I was so thrown when I saw MGY because I still have Eun-jo floating around in my head. But here she looks Luna Lovegood-esque which I abso-freaking-lutely love. I can't get over how different she looks! It's not just the styling it's how she carries herself, I-I can't wait!

I think that for the boys as far as being "manly" or traditionally masculine, I don't think that in terms of appearance or styling either fit the bill, but to me KJW has more masculine mannerisms. While JGS tends to be a bit more girly.

for the love of Jang Geun-seok!! ohmegawd! dudes whats up with his hair!I like him pretty but this is pushing the extreme prettiness/feminine envelope. Le sigh.

speaking of, i think there's a point in the manga where JGS's character cuts his hair (like Momo in Kimi Wa Petto! lol) so maybe we'll get our wish for a shorter-haired JGS. doubt we'll see any fashion changes though, so i think we need to accept that JGS will always confuse us and love him as is

Hmm... I find that JGS's character has that "I'm going for the jpop idol look" with his hair - long & slightly wavy & dyed. EEEKKK. But I guess that's in line with asian rockers. A lot of them have that kind of hairstyle. I must agree that it does tend to hide his pretty face! Besides, I'm partial to short-hair on guys.

MGY - woah - I really had to do some double takes to recognize her. I like the long hair but hmm... I don't know. I think she's looks fine... just interested in her character to see how she is.

I agree. All 4 of them look very manhwa-ish! Especially the 2nd male! And JGS looks quite good in there...the hairstyle suits him.

Hate to add to the chorus of styling complaints but... the look they're sporting is far, far, quite possibly the furthest thing from the supposed boho-chic they were going for. In LA, the look that JGS is sporting belongs in the slightly trashy, slightly outdated hard rock scene: more Viper Room than Silver Lake/Echo Park. Think Guns N Roses rather than Devendra Banhart/indie folk.

I will add that this styling irk is just the latest in a string of photo shoots in which I see severe disconnect between the images produced and the supposed concept driving those images. It's as if the stylists are just bandying about terms that they've not the least clue about. I want Korean fashion - which has progressed so much on the design end - to be progressive on the styling end as well, rather than derivative of Western fashion iconography and lexicon. And in order to avoid being derivative, they need to prove that they know what they're talking about first, if they choose to use Western references. I'd rather that they get around it entirely and not constantly bandy about English terms and concepts as a facile mark of their cosmopolitanism.

Sigh. My rant comes from a place of love. Rant over.
