Joo Ji-hoon signs with Keyeast

He’s not due out of the army until November of this year, but it looks like Joo Ji-hoon (Goong, Antique Bakery) is already preparing for his comeback. Army duty can do a lot to wash a slate clean; it’s the Korean equivalent of earning your stripes as a man, and when your public image is tainted, it does the double duty of serving as penance for crimes committed.
Joo has signed with Keyeast, Bae Yong-joon‘s management company, joining the likes of Kim Hyun-joong, Lee Na-young, Choi Kang-hee, and Lee Jia, just to name a few. I know it’s a management company’s job, and Bae Yong-joon is as much a brand name as it is a person, but I have this strange image in my mind of Bae Yong-joon collecting stars like little playthings. Perhaps his role in Dream High is coloring my impression. But if that drama’s confirmed one thing for me, it’s that Bae should stick to being the behind-the-scenes puppetmaster. There is no denying this man’s brilliance in turning stardom into cold hard cash, but his performance leaves a lot to be desired. And I say this having been on the bandwagon in the nineties. It just…ain’t 1998 anymore, is it?
Regardless, it’s all good things for Joo Ji-hoon fans, who can expect a fully-manned comeback, with lots of press and a slew of new projects. Time to start making your wish lists for the drama gods.

Just yesterday I was watching some old episodes of Goong... this is fate!

JJH looks silly in that perm. I hope he doesn't come back with this look. Lose it. Yuck!
I think he was really improving his acting skills until his unfortunate drug bust. His career tanked. Hopefully, he has matured while in service and will come out of the army making better decisions and choices.
I'm happy to hear that he will return soon on 11/11/11.
Any one can make a mistake. It only really matters if you learn from it, and you make better choices and stay off drugs in the future. Welcome back. Will be waiting to see you in your next endeavor! Try your best! Fighting!

i don't like his perm..i like his goong hairstyle...i hope he will have a successful comeback...would love to see get paired with park shin hye as they are adorable in their cf way back..PSH then was 16 or 17

I watched Antique Bakery and although he left a lot to be desired in Goong, he was soooooo bloody handsome in Antique Bakery...SOOOOO droolworthy, I can't wait till he's back :D

Lol at collected Stars like playthings. I think BYJ was largely part of a trend and he hit a gold mine during the 90s with Winter Sonata. He just didnt have to prove himself after that. I remember all the aunties and my cousins going crazy over that drama. I suppose things always look better coloured in nostalgia, huh? I cant imagine some of the 90s trends making it now. And that's what BYJ was lol.
That said, I'll be interested to see how JJH fits into the current industry. The niche he carved out for himself was largely filled during his absence.

BYJ is the one who looks like an ahjumma. He gets weirder and creepier every day. His acting is, at best mediocre, so I don't know how he'd teach anybody to act.
I'm thrilled for JJH and hope he makes a rapid comeback and hope his life goes well from now on.

I agree with you. My greatest fear is KHJ becoming like him. KHJ got a great personality. He just need proper acting lessons to improve his acting, and not follow BYJ.

As for BYJ....He is a lover that left and didn't tell you it was over. At least for me. I also liked his more man image than the overly airbrushed, touched up, blotted out image. This is a very handsome man to me and he was just too prettified, went too far. I do recognize and give him props on a developed business sense. Man, that man looks good in long hair! and five o'clock shadow!!

i am so glad for this news from Joo Ji Hoon...
kekeke he is my first Korean actor Love after princess hours and the devil, then antique bakery came and I just knew he would be one of those a few who forever be endeared in my heart. though a little disappointed after the drug issues still glad he bounced back...
so glad he is in the same company with HyunJoong..!!!
his perm is kinda weird at first glance but it rew on me the longer I stared. I think him and Hyunjoong should take a picture together in PERM..!!!

OMG! Joo Hi Hoon! Quickly get your ass back into the acting career and stop doing grug abuse! I hope you've got your head back together and do your best in acting! I can't wait for the next drama! I hope it involves 'Princess Chae Kyung' :) but is it true or not that he was dating Ji Hyo before he was caught doing drug abuse...? I just hope Yoon Eun Hye could be more closer to him after the military.
