Could there BE any more stills from 49 Days?

(I just love the above shot. I love the placement, the curious look from Jung Il-woo to the soul-in-limbo, Nam Gyuri, and that’s just the plain image from the photo shoot. A finalized, photoshopped promo image ought to be mesmerizing.)

There have been a whooooole slew of stills from 49 Days, such as yesterday’s batch, and I hope this overexposure doesn’t turn potential viewers off before the drama even airs, in the way that I recall growing tired of the constant promo stream from other dramas in the past. But I’m so intrigued by this cast and premise that I’m just eating it up. (More, moar, MOAR!)

Below, we’ve got the entire (very, very pretty) main cast together, who are, from left to right in the first shot: Lee Yo-won as the hijacked body, Seo Ji-hye as a potentially villainous frenemy, Bae Soo-bin as the smart businessman fiancé, Jung Il-woo as a Reaper offering afterlife guidance, Nam Gyuri as the body-hijacking soul, and Jo Hyun-jae as an architect from the U.S.

These promo/character stills also give us a better clue into the pairings in the drama. And while we can hardly draw conclusions from mere promotional images, the stories suggested in them offer pretty good clues as to how things will unfold. For example, Jo Hyun-jae has top billing among the men and he’s paired with Lee Yo-won, so we can bet he’s the main love interest, not Bae Soo-bin, who (sigh) is again Mr. Number 2. One of these days, Bae Soo-bin, one of these days… (Just not one of these 49.)

Ha, I’d wondered what turns Seo Ji-hye from friend to rival, and I shoulda guessed it was a man. Isn’t it always the way? Again I’m drawing inferences here, but it’s pretty clear the ex-BFF moves in on her friend’s man pretty quickly after she’s out of the picture. And not in a nice, respectful, decent way: We know from all that black eyeliner. With that much kohl in play, we’ve got proof enough of her perfidy. It’s like a rule, isn’t it? (Plus, there’s those shifty side-eyes she’s making.)

Jo Hyun-jae’s still the biggest question mark for me, because we know the least about his character. It’s nice to see him back from army duty (despite the fact that he’s dropped an almost alarming amount of weight, no?), but I confess to wondering about the chemistry between him and Lee Yo-won, which I worry may be on the low end…

Why, hello there, Hot Reaper Boy. You spare lives AND you play the guitar? Swoon. Finally those curious headphones you’re always wearing make some sort of sense…sorta. But whatever, do I care? It’s ~~Iljimae~~ Jung Il-woo!

really not photoshopped!? because Nam Gyuri is looking very much like a doll in the first pic. Even though she normally look like a doll anyways but that pic especially. almost like an anime character. JHJ is looking good! I'm glad he's back and acting again :).

I'M so EXCITED to watch this one. All of my fave actors are here OMG Jo Hyun Jae, Bae Soo Bin and Jung Il Woo!! I'm going to have a major nosebleed watching this.

Nam Gyuri looks like a porcelain doll!

the 1st photo of JIW-NGR they look like mannequins. Body posture (esp of JIW) so stiff; NGR really looks like a doll.

Loving the couple photos of JHJ and LYW. I used to think that they may not have chem, but their couple photos tell a different story. I am very much onboard their team-up for this drama.

I love Seo Ji Hye, esp love her eyes.

I am so excited for this drama!!.....and yet i am hesitant, im afraid this will end up like My Princess where the first episodes were GREAT only to have the series dwindle into nothingness (although the last few episodes picked up a bit).

Hey hey, those who said LYW plays kind a boring role alyways, i think you should try her earlier drama like BLUE MIST as she became rebellion young girl who falled in love with an Ajusshi. that's kind of controversial drama theme at that time (2002), but the drama prooved that this pretty really CAN ACT.. kind a wild bratt character, so interesting..

i think she has experienced many kinds of roles, and those are so attractive..

Looks real interesting. Havent seen such an interesting cast for a long time! Love all the male leads but am not familiar with the girls at all. Didnt watch QSD and I always think Lee Yo won look old for her age. Hopefully she and Hyun Jae pull thru?

Love all the jackets! I think they got a good stylist on board!

I know what you mean- nothing turns me off something I already don't care about like early over-exposure. But since I can't wait for this drama, more stills please!

Not even trying to pretend I know about the other actors; I'm in it for Jung Il Woo. I'll watch anything he does (after Take Care of Agasshi, surely 49 Days must be an improvement). Along with specs, headphones are my bullet-proof kink. Dunno what it is about guys and headphones, but I can't get enough.

I wasn't super intrigued by the drama before, but now I think I'll give it a shot. Depends on the tone - if it leans more towards fantasy/contemplative than romance-dressed-up-as-fantasy (ahem, Secret Garden) then I'll be good. Even if it isn't awesome, I'd like to see how the whole thing plays out.

Dont be disappointed so early. Yep he certainly not the lead, but that is no guarantee he will not get the lead girl Lee Yo Won. We get this lesson from Kim Nam Gil in QSD and Park Shi Hoo in QoR. His biggest hurdle will be his role, soul of dead person. Except he back to life again, I dont know how he can work with Lee Yo Won or any girl. Still, everything in the hand of people and screenwriter, anything possible if they want it.
