roora's 3!4! is the song that got me into kpop when i was in middle school. i remember my mom borrowed some korean music cds/tapes from a friend to let me listen to, and i remember "burning" the cd onto a cassette tape. hahah

Well I may not be korean but my neighbors were, we lived next to each other for 8 years and Soo Min was my age. I grew up in the mid 90's soo obviously we would bond over music, I shared my love and devotion for TLC, No Doubt, Foo Fighters and Backstreet Boys while she completely warped my mind with k-music she was Really into H.O.T. and Baby Vox so I can honestly say I know almost every song up there :)
My favorites were Seo Taiji & the boys and Fin.K.L

Yay 90s! Total blast from the past. I loved "How Deep is Your Love" and really most of the songs up there. Makes me think JB is late 20s, like me, or maybe early 30s. Anyways, this blog is awesome, I check it like 10 times a day. The writing and commentary are really top notch. Makes me wonder what JB does for her day job...maybe some form of writing? This list makes me reminisce. I'm only seventeen myself, but I used to lie on my sister's bed and listen to old kpop and she's seven years older so all of these names floated around. Ah, the old days. <3

It shocks me, frightens me, and makes me feel ridic old when I talk to people who are either too young to even know of DBSK (seriously!!!11!!1) or discovered kpop after their disbandment. ;____;

Despite the horrendous hair (I remember Brian Joo of FTTS making fun of his "exploding ramen" hairstyle on Strong Heart!!!) 90s KPop was the best... All the songs were so damn catchy!!

i think you should write more of these old fogey posts! i wasn't into pop music growing up in the 90s, and besides i wasn't even 10 years old in the late 90s. but i know the song by solid, and at any rate these songs all have that 90s sound that make me so nostalgic :) i discovered a couple of good songs so thank you!

Omg, I must be an old fogey too because I remember listening to all of these growing up! Man, I was so obsessed with H.O.T. and Shinhwa, it was borderline unhealthy... Oh the good ol' 90's with the crazy hairstyles and even crazier outfits! :)

whew. I remember "Dreams Come True" by S.E.S clearly. lol, it was back in Middle school when every asian girl was dancing to that song. *haha. I miss those days.

SOOO many great memories. I was like in 1st or 2nd grade during these times, but the memories of running in the countryside with all my gradeschool friends in korea is so impressive. GRAHH. greatest summer songs ever.
