Hi Everybody!
How are you doing? I am now going to think of ways to fight severe withdrawal symptoms after King of Drama ended. Any suggestions?

Have a lovely weekend!

I am on a totally different wave with a japanese drama Otomen- very silly, but my sickness-filled brain cant take anything more than lighthearted and goofy. lots of silly parodies. b ut some reall WTF? parts as well, like leaving a character to die and having the text on screen say"age of death:..."( he turned out liveand welllater but at the time itseemed as a total racism against adifferent character) and then some that are scary even if you know it is a parody. gosh, japanese ghosts, they scare the living hell out of me. kind of like the little kid in Chilling Romance.

anyway, it is so weird and goofy I have forgotten everything about the 5most recent dramas I watched. recommended for Total Wipe-Out of The Brain.

Hey, kopytko :) How are you doing? I'm also missing KOD already, so I'm trying ALL sorts of dramas.
I found out that dramas for me now are like clothes for women: there are many, but I still don't know what to watch, haha :)

Still, I will put a big plus to the new ones, "Flower Boy Next Door", in particular. What a nice funny show. I love it already.
I'm currently watching "School 2013", skimming through "Alice in Cheongdam-dong" and this afternoon I've just tried "Hundred Year Inheritance" ( I kind of miss some light melodrama. "light" for me is that I don't take it into heart seriously, let myself giggle through serious scenes and so on.)

The other evening I also remembered some funny "Personal taste" scenes AND ended my marathon over "Shup Up, Flower Boy Band " - well that's what I would suggest as a withdrawal medicine ;) Or, a new virus, as I cannot stop listening to its' OST.
[*secretly looks around to find the one, who suggested it*]
I already have "History of the Salaryman" and "Reply.1997" on my computer, but I feel I'll need some special mood to start these.

In one thread there was a conversation about the reactions of other people to our obsession to k-dramas.
I would like to shortly add, that all I gained from my brother, who decided to try MY k-dramas (since he liked some Japanese ones) was a HUGE amount of teasing. Now when he's at home and I'm using computer, he doesn't miss an opportunity to tease me about "that man-princess". Well, maybe, The Princess' Man wasn't the best decision to suggest to him in the first place... :/ So, recently, I put on his desk Vampire Prosecutor saying that if he cannot understand my love for THIS drama, then he'll never understand my obsession. We'll see how it goes.

What I would like to know is what kind of Japanese drama would suit after "Rich man, poor women"? I kind find any with good romance.

Hi Laurita!
I think Oh Boy! series ended for me with the last episode of Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. It's great that so many viewers have lots of fun with FBND, but I guess it is not what I need. Rewatching History of the Salaryman might be a way though :)

I think Pricess' Man is not a best choice for a first drama because many pepole (me included) don't enjoy sageuks. You need some knowledge on culture and traditional customs to follow the story and understand characters' actions. I think some modern drama could be a better bait. HotS for example or Vampy if your brother likes more intense shows (again too much violence for my delicate eyes ;p).

I saw 100 Years Inheritance and was put off by the first ep (what an Evil-Mother-in-Law - a true moster) but I hope it will turn better in the next weeks.

I didn't finish the first ep of Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, it just.. well, I just didn't like it then (that "perfect smile"...), but "Flower Boy Band" somehow got through.

As for Pricess’ Man, I was mesmerized by it at that time,so maybe it was a withdrawal symptom. I really don't know what could be suitable for my b. since he watches various stuff (from anime till Dexter), though he liked Hana Yori Dango and Liar Game ( oh, I loved it too). I just need something to justify my drama watching hours...

100 Years Inheritance for me now is something like another k-drama "Don't Hesitate" that I watched because of the hilarious viki comments. I watch this one also because of such ridiculous and unbelievable details as that Evil Mother :) I doubt it will become anything better (after all, it's melo), but still.

My brother#4 loved City Hunter. Brother#2's girlfriend borrows my kdrama dvds so he watches with her and he also liked CH, surprisingly he was into TPM's plot, cried tears for Pal-gang in Stars Falling From the Sky, laughed a lot at You're Beautiful & Dalja's Spring, and enjoyed the music and bromance of Shut Up Flower Boy Band.

0

Hey, i was never a big fan of sageuks either(the proper sageuks now I mean.) I didn't understand what they were saying sometimes despite knowing Korean myself. It's true there are some traditions and customs that may aid or enhance the viewing experience, but if you they are just that I think. You kinda accept the little things they do, as what really matters is the plot. The story itself, what it's trying to tell you.
That's what I realised after watching my first sageuk since Hur Joon, and of my own accord!
I watched the first two episodes of Queen Insoo, which aired on JTBC, and I was really surprised at how as much as it IS a sageuk, it doesnt feel slow or boring! I know, amazing.
In fact, although there are romancey and lighthearted moments, I actually anticipated the more serious and political moments. ANd this is coming from someone who really could not stand political dramas or moments in dramas.
the start of the drama is just setting up of the current situation and the charactes in relation to each other, the general politics and although it's a little hard to wrap your head around the different charcters, once you get the jist of it, it's a good watch.
I'll definitely be watching this to see how the story unfolds.
Definitely recommend. Dont be daunted by the world or number of characters, once you just get an understanding, watching it IS fun and enticing. As weird as that sounds for a sageuk.
It's a little long, 60 episodes, but I think it's a drama that is best watched in small bits, so you absorb the world, the developments etc. So, personally I dont feel it to be a burden to start either :)

@Laurita
FBRS was a highly enjoyable show for me. Athough, Cha Chi Soo (Jung Il Woo) wasn't the best about it. Lots of viewers were delighted to watch this character and found him cute/charming. I found him annoying. But there was also Kang Hyuk aka Pillar aka Sunflower and he was my personal highlight of the show. This character was freedom personified, big guy with big heart and casual attitude towards word around him. I guess he appeared in 2nd episode, but I am not sure. I am sure you're not a superficial person and a hint that he's got some fabulous post-army abs to flaunt will be irrelevant to you ;P

0

@imp
I have tried to approach several sageuks but none was watchable (not to mention ejoyable) so I don't think I will venture Queen Insoo (60 eps!). The other thing is, although it may be stupid of me, the poster seems to scream: b*tchfest galore - do not enter. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems abounding with malicous-aggressive female characters. I don't dare watch it.

0

kopytko,
oh pffff, of course i'm totaly NOT superficial, and abs? -meh, doesn't affect me at all (ghm, wait, you said ... second ep? *immediately goes to dramacrazy*)

-------------------------------------

Ace,
thanks for suggestion, he already knows it (had first 3 or 5 eps, sent already, but added it for the later times to watch only to compare with manga or anime, I don't remember which one it originated from). So, i don't know yet whether he'll like it or not (if yes - I'm so saved then, haha).
I think, I'll keep Shut Up Flower Boy Band as a reserve (what if). Actually, I really wanted to give him Gaksital, but I sooo doubt whether he'll drown for it (I myself at first tried to watch the beginning of 1 ep like 3 times until I understood its awesomeness).

0

@Laurita
He appears in ep3 and what I mentioned earlier is to be seen in ep5.
http://www.dramabeans.com/2011/11/flower-boy-ramyun-shop-episode-5/

0

kopytko,
thanks, I will try to ----NOT--- see it (since I'm no superficial) :) [but if only I will get through that "perfect smile"- I just realized, that it still affects me in not a good way... I usually don't find myself in a position of pointing some (d)effects of appearance, but in this case...] But that other guy that you told me about looks charming though (even without abs-showing), so I'm tempted :)

0

He looks ok (understatement of the day) but the character is really lovable. I think I would think warmly of him even if he were short, bald and slightly overweight :)

0

@kopytko
hm, I havent watched a lot of it yet, but I dont think it will be a *b*tchfest* as you might fear.
Yes, I think it will be a drama that centres around the important women in history, but I dont think it'll become a drama full if evil scheming women.
It will be of women who are strong in their own ways, who will shape history. They are still human though, people. And that I think will ensure a balanced, organic characterization and story development.
I dont fear that it will become so in the least. I actually feared that too, but after having watched only the first two, my concerns were removed as all the characters in some way had depth, male and female. And I love baek sung hyun in this already.
Oh and btw, I feared it would be about power hungry women, but it deffo does not feel like that. :)
I can understand your hesitation, but I'd say give the first ep a try- you might just like it.

0

kopytko -

"I saw 100 Years Inheritance and was put off by the first ep (what an Evil-Mother-in-Law – a true moster)..."

I'm curious, is the evil mother-in-law in 100 Years Inheritance as horrible as Jang Woo-bin's mother in A Thousand Kisses? I didn't actually watch A Thousand Kisses but my own mom did last year and to this day she complains bitterly about that woman's evil ways! (The character, of course, not the actress) While I didn't watch it, I do remember walking by when my mom was watching A Thousand Kisses and catching glimpses of this woman....from what I saw, she was truly awful.

1

@Korfan

Mom in ATK was a nasty character, but what she did was for her child's sake (in the way that seemed right to her, of course) and was pretty much standard - she disagreed, she offered the girlfriend money to disappear, she was rude towards the son's girlfirend. I would say MIL in Inheritance is two or three steps ahead in terms of evilness. She did something that would be considered a crime (and simply unhuman thing) for sake of her children's wealth - as far as I remember Woo Bins mom wasn't that determined LOL and she wasn't so much after money.

0

kopytko –

Thank you for taking the time to write a response. Wow, two or three times more evil! That totally is on another level. I shared your response with my mom. She was like, "WHAT!?"

The previews for 100 Years have just started here, which means it'll probably begin airing in the next 1 to 3 months. Who knows, we may just check it out. Thanks again!

1

If you haven't started School 2013 yet, do it now or else the upcoming dramas will soon be here then you won't have time in your drama watching to fit in this little gem. The first few episodes were kinda okay but then it picked up especially when Nam-soon's former boyfriend bestfriend came to school.

Try also Flower Boy Next Door as something to make you laugh after School 2013. Any tvN drama is good in my opinion.

My bad. Just read your post about FBND below. Heh. Too bad. I find it awesome. It's the first drama in a long while that I watch the episode more than once. In KoD I do watch on repeat Hyun-min's scenes though. So funny. "Like Brad Pitt?" ;)

I think "Like Brad Pitt" should become one of the golden quotations of this year and an insider joke for drama addicts.

I've seen a bit of School 2013 - it is not bad and it's about teachers (:D) but it is not that. I feel no difference whether I watch an episode or read a recap. I am a fan of Kim Woo Bin and the "students" are doing a good job, but the whole thing lacks something. When I've figured out what it is I will call myself Anthony ;)

BTW I find it hilarious that actors playing students could be teachers in RL (in my country KWB would be in his final year of the Uni and have teaching practice at some school)

I decided to deal with my King of Drams withdrawal with more Kim Myung-min! I'm about a third of the way through "Bad Family" (it's older and was a little harder to track down, but found in on dramacrazy.) It's silly and cute, and the chemistry with the leads is great.

I could listen to him read the phone book, and it's surprising (and delightful) to have a kdrama crush who's actually in my age-range!

“Bad Family” is an idea. Thanks! I tried watching "White Towe" but the subs were terrible - a bad translation from Chinese - and I couldn't bear it. The drama itself wasn't that bad I guess.

I'm watching Bad Family too... Even though KMM looks different in there, but oh it's his voice that will remind me of Anthony. Sometimes I'll just watch it with the sound off! Hee!

Maybe it's a good thing that the last few eps of KoD are not as wow as the starting eps, else my withdrawal symptoms could be much worse...

Have a great weekend everybody!

I just checked out dramawiki and found out that Oh Ji Eun (the actress playing Sung Min-ah)'s debut was Bad Family! I'm only at ep2 of Bad Family, so I haven't seen her appearance yet. I think her role would be small... wonder which ep she'd be in. Or if she's in any scene with KMM...

Good Morning My Wondrous Beans!

This week has been warmer in the tundra that New England recently became, so I’m all smiles about that. You know what else I’m all smiles about? Flower Boys! Next Door! I feel like EVERY word in that should have been capitalized, that’s how much I love this new show – and judging by the thunderous approval I see every where I look on the net ( so, umm..here. And Twitter. Which is an extension of here.) you all love it too! Seriously, what’s not to love? Clearly there’s skill in the directing and the acting and it’s interesting to look at – a bit moody at times. All the actors are doing a fine, fine, FINE job, although there’s a couple we really don’t have a bead on yet. But Jin Rak! We will all cry buckets for his broken heart, won’t we? And Yoon Shi Yoon? How is there a man so adorable on this earth? What I like about him is he has that Joo Won thing too, where he has the face of a baby you want to pinch and his aegyo is not vomit-inducing…and then suddenly he turns on the man side of his personality and you’re like ohh, RIGHT. Aww and the little Japanese guy with the huge smile. And Dong Woon – wow, who would have though a hair cut would make him look so much like Siwon? I totally did not pick up on that in Operation Proposal. Ha, and the eyebag editor. And the security guard? And the ahjumma who stands in for all of us with the pretty boys? Yeah…there’s a lot to love here.

I’m current on School and if I don’t get to see pictures of the HeungSoo NamSoon wedding I will cry. No, I know it’s a bromance. Sigh. But I literally SHOUTED IN TRIUMPH in the middle of a cubicle farm when Heung Soo said they were friends. I LUFF THEM. And I’m going to watch Bleak Night to remind myself of how things DIDN’T go with them. Se Chan and In Jae – I don’t know if I want them to have a romance or not. I like how he admires her so much just for her efforts with the kids and without romance cluttering it up…but I wouldn’t mind seeing a little kissy face there either. When I grow up I’m going to marry his voice. Or maybe I’ll marry Anthony’s voice and have an affair with Daniel Choi’s voice. Ooh and TOP’s voice. My marriage isn’t going to last long, is it.

Subs are slow this week for I Miss You but Ep 18 was edge of your seat good. Howwwwwwwww can I hate Harry so much and yet want to give YSH hugs and kisses and feed him? And honestly I still feel bad for Harry but WOW he is rotten. I wonder if he’s going to do something good to redeem a little bit of himself in the next couple episodes (all we have left! Sob!) I love this show. I love this show. I love it. The cat and mouse aspect is the best part of it…but the interaction between Jung Woo and – well, pretty much anybody, but especially Su Yeon lately – Yoochun is doing such a good job. I don’t know if it’s acting skill or the luck of a character who has similarities to himself but he’s just so good in this. I’m really impressed. I’m not a Cassie at all and know next to nothing about TVXQ and barely more than that about JYJ and I don’t listen to their music really. I approach Yoochun as an actor first and only, honestly. And I think at this point I can say if he’s in something, I’m going to watch. Period.

King of Dramas, you pulled your punch at the end. I love you, but you wimped out. You know it and I know it. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Ok, and now I just have to sit and wait for the next episode of Alice. Also this weekend I will catch up on The Great Seer.

And I put a lot of stuff in my japanese queue lately too.

Could I really be the first this morning?

Good morning! Remembered to buzz by here and see who was around today - it's been awhile....
Have been in a dearth of K-Drama lately - only watching KoD (now over) and I Miss You (due to my Yoochun love). I'm enjoying IMY, but just can't connect to it. Ordinarily I'd be sobbing right along with both of them, but there's just something missing here for me. I mean, I practically blacked out from the sobbing for Stairway to Heaven and 1,000 day Promise and the miscarriage scene for Kim Nam Joo in You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly - but IMY? Nada. It's a sobfest for them (and impressive), just not for me. Oh well, am now watching FBND and it looks like fun.
Anyone here having trouble with the DramaFever site? It's gone from user-friendly to chaotic. It's confusing and all those Watch Now/Watch Later opaque signs obscure the drama advertising. I'm seriously thinking of dropping the site after 4 years, it's that frustrating.
Hope all my fellow DBers are fine! Where's Ricky?!

Cynthia, I understand (or don't understand) completely! I am usually very quick to cry and actually love me a good cry, but while IMY is holding my interest, I have shed almost NO tears the entire time. There is a major disconnect somewhere, and I know we're not the only ones feeling it!

0

Cynthia!!!

Long time no see! I hope you are staying healthy. The temperature and weather changes so much in my area of the world that I keep a rain coat in the car with a zip-in winter lining.

I think FBND is going to be a fun ride , with the cute of FBRS and the heart of SUFBB. And I'm voting Tae Joon as Most Likely To Have A Shower Scene. I'm already feeling the Second Lead Syndrome, probably because I like Jin-rak's slightly scruffy appearance to Enrique's puppyish good looks...

I just recently started using Drama Fever's mobile app (for CDDA), so I've never used the website. I prefer Viki of the two when viewing online.

Have a good Friday!!

0

Hello Cynthia
I don't like the new Dfever eever.

You know something is trouble when they tout how great the changes are.
ONE thing I like is being able to watch some shows in HD.
Everything else is silent bells and silent whistles, as far as I am concerned.

0

Nope I dont really cry for that one either but I enjoy it quite a bit

0

And they're really good criers, too. The eyes fill up, the tears roll down and the nose stays dry ( a BIG plus in my book). I'm enjoying watching it for the pretty and the kissing but the story is leaving me uninvested and a bit confused. What's with the macrame tubing/baby thing from the crazy mother? And why does our limping pretty boy hate her? And what's with the key necklace? I must be missing these points due to not concentrating in the episodes? IDK - help me out, here....

0

the tubing thing is just s-thing that she does and serves to show who has been with her if they have one - not so sure he hates her but with her crazy he cant have his revenge and then end up with her-she doesnt recognize her own son - so he is bitter and caught up in that

0

Thanks. I jumped the gun with those questions - ep 19 pretty much answered them all and has shown me that I devoted WAY too much imagination to this show.
I thought the key necklace was significant (in a material way) as the entry to a Scrooge McDuck gold bars money vault. Nope. A necklace can just be a necklace.
I also thought that those crazy tubing/baby things was her way of spelling out secret messages to help her escape. Nope. Crazy macrame tubing can be just that.
As far as why her 'baby' hated her - that was answered, too.
Can't accuse this drama of leaving sloppy loose ends.
:)

I feel you on the lack of I Miss You tears, now the show is in thriller gear, not tearjerker gear, and it throws me off a little when someone cries, even if YEH is an awesome and very convincing crier.

I adore FBND, can't wait for Monday just so I can have new episodes! (even if it does mean back to work, ugh)

0

Cynthia the jewelry is supposed to be (ha ha) key to the $ stolen in the beginning

0

Yeah, I don't really cry to IMY much -- though I get why they're crying. And I'll feel for them, but... I don't mind though. If I cried every time they cried? No, don't want that. ;) And I'm loving the thriller stuff. (Original Harry is super scary. As is Our Harry. Two scary dudes. Loosing their minds together.)

And oh my gosh I am adoring FBND! Oh, for a time machine for instant gratification!

0

Hi JoAnne! 100% agree with you on FBND. At first I was like, good lord, how can you have Ji Hoon and not have him be the romantic lead X[... but it only took till episode two for Shi Yoon to win me over.I love this little world. :D
It's excieting to watch a drama with this kind of fandom as it's airing. First for me. Also first for me to watch raw.

Hi JoAnne!

I am late as anything to this thread, but I think IMY left its tear-inducing abilities behind at least four episodes ago, now it's more straight-up thriller and I don't feel like crying for the characters anymore once Jung-woo and Su-yeon got past their respective childhood traumas (though every episode up to 11/12 pretty much had me SOBBING at least once). Now, I'm just caught between wanting to throttle Harry and wanting to comfort him and yell at him that he knows better than this, even though I'm not in love with bb Yoo Seung-ho like most of db lol.

And I feel you on liking Yoochun as an actor - I don't follow idol groups so Sungkyunkwan was the first thing I ever saw him in and I didn't like him all that much there, but this is the first role in which I've liked him. Though I will not lie, if they'd continued the story with Yeo Jin-gu and Kim So-hyun, I would have loved it even more than YEH and Yoochun - the kids were incredible and I actually welcome the flashbacks because we get to see them again (even if we all know they're using old footage because they don't have enough time to shoot all-new, ha).

Happy Friday and a happy open thread everyone!
Who else is insta-addicted to Flower Boy Next door? It really helps to soften the blow of the disappointing King of Dramas ending *sigh*. I also ragequit on Alice a few weeks ago for being a scheming schemer who schemes. I might pick it back up after it ends if I like how it goes.

I always watch the KBSW dailies in the morning as I'm tasering myself to prepare for work. I'm enjoying this one a lot more than the past three series (The Women Of Our Home, Just You, Moon and Stars), mostly because Kim Dong Wan is just so utterly charming. It's the usual KBS cast of characters that are helping the show progress better than its predecessors over the past few years. Ratings are decent as well, so somebody must be watching!

But nothing will even come close to my absolute all-time favorite daily "Smile Donghae" for all the obvious reasons. :P

I did catch the episode in KBS World where Wang Ji-hye's character got drunk because the boy who lived with Kim Dongwan agreed to stay in an orphanage for 3 years waiting until his father would be released from prison. Caught my eye because I love Wang Ji-hye and I find Dongwan interesting because for some reason I don't know about Eric picks on him in Shinhwa broadcast.

Being a Shinhwa Changjo from waaaaaay back in the day, Dong-wan's acting has increased in leaps and bounds since I watched him in "Sad Goodbye" (the less said about that show, the better). And Eric's just being a meanie bully guy to Dongwan-ssi -- I assume you guys know it's all fakey for TV, right? ;)

I'm on the fence with Wang Ji-hye's character portrayal. I still cannot forgive her for that AWFUL performance opposite My Precious in BVS. I had to replace a monitor after I threw one too many things at it! She's gonna have to step it up big time to make me change my mind. Hmpf.

But the kids are just amazingly good, especially the girl playing Hui-rae. And Oh Jae Moo is growing up so fast -- I almost didn't recognize him at first!!

Oooh, TWO episodes tonight on KBSW. Need to rush home in time for that!!

Howdy, Beanies! A very Happy Friday to everybody around the world. I hope you had a wonderful week!
Mine was quite ok (considering I’m back at work after two weeks of holidays)

Now, I’m preparing for a party me and some colleagues from work are having. It’s to say a proper thank you and farewell to a lady that left last year (when half of my team was away on business and research trips). I am really looking forward to that!!! Several old colleagues are also coming, some of which I haven’t seen in months.

I’m making two kinds of chocolate mousse right now (black and white Toblerone)
http://www.toblerone.ch/Rezepte/DarkChocolateMousse
http://www.toblerone.ch/Rezepte/WhiteChocolateMousse
and Flammkuchen later
http://www.food.com/recipe/tarte-flamb-e-els-sser-flammkuchen-365298
and a deadly fruit punch. We call it the happy-silly punch. The recipe is a family secret, but it’s got fresh fruit and berries, Passoa (Passion Fruit Liquor), Vodka, and Prosecco.

When I’m not busy with other stuff, I’m watching Cheongdamdong Alice (not sure I like where they are going ... have just seen the preview for episode 11) and Flower Boy Next Door. Haha, that one is unexpectedly funny. Second Lead Syndrome guaranteed!
I plan to watch the Chaser soon (been on my list for so long…) and Conspiracy in the Court.

Hello everybody!

Hope this finds you all well.

How's your KD life?

I'm a bit bummed to lose KOD to watch but surviving with My Love Madame Butterfly, FBND, CA, (and sometimes Rascal Sons).

Enjoying the recaps here for CA, JWC, 1N2D, Running Man, and School 2013.

How about you all?

Oh! I like Madame Butterfly too! It's my first time watching the main actress but she's a hoot. I am kinda irritated by the scheming-vindictive frenemy. She's plain psychopath and needs some prozac IMO.

Main character is soo funny. Like how she's in a new business.

Glad someone-else here on DB likes MLMB:)

The frenemy is definitely whacko.

Roy needs to be slapped - repeatedly by a long line of people!

Everyone needs their own Woo Jae and Nam Na Bi rules.

Crazy-arse Seo Ah is totally deluded.

And it cannot be said again - someone slap Roy or at least feed hims a bottle of laxatives.

I also love Madame Butterfly and I really like the heroine Nam Na Bi. I love the fact she is spunky and self aware. I laughed at the scene where she was saying she is aware she is a bad actress but that doesn't she isn't working had to improve. I also loved how she punched the annoying lead actress in that drama in a drama. I love her relationship with her inlaws and I hope she still maintains the bond when she leaves.

I love Park Woo Yong as WooJae as his character is making me all melty inside. I loved jos lines in ep 16 I think where he said she can go to sleep in the other room, he will keep guard outside and she shouldn't worry as he knows martial arts. Can I have a WooJae for me? And I like how he still isn't giving up winning her whole heart.

Roy is such a scumbug! The second female lead is so annoying but I love the OTP and the in laws.

Hi Shiku!

I also liked how NNB gave up acting and started doing something else.

When I first started watching MLMB I had doubts about whether the actress playing Nam Na Bi was any good but I don't see her as an actress anymore just as the cool NNB. Love how she's so dedicated to her husband.

Woo Jae is a good guy but I think he should have let NNB see 'Roy' for who he is rather than drag it out.

I thought the same thing, he should let her see the real Roy. Yes she will be hurt but in the long run it will help her close the Roy chapter. Then she can move on with him.

Hi All!

Hope everyone's year is off to a good start!

I've dropped CDDA and School and TGS so I only have FBND on my plate plus ILICDD & RunningMan. Hopefully some new crack comes out soon ^.^

As for RL, I've been trying to find an internship for the summer and the process has been almost all stress and pressure. Part of that is my fault because I've been forcing myself to look for one in China which means I'm learning just how woefully insufficient are my Chinese skills TT.TT But I shall persevere like the dreaded 2nd female lead who doesn't understand the meaning of no.

Also, there's this guy who's a classmate. My nickname for him is Mr. Piggyback (let's just say 3 shots were involved on his end and I happened to be standing right by). I'm going up against him in a negotiations exercise. I don't know how I'm going to get through this without 1. giggling 2. being embarrassed 3. not bursting out into laughter.

I'm off to do prep work for the negotiation ^.^

I feel the same!! I haven't dropped it yet but am very tempted cos am not able to get invested in the characters as much as one should be to keep watching. The episodes are not as engaging to me as they seem to be for others but I am curious about what will happen to the kids. Maybe I should do recaps. The recaps make it sound a lot more interesting than when I watch it!!

Phew. Thought I was the only one..

Hi Enz! Ok, happy to report FBRS is watchable.

I realized once I put it on that I had watched the first episode way back when I first started Kdramas (last April) haha. I wasn't hooked; Jung Il Woo's eye placement is all wronge for me.lol. I should have kept watching for the introduction of the Pillar and his pecks. It'll keep me company while I'm waiting for the next FBND and it's arsenal of hotties. :9

I guess I should admit that I've dropped CDDA, too. I keep thinking I'll go back, but just don't. Never started the others, so now I don't feel so bad!

I'm just plugging along with IMY. I think it's gotten a little interesting towards its end, but seriously, can we ever go 10 minutes without someone crying a bucket? (And it's not me!)

Happy Friday Fellow OT Minions! Hope you've all had a fruitful and productive week in between! An extreme hit-and-run from me today, as this morning I have to present a first draft of an outline for a speech I'm giving next week to our Paralegal Association on the new 2013 rules and regulations for litigation e-discovery procedures. What a mouthful, ne?

So that's pretty much taken up all my waking (and some sleeping) hours since last week's OT. I'll have more room to breathe and gossip once I get that out the door, so I'll be back later. Ta for now!

My question of the week is: what's your *favourite* K-drama trope (no matter how faddish or weird it might be)?

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

If you are previously a virgin and have sex with the male lead once -- just once -- you will get pregnant. Not that I get excited or happy when I see it, but it cracks me up. I'm actively trying with my husband at the moment and nothing yet. So probability states... You need sex more than once (not always, of course) to get pregnant. In Kdrama world, the probability of pregnancy is 110 percent.

It isn't actually a trope but what I love in dramas most are quirky-confident characters. Like Anthony in KoD, In Tak of Can Love Become Money or Kim Do Jin in AGD. They are fun to watch. I also like when in course of the drama they face hardships or other problems and they accomodate to the situation yet they stick to their idiosyncrasies :)

Oh yes, I love quirky characters! By the way, it's what I found really cool about Coffee Prince - most of the characters had funny and endearing quirks, which made them much more real.
