stage of wonder and discovery.
I ran into her yesterday, and the following conversation issued.
friend:" I like Korean dramas right now. But I can't find it anywhere I don't know the name..."
me: "just tell me what it"s about."
friend: ' I can't really explain it, the guy is an architect but not really.."
Me: "I don't need to know anymore. I know what it is."
So I hied her off to dramafever, pulled up Personal Taste and gave her the password for my premium account. We were just friends before, but now I have the feeling that we are going to be soulmates. 'Cause the bonds of K drama addictions are unbreakable! :)

I don't feel so silly now being addicted.I am on days off today and called my cousin who lives like 3000+km away and her husband was suffering from KD withdrawels.We can't get good legal subbed copies of KD drama...sigh.
Anyway I agreed to download all 20 ep of City Hall (fansubbed) and she gets it off my Mediafire files.I feel as if I am such a geek.However I only became like this post KD addiction.
I keep telling other people who buy DVD sets that the subs sucked that it's better when you actually get an accurate translation.KBS at the moment produces the worst subs EVER!! The person(s) translating needs to be sacked.

I wish! My brilliant flashes of intuition and information synthesis happens only when K dramas are concerned. I kinda feel guilty about getting her hooked though. She is studying for the mcats and she still needs to take physics and orgo II this year...........a very very bad time to discover K drama. Lucky for me, I discovered Hana Yori Dango during summer...... ah my first drama, so many nostalgic memories! :)

Great song of the day. Their new album is mindbogglingly good, and dare I say it, the best North American record in the last 10 years. I would rabble on about Arcade Fire, but I shall control myself. Looking forward to Playful Kiss, but I have been disenchanted as of late with the K-drama scene. Lately I've revisiting the good days of Coffee Prince and Kim Sam-Soon. The recaps of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho are enticing, but I'm waiting until it ends, so I can have myself sleepless weekend.

I need to have my confession today. Well, I'm a teacher, and 2 days ago, I almost tempted to confess my kdrama addiction in a class full of students. A subject of favourite tv shows came up in the class discussion and a few of the 18-year-old students started to mention kdramas and gave synopsis of few of them..
..and I found myself getting really excited, and started to correct them on the drama plots, the actors name and such. At one time, I was so close to brief them the differences between historical sageuk and fusion sageuk, but stopped myself before things got any weirder. *sigh* I seriously need to practice self-control.

Really, how was it received? Last semester, I had this really cool, tight knit workshop class, so I felt comfortable talking to them about my Kdrama obsession. I wrote an entire short story based on that one scene from Cinderella's sister; when the guy tries to grab Moon, but missed and tookcout her hair pin and all her hair came tumbling down. That was so eerily beautiful.
And whenever I got carried away, I would appeal to the lone Korean girl who was also in the class. She would just look at me in bewilderment, and say "Viola I don't watch dramas!" The teacher referred to me for the rest of the semester as the Kdrama girl. ;) It really is an addiction.

Happy Fridayyyyyyyy!!! It has been a long couple of weeks. I think I missed OT last week too. Just too much work to do. But, omo omo omo, MGiaG has been making the weeks bearable. I'm not even minding the weeklong wait between eppies cuz I just do rewatches of the old ones. SMA is beyond amazing. I can't even describe what a complete joy it is to watch her as MiHo. She has such range of emotion and facial expressions ... it's just fantastic :)
The Hye-In noona on the other hand.... I didn't like her in the bits of BOF i saw her in (where she wasn't an evil villian), and i don't like her now. Something about her just irritates me to no end. Maybe cuz she is just so princessy and entitled. Ugh. can't stand that.
And Gumiho Hunter - umm... anybody else think he is WAY too pretty? I mean, he is kind of otherworldly pretty. Throw a wig on him and he's prettier than most girls I know. Hell, shave his head and he's probably prettier than most girls still! Sigh, I'm just jealous of his utterly flawless skin. What I'd do for poreless skin, you don't even know lols.

Last Friday I went to an interview.
On this Tuesday I got the job.

This week (actually 4 1/2 days) had been an exhausting one...XP
last Friday:
-didn't get to participate in OT149
-my Nokia 6600 broke down after my 1 yr++ usage (it just went off like that, and when I try opening it, it acts weirdly: on & off & on & off until it offs itself...
-voiced to my mothr that I may need a new cellphone...maybe a Samsung Corby??? (yes, I'm still on YAB HEAVEN!! WAHAHAHA!!!)
Sunday: not-so-good feeling: sore throat which progressed to a progressive body weakness
in-between: fever while on an aircon...I know it's stupid, but some stupid neighbors were up all night on their effing rented videoke machine on the fXXing street!!!
Monday:
-38.3 Celsius FEVER!!! As a result, whole day bed rest in exchange of a one day absent. DX
-(then there's just this one eensy weensy incident involving a bus on a wide grandstand, STUPID POLICEMEN, and widespread panic & pandemonium...nothing too great, really, when you've got a country against you, NO~)
Tuesday: besides stressful activities when I got back from my absence, I made my own sim card rejected!!! GRR!!!
(the prepaid load got wasted!!!)

-First Wives' Club - yes, I heart this drama. My fave moment: episode 63, when Han Won-soo was violently knocking on Na Hwa-shin (with the adorably cute Goo Se-joo)'s rooftop flat, due to the lights going out (suspiciously?), and Won-soo's jealousy (if you could call it...meh :P) kicking in, and Se-joo (not Mishil, XD) coming out dressed (or rather, making it look like) in only his untucked & unbuttoned dress shirt for all the world (and the neighbors & fangirls O_O) to see. I laugh like crazy... XD

Yeah I felt like Park Shi Hye's cameo was slightly out of character or has Mi Nyeo changed? She seemed different especially the part when she turned away from the hoi couple to get off the bus; she looked pissed (?). Yeah didn't expect that from Mi Nyeo...

I watched the 1st episode of Secret Investigation & re-read DB's recaps....interesting storyline...loved the setting...& most importantly...fell in LOVE all over again with Kim Ji Hoon!!!

Happy OT Friday y'all!
Going back to college on Sunday (tears)...I shall mourn the demise of my slothful existence of summer.
So last week I bonded with my little brother over Avatar: The Last Airbender after noticing in past OT's that some of you great people are fans and hearing complaints of the general crappiness of the movie through friends. And I have to say, I LOVED it save for the disjointed feel of s3. And I'm totally disappointed that Zutara didn't end up together. Was I a blind viewer or did I sense some SERIOUS chemistry in practically every scene they were in together?? I feel like I've been watching a kdrama that screwed up the OTP and left a huge, messy goo of WTFery behind...
And now, wonderful OTers and lovers of A:tLA, I ask you to guide me in the only way of healing my defeated expectations: what Zutara fanfics do you recommend? :)

Happy weekend everyone...Almost midnight here
This maybe my last weekend in town, must be going to some remote place that I can not imagine how the place will be like.There's possibility I won't be able to get internet access and up dating kdrama for 1 year. Ahh I will get my kdrama withdrawal syndrome soon. Hiks.
I plan to buy kdrama dvds as much as I can (with big hope there will be electricity in my new place). So I'm open for any suggestion now.
And anyway to JB:
I don't pick what drama to watch base on its rating (whether it comes from JB/GF or other rating source), although it is one of the consideration. I usually choose after I read the recap, if it is good, and suit my personal taste, I really considerate to watch it. So I'm wondering the reason behind you,JB pick one drama to recap among other or invite someone to recap one drama than you do it yourself?
I rely on your recap glossary right now (write them down and go searching for them)

Hi everyone,
I've come to the place where I can't watch without subs... I was watching 'cliff hanger- next episodes' Raw, and then watching with subs when they came out. BUT - what is happening is .... on some level I am understanding more than I thought. When I watch the subs it it feels like I've watched with subs already. Is really really exciting and scary at the same time.
This is truly k-drama addiction :) I can live with it.

Yikes! Another week passed by. I seem to mark time now by OT on Friday. My son's cats have come to stay until Labor Day, so they have taken over my "drama den" leaving the computers, TV, DVD, WDTVLive & me all huddled into my "office" which gets pretty warm. For the first time ever, I am watching dramas that are still airing & don't have all their subtitles done, so no marathoning. So far enjoying MGiaG and really liking IAL. Filling in the free time with Jdramas - Jikou Keisatsu 2, which I find absolutely hilarious but my husband can hardly be forced to watch even when I beg, and Samurai High School, which is silly but cute & I wouldn't ask anyone to watch.

In less than a week, I'll be in class doing my 2nd and final year of grad school. I've signed up for some interesting classes this semester, but they are also the classes that require the most work- so I'm both looking forward and NOT looking forward to it.
After spending a good chunk of the last two months stressing over a project a work, recently airing dramas like My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Zhong Wu Yen (I can't stop drooling over Chris Wu), and Hotaru no Hikari season 2 are a good way to end the summer and to transition me to a new school year. I think I'm more productive when I have something to look forward to each week. MGIAG is for the midweek and ZWY and HnH2 for the weekend!
I can't wait for Playful Kiss and Sungkyungwan )Scandal- though I think I may have to draw the line at watching too many things at once. As much as I am looking forward to Playful Kiss and as much as I know that ratings don't define a drama's success or enjoyment, I'm hoping PK ratings don't cut into the MGIAG ratings. I really want MGIAG to sort of 'win' because it's an original story. I was just thinking about how all movies now are based on comic books, novels, and previously films (like sequels to/remakes of previous films) and how awesome Inception is for being a successful original movie this summer. Someone took the time to create a new world that we've never seen before.

Good luck with your grad school! I finished mine last year, and recently went back into the working world. I got seriously addicted to kdrama when I was in grad school and they helped me a lot in dealing with stress and classes. (I even thank them in my thesis LOL). Nowadays its mostly work, so I usually had my kdrama doses during weekends.

Next week I'll have my first korean lesson whixh is making me giddy and I've also decided on trying to pass the JLPT so I need to seriously start cramming some kanji into my brain!
My school starts on monday which is depressing back to class and to teachers who have several favorites in class which sucks to the rest of us.
I thought that at uni level there wouldn't be any teachers pets but I was wrong.
But on another positive note I have 1,5 years left and then I can try getting work in Japan or Korea.

Welcome ALL newcomers! Its always great to see that someone else is joining the team, addicting someone new or such blame sharing the news :)
I'm actually taking a GIANT break and giving my drama buddy a few days to catch up. We are meeting up for a wedding next weekend so my hopes are we'll be able to watch some eps together. But time is limited. I'm allotting 4 days to get through 23 eps. I think I'm being rather lenient too. We'll see how it pans out.
Other than that I'm a faithful GG recap reader, while I'm trying to finish Tamra without stabbing William in the face, pick Jejoongwon back up(now that it should be added to DF), finish Code Blue 2 & both seasons of Blood Monday, then revisit some dramas I've loved like Biscuit Teacher and CHANGE. It sounds busy but it really isn't, I'll be GIANT withdrawing by Mon ;)

Its pretty good drama. If its not your thing obviously its not going to be love but the writing, 80-90% of the acting, the directing is fantastic and there are many people on this board who are thankful it got aired.
On the other hand there are a handful of dramas this year that I would have loved not to have watched or taken air time (or my time).

hi,
i tried watching baker king through many recommendation here, but i dont know.. i stopped at eps 2 or 3 and couldnt force myself anymore.
how did u guys watched that drama? dont u just HAAAAATTTEEE that grandma and president? they're totally evil and bias! but how can the drama makes them like they're not at fault at all. no wonder the the wife are turning evil. and look how bias they treat the grandson... i mean, i can understand why the boy turnout to be a bad man later.
i wish i never watched the 1st couples of episodes and just jumped to later episodes so i didnt know the base of the story which is completely unjust. only that way i could enjoy this drama.
maybe after some weeks when i forgot about this, i'll try to watch it again but skipped several first episodes.. :-/

Took the day off work to run a bajillion errands involving the kids back to school needs (who knew Kindergarteners and Pre-Ks have crap I need to buy?).
Wonderful day, made even more excellent by the first article I read when I flipped open the paper:
J-rumor of the day: Keiko has been caught cheating on YamaPi (ooops, since they never confessed to be dating, not sure if Pi has any leg to stand on here), with none other than hottie of the summer.....Mukai Osamu (none other than everyone's fave second male lead Seno-kun).
I LOL'd, because other than Jin getting kicked out of (ooops, I mean voluntarily leaving) KAT-TUN, there has been no scandals of late. I think it's a crock of baloney, of course, since Keiko and Mukai are making a new movie together, hence the dinner at a beer hall and close-encounters of the cute kind. ;-)
I am definitely looking forward to that movie!

and Life is Beautiful which is awesome because of the
writer, hardly a wrong note in the whole series, given the problem of a gay subject in primetime. I have so often been dissapointed by the lazy/rushed scripts (ie BAD GUY) that I want to praise the woman who is a well known veteran for a fantastic show so far about all the characters. It is a good family story.

Anyhow, I wonder what the movie is all about? It's been a busy day again. Incorporating all Kdrama watching in my daily life is highly demanding. Finally, I've all caught up with IAL & MGiG. No more marathon, thank God.

I can never get to OT at a good time because in my neck of the woods it is sleeping time when it is posted!
But I decided to comment today anyway. First time (I think...)!
Exhausting week, so many drama rehearsals (physical theatre rehearsals no less- to me the term physical theatre is now synonomous with pain...) but we have finally finished the show, only a few more weeks of rehearsing and we will present it!
Been working on it essentially since May so it is quite a long time coming.
And another exhausting week on the horizon, QCS (AHHHHHHH!!!!!) then exam block, as well as lots of babysitting and more rehearsals- why does my out of school life always get busy exam block time?
Oh well, I have kdramas to cheer me up!
I am absolutely in love with My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and so excited about Playful Kiss and Sungkyunkwan Scandal!
Please be good, shows. I am such a sucker for school dramas.
