Cast gathers for Big’s initial script reading

The cast has been assembled and now it’s time to begin production on Big, the body-swapping Hong Sisters romantic comedy set to air on KBS in just over another month. The drama held its initial table read a week ago, though we’re only now getting to see the stills featuring stars Gong Yoo, Lee Min-jung, Jang Hee-jin, and Suzy.
(You can barely see a few other Hong sisters regulars, like Choi Ran and Ahn Seok-hwan, who have been in a number of the duo’s past dramas, often paired. Perhaps they’ll have another love connection this time as well; at this point the meta joke is practically half the point of casting them.)
Despite the title, the plot actually isn’t like Tom Hanks’ Big after all, since we’re dealing with two discrete identities. Rather than starting Gong Yoo’s character out young and aging him overnight, an 18-year-old’s spirit takes up residence in the 30-something hero’s body. Lee Min-jung is the woman who finds herself in a predicament when her fiancé suddenly isn’t her fiancé anymore; she plays a quirky character with apparently hilarious dialogue. Can’t wait to hear it.
Suzy was also at the reading, though her character doesn’t make her entrance until Episode 3; she’ll be the teenage girl that our teenage hero has a crush on.
Big premieres on June 4 on KBS, and will be a Monday-Tuesday drama. Who’s ready for Gong Yoo’s comeback?

Do guys have a V Line? If Koreans like a S line for females.
However can't quite work out Ms Suzy's role if it's GY in a teenager's body. Guess she will be kissing the younger guy?

I've heard V-line's for the jaw shape or something....i think it's the Korean equivalent of a heart-shaped face!! As for the S-line most of the female K-celebs who're envied for said S-line seem to be shapeless with no curves whatsoever!!
I'm looking forward to this drama although it'll mean my obsession, TK2H, will have finished by then: hello, there's GY, LMJ (despite dropping BOF, SM, & Midas she has that likeability factor going for her), and Suzy (she's too adorable for words)!!

I can't wait until June. I like all 3 main actors, so definitely I will watch thís drama. I hope the Hong sisters will outdo themselves this time or just live up to their name, which is also good enough.

As a latecomer to Korean drama, I'm still catching up on old stuff—which means I haven't gone more than a month without having a new Gong Yoo drama to watch. How did you all survive during the long, cold years without him after Coffee Prince? ::sniffles:: It's too horrible to contemplate.

yes, in a way, thank goodness i jsut discovered k dramas and my second was coffee prince more than a month ago, so my wait hasnt been too long. am sooooo looking forward to this. cant say i love this hairdo though - but i love him soooo much :)

That would maybe explain the haircut to look younger??
Although I'm not comfortable with this but I trust my Hong Sisters to know what they're doing.
They have been working on that drama since BL ended, so it must have lots of thought poured into it.

I just recently received my Coffee Prince DVD after the fact that I have streamed it way too many times. Of course im rewatching *again* amd Have fallen in love with GY every single time.
I only watched Best Love out of all the Hong sister's dramas... Is it too much also to ask for a Pil-joo cameo instead? Although Dokko Jin's would be a hoot too!

I love that they are doing yet another "Freaky Friday" sort of. This weekend, I realized why it is so easy to forgive the similarities.
Did you ever finish reading a book, or watching a movie or drama, and *sigh*, and say to yourself, "Oh, I wish I could wipe my memory, and read this again as if it were the first time!" The characters and the story were so wonderful, I just want to revisit over and over, but feel the thrill of newness each time?
I realized that is why we LOVE these dramas. We get to experience the same story, or similar, over and over, each time it is fresh. They introduce us to different, but similar, characters living in different, but similar situations.
We get to experience the the first diss, first near miss, and finally, the first kiss.
And towards the end, when she is down and out, and cannot go on anymore, we know if she would just turnaround, she would see him there, ready to give her his heart forever.
...and then, she does.
We were talking about this on the OT. How P&P may have been the first, but subsequent copies are as compelling, as heart-breaking, as heart burstingly good. We can love all versions of body swapping, love triangle, evil step-sister, imperfect hero gets better and finally deserves the girl story.
Some are better than other because of the acting, dialog, cinematography, music, etc, but we can and do love imperfect versions, too.
And I love that JB and GF have the same wide-eyed, open-hearted adoration for the GOOD parts that we do, no matter how many times we all have gotten burned and wanna chuck the laptop out with the Spy Myung Wol.

I was just thinking the other day about why I love kdramas. And when I run down my list of watched-shows some character types and scenarios occur over and over again, but I still love it. You hit it on the nail with your “Oh, I wish I could wipe my memory, and read this again as if it were the first time!” theory. It's a keen pleasure to watch "magic" happen on screen whether it be romance, bromance, hilarious dialogue, or gut-renching sorrow. Many shows aren't super special like Coffee Prince or High Kick 3 are, but amazingly many kdramas have a touch of it.

Am actually excited for Gong Yoo, Lee Min-jeong, & Suzy...and what's with Choi Ran & Ahn Seok-hwan reunited again??? XD
(though they're usually paired up as a romantic yet also funny couple, "Hong Gil-dong" didn't necessarily pair them up together...d/t being a fusion sageuk and sageuks meaning power play and rival factions, ASH's "The seat of all power~!!!" or something similar and CR being Jang Geun-seok's main sang-goong...)
So the plot is "Secret Garden without the potion, thunderstorm, 'Smeeeeeeeell~!',& cheesy pull-ups & foam kiss" doesn't meet "17 Again" yet is somehow "49 Days without the Scheduler, 'Kang-ahhhhhh~!', jerk-assed fiance and false-yet-redeemed friend, and the 3 tears requirement", is that it???
