Im Joo-eun follows What’s Up with Wild Romance

Wild Romance is collecting a nice group of actors, and now Im Joo-eun joins the crew, which already includes Lee Dong-wook (Scent of a Woman) and Lee Shi-young (Poseidon) as the leads.

Oh Man-seok (Everybody Cha Cha Cha) and Hwang Sun-hee (City Hunter) are two others, playing a married couple: Oh is the uptight baseball player, and Hwang is his graceful, charming wife.

Im Joo-eun first caught everyone’s eye as the high school girl with haunting visions in the horror-thriller drama Hon. She had a bit of buzz as a budding It Girl, but I think that momentum stalled a bit when her drama did; What’s Up has only recently begun its run on cable station MBN, but it’s been months since that show wrapped shoots after looking like it might not air at all.

In Wild Romance, Im plays Dong-ah, an unemployed bookworm who’s been friends with heroine Eun-jae (Lee Shi-young) since their high school days. Dong-ah possesses a “peculiar worldview” — no clues yet as to just what makes it so odd — and has a character that shows an interesting gravitas and lightness at the same time. She sounds just like the quirky kind of character I’d expect of this writer (who penned White Christmas, Mixed-Up Investigative Agency, and Alone In Love).

Wild Romance is one of dramas in the upcoming January clusterfuck of premieres that I’m particularly interested in, mainly because of writer Park Yeon-seon but also because I’m intrigued by the description of the drama as a showcase for a lot of interesting characters, each living out their own lives. No doubt there’ll be a central story, but I anticipate little tangents that skew off (and hopefully tie back into the main plot) to show us a multifaceted world.

The drama premieres on KBS on January 4, which is the same day that MBC unveils its fusion sageuk Moon That Embraces The Sun and SBS launches Take Care of Us, Captain. Which’ll you be watching?

Moon and Romance, I'm going to be watching. I may take a peek at Capitan, but I'm just not a fan of GHS.

I would totally agree with you about staying away from Captain if it weren't for this guy:

I have a lot of affection for her. She's extremely likable to me, and I don't even know why. Then again, liking someone really doesn't need a why ^^ Im Joo-eun has tons of charisma and I adore her, so I think I'll check this drama out for her. The other actors are great too (well, not a fan of Lee Dong-wook's), but it's her I really connect with. Otherwise I'd have watched it at a later date, I think.

This'll probably be what to watch to calm down from the crack that Moon Embracing The Sun hopefully wil be : )

Another one for Moon Embraces the Sun. If anyone is recapping Wild Romance I might read through that and see if it catches my interested. I like Im Joo-eun in What's Up so far (the only thing I have seen her in) but I like Kim Soo-huyn more!

Woooaahh......THREE dramas ~ ~ ??? O_o Aigoo, I don't know what to do if I can watch these dramas while I am still in college.....(crossing fingers) I hope I might have time, of course. If not, I'd be disappointed that I don't have time to watch and fall behind.....I will see what happens.

Ah, I really like Im Joo Eun from What's Up & she's coool, keke! (thumb-up) I will be looking forward to this because of Lee Dong Wook. :)

MoonSunYum for me - because I'm all about the pretty and the romance, and Wild Romance because I like this girl and have recently discovered Oh Man Seok. Take Care of Me Captain holds no appeal thus far.

I think I'll be watching Moon That Embraces The Sun and this one. Can we just skip the holidays and get right to these dramas? I have never been less excited for the holidays in my entire life. I must be getting old.

I think I'm going to start What's Up. And I want to watch White Christmas. Does anyone know where I can watch it in high quality? Should I just download it?

MoonSunFlowerHotBros ofcourse! I can not wait for that! Sigh- wish the song 'blades of glory' was actually called 'manes of glory' and was the theme song for this drama. I will be trying out wild romance too though!

I love her in What's Up. Oh Man-seok is in that show too, so I guess this will be their second drama together.

Wild Romance is starting to look really good!

I was already interested in Wild Romance because of the writer, but that interest shot way up with the casting of Im Joo Eun. I loved her in Hon. She radiates a different kind of energy than other actresses her age group.

Definitely checking out The Moon That Embraces the Sun and Wild Romance. And then picking the more interesting out of the two.

All 3 dramas sound promising. The trailers for Take Care of us, Captain are really great, cinematography is amazing. The Moon That Embraces the Sun seem to have 2 good male leads. Wild Romance- seem to be the most cliched .Will check out all 3 and pick the one I like best. After Princess Man and Tree with Deep Roots ( they are both great!), I am a little tired of sageuks. Captain might be refreshing. We'll see...

i'll definitely be watching this! why?

- it got Oh 'the Man'-Seok! i luv him in 'man of the vineyard' (my whole family luv this, including my i-dont-watch-kdrama brother.ha) and everything else i manage to catch him in.

- Lee shi young. she's adorable and annoying in that 'birth of the rich' drama and i like her as the host for entertainment weekly in KBS world.

- Lee Dong wook! feel in luv when i watched 'La Dolce Vita'.

- Im Joo-eun is good in What's Up. so gonna watchout for her.

- we got KBS world on our TV at home, so no need for to d/load and take up more space in my pc. :p

I think Moon has me most interested because it will be the BEST THING I WILL HAVE EVER SEEN later on.
We get more JIW.
We get KSH.
We get beads attached to hats.
We get princely commanding voices.
We get Minho and little Dong-su, for a little while.
We get a shaman lady.

With WR, we get LDW with a mustache. That seems like it wouldn't be good, but it actually is. Lee Shi Young is funny, I think, but I am not sold on them as a couple yet. Mostly because of their hair from the stills they released. They have matching hair now.

As far as Captain, we get the Dong Yi guy, who is a big PLUS, and the actress who people have such polarizing opinions on. She's like that glass - It's either half full or she's the actress people want to throw a glass AT.

I'm looking forward to Wild Romance, the teaser trailer looks strangely appealing? Maybe with more of an emphasis on the 'strange' but the leads sure are enticing :)

I haven't watched anything from Park Yun Sun except for "Attack On The Pin-Up Boy" and if that's anything to go by it should definitely be quirky?

Wow I fell in love with her character in What' Up and I see her again in Wild Romance! Coincidence how her and Oh Man Seok are both in What' Up (though they're probably not going to become a couple in the show, I do love how they're characters connect and how Oh Doo Ri confesses her love for Oh Man Seok's character) and now they're both in Wild Romance. Oh Man Seok and Im Joo Eun both became two actors that I admire now because of What's Up! Hope to see more of BOTH of them! :D
