Yoo Yeon-seok cast as Song Joong-ki’s rival in Wolf Boy

Being the lesser-known actor challenging Song Joong-ki as love rival has got to be a daunting task, but Yoo Yeon-seok has been brought in to do just that in Wolf Boy, the upcoming fantasy-melo film starring Song Joong-ki and Park Bo-young as the two main leads.

The movie follows a “lonely wolf boy who’s been abandoned by the world” and a “cold girl who has closed her heart to the world” as they fall in love. Yoo Yeon-seok is the antagonist who likes her and therefore torments wolfie, even though he’s rich and spoiled and has everything else going for him.

I think I’ve seen Yoo in this general character before, since he played the haughty student body president in the horror drama Hon, although he’s been playing a more appealing role in MBC’s recently ended Night Hospital.

Yoo doesn’t have a lot of name recognition yet, but perhaps he’s about to break through to the next level; he’s also in Introduction to Architecture, starring Uhm Tae-woong and Han Ga-in, where he’s paired as Suzy’s sunbae. Also on his resumé: playing young Yoo Ji-tae in Oldboy back in 2003 and acting in this year’s daily drama Pure Pumpkin Flower.

I’m always game to watch more Song Joong-ki, but in this case most of my excitement is for Park Bo-young, who’s been away from the screen (due to legal entanglements) for way too long. Wolf Boy just started shoots and will release next year.

Excited to see this movie but it would have been better if this is a drama.

I'm so excited for this movie too and mainly because I've always thought Park Bo-Young and Koong-ki seem to have such great chemistry, ever since I saw them in Running Man (ep 25). Can't wait to see Bo-young in a movie! Speedy Scandal was sooo awesome :D

I probably wouldn't be interesting in this film at all if not for the incredibly appealing leads because everything else makes me go "meh" but maybe i'll be surprised because i can never get enough of song joongki OR park bo young! they are already the cutest couple EVER xD

This is the one movie that's really piqued my interest, and I'm not even sure why, other than my undying affection for the pretty boy, SJK.

I wish there was more info on the premise. Is Wolfie a shape-shifter? Is Wolfie a werewolf? Is Wolfie an abandoned Romulus-boy raised by a mommy wolf in the woods? Or is "Wolfie" just his name and he's pissed just because he's Korean and the name of Wolf isn't in the usual lexicon? **sigh**

Oh, well - as long as he doesn't grow slo-mo, time lapse facial hair and fangs and really long toenails, I guess it'll be okay.
One thing's certain. There's a lot of pretty here. Bring it on and may the subbing gods do an accurate (and fast!) job!
