Yoon Sang-hyun and Park Ha-sun’s tone-deaf rom-com

Now this is a coupling that’s surprising and adorable. Yoon Sang-hyun (Can’t Lose) and Park Ha-sun (High Kick 3) are headlining a romantic comedy film about a woman who’s determined to conquer her terrible tone-deaf singing to win over the man of her dreams. That’s so random and just inherently quirky. The movie, called Tone-Deaf Clinic, has completed principal photography and plans to premiere later this year.

Park Ha-sun plays Dong-joo, a woman with a one-sided crush on a guy that she thinks for some reason will never give her the time of day if she can’t sing. Either that or she’s got it in her head that she has to serenade him to make him fall in love. She’s innately tone-deaf but finds a clinic, a music school that promises to teach her how to sing. Yoon Sang-hyun plays Shin-hong, the instructor at the school.

Aw, he’s going to teach her how to sing so she can win another man, all the while falling in love with her? I adore everything about that premise, and they seem perfectly cast for the parts. Remember Park Ha-sun’s awesomely bad singing performance in High Kick? So great. She really commits to the comedy, and well, he’s just always funny. It’ll be her first major starring role in a film, and Yoon Sang-hyun’s big screen debut. Directing is PD Kim Jin-young, of Dangerous Meeting.

The characters first meet in the subway station, while posting flyers. She does it as a part-time job while he’s doing it to promote his Tone-Deaf Clinic. They get into a turf war over flyer space, which literally turns into a physical altercation. Fisticuffs as a meet-cute? Love it already.

Tone-Deaf Clinic will hit theaters later this year.

Oska oppa!!!!
I prefer to forget Can't Lose: He wasn't bad in it but it didn't left me a good impression (you need to be 2 to play good comedy...).
Seems like a role tailor made for him here. Will definitely watch it.

OMOOOOO...I love him...he has like the sweetest smile and the most soothing voice like EVer!!! Hmmm...need something light to watch after all the bully controversy going on (scares the hell out of my cat!!)....some TLC, and this drama sounds a whole lot of that!!!

Here I am about to begin my first semester of college, and the drama list keeps growing and growing. I am secretly hoping some of the dramas suck so my list gets smaller lol. I have at least 11 new dramas to watch.

Second year IS the hardest! (at least it was when I was in pharmacy school many moons ago. Organic chemistry was the achilles heel of many of my classmates.) I am SO glad that I discovered kdramas much, much later after graduating or I don't think I would have made it through! So all you students still in school, fighting!

I am so tone deaf! I still cringe about my "singing" attempt at my engagement dinner, family inlaw meeting. I guess I am not a "typical" Korean, because I can't sing well if my life depended on it!

i am happy that there is someone who graduated many moons ago!!!!!cause sometimes i feel that i am the oldest when reading comments!!! i m going to be 36 next sunday! but the passion i feel when reading recaps or watching a drama is the same as any other ( by the way i' m not korean , i'm algerian livig in france!!!!) i discovered korean dramas three years ago and since then i follow every thing new, dramas , kpop even the korean culture !!

OMG that must suck. I can't even think about how I'm going to juggle my dramas when I eventually go to med school. I'm kind of expecting that my grades will be horrible the first semester, but I can't afford that. GRRR those dramas curse my grades.

Ahh, it sounds cute. :)

The only bad thing about it is the loooong wait (for it to become available online/on DVD) for those of us who don't live in Korea.

Aw, I wish that this was a full out, 16 episode drama. I could watch a plot like this for 16 episodes, especially with Park Ha-Sun and Yoon Sang-Hyun in it! ^^

How come they don't have her with a bucket on her head? That's what they did for the tone-deaf hubby learning to sing a song for his girlfriend in the horrible 'A 1,000 Kisses'!

I love movies like this, and will watch for it.

PHS - she played the queen in Dong Yi right? I really liked her.

YSH - hehe... do miss him since SeGa.

Sounds like a good rom-com.

I've only seen YSH in SG and a little bit in 'Take Care of the Young Lady" - so my impression of him is colored (not for the better).

Park Ha-sun, otoh, has the combination of beauty and acting skills to be a huge star; if she doesn't, then there's something wrong w/ the Korean entertainment industry.

Hate his overly dramatic acting, both in Take Care of the Young Lady and Secret Garden

His looks and acting place him squarely in second lead/supporting territory in my book. Didn't mind him in SEGA but I had a really hard time slogging through Take Care of the Young Lady even before the writing took that nosedive towards the end.

YES! Sooooo agreed! I watched both of these dramas and I just hated how he kept yelling and overacting. Urgh. Don't see the appeal at all.

That's his trademark: Clownesque and exagerated acting. And that's why I like him. Compensates for all the stiff actors who are afraid to get wrinkles by using the muscles of their face.
