Baby-Faced Beauty’s super cute trailer

The trailer for KBS’s upcoming Baby-Faced Beauty is out, and it’s really pretty adorable. Not that I was expecting it to be bad, but I just expected more of the usual trendy type stuff, not something quite so quirky and refreshing.
In case you need a refresher: Baby-Faced Beauty is about a 34-year-old woman who looks a decade younger, gets fired from her old job because of her true age, and gets hired at a new, better job where she meets her love interests (one is a CEO boss, the other a younger guy with the opposite issue, as he looks older than his relatively young years) and pursues her dream of being a fashion designer. But wouldn’tcha know, her rival in business AND in love happens to be a beautiful young woman who’s already a designer. Funny how Fate likes to mess with us.
Take a look at the preview for the drama, which follows Monday-Tuesday drama Crime Squad, and premieres May 2:
The captions read:
Jang Nara: “Absolute baby face, old maid, Lee So-young (34 years old)”
Daniel Choi: “Old-faced MD, Choi Jin-wook, has just met his worst enemy (27 years old)”
Ryu Jin: “Cold-hearted, chic CEO Seung-il (35 years old)”

Uh-oh.
This throws me into the throes of indecision: Baby-Faced Beauty is airing directly against Lie To Me, which stars Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan, two stars for whom I have a great amount of affection, and boasts an equally familiar-but-potentially-hilarious-and-adorable rom-com premise. Thanks to the internet I don’t have to choose which one to watch…but I do have to choose which gets recap duty. What to do??

Time to invoke 4th-dimension access: Bend the space-time continuum. I'm sure nothing will go wrong.
I don't think I need to urge/threaten/blackmail/bribe you to recap Lie To Me because you definitely will do it out of your love for Kang Ji Hwan. If you don't I'll take it as a very public declaration that you're already out of love *quickly go to prepare a banner, a flier, and a big party to celebrate*

But I'm afraid praying wouldn't do any good *sad face*
I have work obligations from May - July which leave me only with 4 - 5 hours free time a day not to mention that I have to be somewhere else where it's still questionable whether they have an internet access or not.
But I'll pray really hard for change anyway. If that happens perhaps I'll be able to do another Kang Ji Hwan's POV *start praying solemnly and reverently*

I love Kim Min Seo's elegant and seductive charm. Seductive in a self-confident way: it's like you look at the woman and her aura speaks to you "i don't need any man to make my life complete."
And Daniel Choi's character looks like he's easily pwned by women...even if the woman happens to be a manikin.

I'll be rooting with you. Ryu Jin was phenomenal in My Country Calls. I have hope that Baby Faced Beauty won't suck (or atleast I hope Ryu Jin doesn't).
Good luck javabeans! Sleep is wonderful so I say option four should be thrown out the window! There are so many potentially awesome dramas coming in May. Have fun choosing which to recap... though the decision may be difficult, the harder the decision just means that there are just that many more good dramas to watch!

It's absolutely INSANE how many great-looking dramas are coming up in the next month. So many that I can't even remember them all!
Of COURSE I'd love to see both shows recapped, but considering that's impossible... I'd probably have to go with Lie To Me. Yoon Eun-hye will almost always win out for me.
Am I the only one who doesn't think Daniel Choi looks older than his character's age (27?) I totally get Jang Nara being a baby face, but I think he looks around 25... which is exactly his age. How old is Daniel supposed to look, 30? 35? I'm having a hard time believing that.

As Dramabean's Yoon Eun Hye's resident fan "Numero Uno," I was going to be very, very mean to you, but I am not going to, since I do not want to start a "Flaming war," but newbies around here may not know that "Jang Nara," has never been a very loved actress her at DB, on the other hand, many a "Flaming wars," have started around here on account of her, so I can understand that you do not like Yoon Eun Hye, but categorizing her as "Terrible," is uncalled for!!!
Maybe that fact that she is Korea's "Top Paid" actress is a testimony of how terrible actress she is!!!

FYI, YEH's fans always restrain themself to put other actor/actress down to make their idol looks good. It must be the other way around. I think you should check YEH international fans site out to make sure of it.
As YEH fans I prefer you will recap LTM JB. But in the end it will be you who gonna make the decision :)

Just remember the Samsooki wars -- though jb disagreed with him, that didn't mean she didn't enjoy the friendly rebuttals. Seriously how can u call YEH a terrible actress, am not a crazy fan of YEH but ve u not seen coffee prince? I mean u can say she is young and not much experienced but terrible is a too harsh word for a fine actor like her, coz in case u haven't noticed it yet, she has great potential in her, which is y ppl like her, she can connect with ppl easily, that is sthg very important for an actor to achieve so don't judge her just by her popularity. If you dont like her, noone is forcing you, its ur choice, but calling her terrible actress just coz u dont like her is not right!

Nah Mary, I think all the guest recappers need to know straight out what they are getting themselves into. You know how tough some readers get when they don't get what they want? A few of them are brutal bullies. Who will admit to that?

1. Cleaning service
2. Part-time nanny - Manny option optional (depending on how Mrs. Samsooki feels about it)
3. Cooking done or meals sent in
4. Laundry service
This should sufficiently free up his time to watch/rewatch/write/rewrite and post the recaps.

Yes, it'd be nice if samsooki can recap his most beloved Jang Nara's comeback drama.
But if that is asking too much, then how about guest recappers for the other drama, just like you've done for Prosecutor Princess.
jb and girlfriday will probably aternately recap one and the other drama could be for guests.
it does not matter to me which one jb & gf recap.

No, it's not, I had a drought of dramas these past 2 to 3 months cus there was nothing to watch! And now all the dramas are watchable! But I guess it is better than last year... Before Secret Garden, I thought I wouldn't even have to pick my own "best drama of the year". The best technique goes to Baker King, but I don't like makjang stories!

I know Jang Nara has her fans, but I've only seen her in one thing where her high pitched voice and overuse of "cute" expressions/mannerisms really rubbed me the wrong way (I'm not talking about being naturally cute, but the fake trying too hard to be cute thing).
But this premise shows some promise so I might give this a shot.

What do you think of this idea, JB and GF:
Combine a very brief guest-written recap - not even - call it a micro-cap, and, then let us rant and rave below, OT style.
It would be a central place for the Beanies to trade plot theories, OST opinions, shipping guesses, etc.
For example - I have to say right now All That Glitters is getting really good. Except for about 35 people at soompi, who I love with all my heart, btw I'm jonesin' for a place to go with all my love for the OTP and hate for the one true witch.
To make it easy on yourself, YOU TWO get to pick which episodes from which dramas you want to do a full recap on and which only need a micro-cap. So if you know some really juicy stuff is coming up, do the ep. When the drama lags, skip it, or delegate it.

By "juicy stuff", I suppose you mean naked/half-naked shower/tub/towel scenes, rant-grab hand scenes, rant-grab-kiss scenes, rant-grab-bed scenes? Normally, minimal dialogue here so recaps can be very short.
"When the drama lags".... the rest of the drama minus above scenes.

May is definitely going to busiest month this year ever. I have to prepare to graduate, new dramas, 5 AP exams, and my plans for college this year....
I'm....full and happy that everything is going smoothly. Just so excited that I am doing so well practice exams, getting 97% of right in all of them. And I got a spring break this week, nothing could better happen. Can't wait for summer to travel.

Just wait out the first 2 eps of each and pcik whichever one you liked best though I realize this might be a problem if you like all....*sigh*...I myself dont know what to do....too many dramas to watch.....so does anyone know if 49 days wil be 16 or 20 eps?

yes 16 is too short at this point but 20 means 5 more weeks..along with Can You hear my heart and the dailies and family dramas that I'm watching, there's not one drama that will get over by the time this or best love airs....and I was even planning on starting Manny!.....otokke!!

Oh JB, your question is a no-brainer, but might involve quite a lot of cajoling and OPW done in the next two weeks.
You recap Lie to Me (its K!J!H! for crissakes), and lure samsooki out of retirement to recap Baby-faced Beauty. He's the only one who can do Jang Nara justice anyways.
I promise I won't make any JNR must die jokes, I'll leave that to belleza.

Funny how the following months look like the university finals period for you two... Essays after essays... Just funnier and without the stress of failling but with the sleepless night xD i didn't vote because i can't choose, so i'd be happy with whatever you favor in the end.
