javabeans: Wait so Kim Haneul is doing You’re My Pet remake AND the Absolute Boyfriend remake?

girlfriday: What’s Absolute Boyfriend?

javabeans: It’s another Japanese manga that’s been adapted over and over again and is up for a K-drama remake. The heroine has a robot boyfriend. Literally a robot.

girlfriday: Does not compute. He’s a robot? Like a cyborg? This is the premise?

javabeans: She orders one to her specification, and then he develops some sort of AI form of emotion, so that he’s got his “own” thoughts and feelings.

girlfriday: Am I supposed to find this creepy?

javabeans: No, but you probably should.

girlfriday: I’m feeling wrong feelings, and not the good kind. I mean, unless we’re in like full-on Cylon territory or something.

javabeans: Sorry, no Battlestars here. Or Galactici.

girlfriday: Well then I’m back to finding the Acme Robot Factory really creepy.

javabeans: Does Kim Haneul just really want a career in Japan? The Pet movie releases in November, then right away Absolute Boyfriend drama series starts filming in December. Isn’t this how we get pigeonholed? It’s like doing Fantastic Four, and then, uh… X-men. Or Batman and then Superman.

girlfriday: What? You did NOT just group those franchises together!

javabeans: Not you too? I was just going to say that my brother would probably be able to break down that statement for all the ways it is factually and canonically erroneous, but that I wasn’t gonna give a damn.

girlfriday: I was just gonna say how some go in the SUCK pile while others go in the AWESOME pile.

javabeans: And I was just gonna say how some people take comic books really seriously. Say, into unhealthy territory.

girlfriday: AT LEAST I DON’T ORDER ROBOTS.

javabeans: That insult isn’t even logically consistent.

girlfriday: Neither is your face.

javabeans: Soooo mature. You talk to your fake robot boyfriend with that mouth?

girlfriday: *hmph*

javabeans: But really, TOP as the boyfriend? Isn’t he a little…scary for that role? That might make more sense if he were supposed to be Terminator Boyfriend.

girlfriday: Haha. It would be really funny if he had a Terminator mode. Okay, I can’t be the only person who’s going to ask this… is he… a sexbot? Like is that what he’s built for?

javabeans: This is broadcast, not Skinemax. I can’t see MBC potentially okaying the raunchy adventures of Lady and her Trampbot.

girlfriday: HA. How did Kim Haneul get branded as the career woman who can’t manage a love life and has to resort to ordering a pet/robot/domesticated boytoy to help unleash the wild child inside? Because the logical step after internet dating is what, frankensteining your own?

javabeans: These are busy ladies. No time to dilly-dally with internet courtship. Just order one up to go, and you can teach/tame/program him on your own time.

girlfriday: See, my mind is unable to go anywhere but the WRONG place with that. Pray tell, friend whose mind is not irreparably in the gutter: what the hell is he FOR, then?

javabeans: To be her perfect, gentlemanly, chaste, pristine boyfriend, of course! You know, the kind of guy who doesn’t exist outside of artificial intelligence.

girlfriday: If a girl wants chaste and pristine, she shouldn’t date dudes.

javabeans: And now you’re on the same page as this drama!

WAIT!! I'm confused.. so will there be a Taiwanese adaptation of 'Absolute Boyfriend' which will start Go Hye Sun and then a Korean adaptation that will star Kim Haneul and TOP? Gaaahhh!!

I think the casting is a bit off... I just can't picture him as a cyborg.. can't he just be Soushi instead of Night Tenjo? *sigh*

Ummm... really NOT a fan of K remakes of J mangas, really, really, really not a fan. when i watch those remakes, i have to get my head into a special kind of status. like 'this could be your favorite manga, but under no circumstances throw your slippers at the TV'.

on the other hand, I always like the TW version of manga remakes (meteor garden and romantic princess excluded, i was a little past the hype for MG when i watch and romantic princess was the definition of how a pretty face covers up bad action and bad script). Also, out of Fahrenheit (liked a few of their songs, but liked their personlities more, aka, like them on variety programs more than their music), Jiro's the only one I can praise for acting skills. so i'm looking forward to TW Absolute boyfriend more than K remake.

oh, and no way in hell is TOP gonna strip. since Jiro promised he'll be in a naked diaper while filming the famous 'coming out of the box' scene, and posted a lot of pictures of him half naked doing stunts on set to his weibo account, i'm siding with Jiro over TOP in this. sorry, TOP, if you ain't gonna strip, please give the fangirling benefit to someone else????

he got really cut for the K drama Padam padam he also has a serious almost elegant demeanor about him, he gives off a vibe almost like the Tenjo knight of the Japanese version of absolute boyfriend. I personally like park shin hye acting style in Tree of Heaven and would like her as the lead heroin of this drama. You see in Tree of Heaven she also has a sort of forbidden love and when the time comes when she can no longer be with her absolute boyfriend I know that she will be capable of depicting the scene of utter despair and sorrow.Park Min Young is also someone that shouldn't be overlooked for this role she did an excellent job in the sungkyunkwan scandal K drama she's witty and looks naturally frail but with unfailing spunk. The kind of ingredients needed to make a good heroine.

For the Human lead I would like(little) lee Min ho from K drama (roof top prince,the moon that embraces the sun) because he's handsome but easily overlooked, which perfectly describes what has been done to this character in Absolute boyfriend. Whether it is my imagination or the charisma I get from him he seems to be a shy and quiet man( of 19) who will do whats right for the people he cares about. But can be fiery when the time comes. He looks mature enough to play any age group like (big,Oppa ajussi) Lee Min Ho from K drama (boys over flower, City Hunter Ect.) So whether he plays a 26 year old like Park Min Young or a 22 year old like park shin hye (LiL 19year old) Lee Min ho will be perfect. I would even like (big)Lee Min Ho because I like his cute ^_^ self anyways these are my sentiments and sorry its so long. <3 K dramas, K PoP,Jpop Love the world

TOP is a really interesting choice for the robot role, but someone here mentioned No Min Woo and now I cant get it out of my head, I think he would be perfect!
