1 Night 2 Days: Episode 444

EPISODE 444. Broadcast on June 23, 2013.

javabeans: So here we are for Part 2 of the Bokbulbok Trip, where the show has to go to Joo-won’s hometown (Seoul), in the luxury RV, wearing team T-shirts (which got swapped for slightly more embarrassing outfits), with a stop along the way (to a member’s home), with a snack (ramyun), and no work. Basically it’s the PD’s Bad Luck Trip where the guys get everything easy and he’s left with no entertainingly humiliating footage.

girlfriday: To make up for that is Jong-min, who is currently dressed as Miss Korea (or Disney princess, take your pick) and standing outside YG asking random fans if they’ve seen CL. I’m cringing in embarrassment for him, and his day is just starting.

javabeans: I know, he heads to the info booth to ask about CL’s possible whereabouts, but you just can’t go in dressed in that getup and suggest you’re here to “interview” her, because you just look crazier.

girlfriday: The hyungs don’t look any less crazy though, sitting by the river in their strange outfits with nothing to do but look like a group of bored crazy people.

javabeans: Shi-kyung is totally getting into his hippie free spirit persona, which makes him look part ’70s porn director. Turns out CL is out today, so the PD tells Jong-min to pick someone else to fulfill the mission. So Tae-hyun starts rattling off a bunch of impossible stars (mixed with a few possible ones), like Jeon Ji-hyun, Sohn Ye-jin, Suzy…

girlfriday: Haha. So basically just even more embarrassing/impossible, times six.

javabeans: He spins a few times and is all, “That was practice!” An ajumma finally spins and lands on Sistar, which seems doable. Easier to get idols than A-list actresses, for sure.

girlfriday: Oh he’s got an easy connection too — their manager was once his manager, back when he was an idol, so how hard could this be?

javabeans: As it turns out, it’s not very interesting to watch six guys sitting around trying to figure out what to do.

girlfriday: Right? Go figure. I don’t know why we’re not editing around this stuff.

javabeans: Or… this IS the edited version.

girlfriday: They finally get a game plan going and set up in a park. But it’s another version of the bokbulbok wheel event they had on the beach at Haeundae… which we already saw the first time. And it wasn’t interesting then, so I don’t know why we’re giving it another go.

javabeans: Dude, it’s the same wheel. They’ve just slapped on pieces of paper over it to write the new entries. I guess I don’t blame them this time because they’re trying to create something out of nothing (gee, wouldn’t it be great if there were a staff for that?) but like you said, this was not fun the first time either.

girlfriday: I’m fast-forwarding…

javabeans: I’m not fast forwarding literally, but my brain is. Oh, this is uncomfortable, never mind. FFW. Jong-min’s promenade through Seoul is pointless too, but at least it’s so ridiculous that you could just find entertainment in the reaction shots. Then back to the spinny wheel of fast-forwarding. It’s just a bunch of girls dancing on cue.

girlfriday: This goes on FOREVER.

javabeans: Did that lame autograph signing at the end really win them 70 bucks for dinner? Lame. Now are we just going to watch them eat a normal dinner all normal-like?

girlfriday: Apparently. At least Jong-min is having a more interesting day, even if it’s sadder.

javabeans: It’s way sadder to watch him eating chapaghetti out of a plastic bag in a convenience store window with a crowd watching outside like he’s some kind of performance artist.

girlfriday: Plus, he had to earn that money by being a Miss Korea waitress.

javabeans: All three dollars of it. Yeah, much more interesting. On the bus he chats with a few other passengers, until one woman blurts, “What about Joo-won?” Ha, that’s not awkward or anything. Turns out she’s a huge fan, and her smartphone screen is papered with pics from a Joo-won blog.

girlfriday: That’s cute. Meanwhile the other boys now have to figure out where to sleep, which is harder than it sounds because they have to house the staff too. Otherwise they could just sleep in the car.

javabeans: I know this show has done impromptu trips before and made the boys fend for themselves and come up with their itinerary. But they were entertaining. Why does this one feel like the staff forgot to have a meeting and are telling the cast, “Figure it out”?

girlfriday: Because I think the staff forgot to have a meeting and are telling the cast to figure it out. SIGH.

javabeans: I mean, it’s fine to tell seven guys they have ten bucks and a screwdriver and make them figure it out. But to tell them to find a place for eighty staffers to sleep? Uh…?

girlfriday: Or at least add a time limit so there’s less meandering. Anyway, back to Jong-min, who finally makes it across town to see Sistar. He crashes their practice session and tells them his mission, which horrifies them a little, but then he asks to learn their dance, and it’s pretty cute ‘cause he’s dressed like a princess and learning the steps.

javabeans: Also, he’s not good enough to be good, but is just good enough to catch on and be funny. Although I really do think that his Miss Koreawear is his saving grace, because it makes him interesting and pathetic, instead of creepy or just dull.

girlfriday: I know. It instantly makes him non-threatening, which you kinda need when you’re crashing a girl group out of nowhere.

javabeans: Jong-min finally trudges to basecamp after his hard day, and I feel tired just watching him. I’ve had my issues with liking him before but I really think he did a great job of just sucking it up today and Getting It Done, and with a smile on his face.

girlfriday: And when he says “I missed you guys,” with tears in his eyes, it’s so endearing.

javabeans: But sadly, I feel like the other six guys sort of stand out in relief next to him, because they actually kind of rolled in luxury so complaining feels whiny. Like they tell Jong-min they couldn’t even start dinner bokbulbok without him, as though that was so hard, only you just stuffed your faces with fried chicken with the allowance money you barely earned so you know what, I don’t really care that you had to wait another hour for your *real* dinner.

girlfriday: Seriously. They make Jong-min play for the group (he has to choose between two watermelon wedges with a 50:50 shot at dinner for everyone) and tell him either way he can eat the rest of the watermelon, heh. Can we just let him eat please?

javabeans: Yeah watching someone eat ramyun out of a plastic bag is really the bottom of the pathetic barrel.

girlfriday: Thankfully he picks the right wedge, so they get to eat.

javabeans: But it’s not over yet, because they have to choose WHAT to eat (another game of chance) and who has to get it, and all that.

girlfriday: Agh. So many games. I can’t believe I just said that, but there are too many games.

javabeans: It’s because it’s like hell for indecisive people, where you nitpick every little decision to death and it makes you want to SNAP at some point and just be like, JUST PICK A THING AND LET’S DO IT OH MY GAHHHH.

girlfriday: Especially when dinner turns out to be more convenience store food that they have to go get themselves (at least I’m guessing that’s where they’ll go at this hour).

javabeans: So Tae-hyun and Joo-won are picked as dinner delivery boys. Oh god and then right away they play another game for sleeping bokbulbok. God, I know we discussed dropping this show at the end of a trip, but I’m considering dropping this show in the middle of a game.

girlfriday: I know, why are the games so boring?

javabeans: First of all, it’s because we’re watching games that are all about planning a thing, not actually the thing. Who wants to watch a wedding being planned, instead of just going to the damn wedding? And second, it’s because there’s nothing at stake. So what if one cast member gets stuck delivering food instead of the other cast member? What’s the point?

girlfriday: Nothing, sadly, which is why this feels like a pointless exercise.

javabeans: The one funny thing about the sleepy wheel is that among the choices (like sleeping only an hour at a time, or in your underwear, or sitting), they land on “sleep comfortably.” The PD is like, Seriously?!

girlfriday: Well, you’re the one who designed the games with comfortable OPTIONS the whole day, so whatchoo gonna do?

javabeans: Yes, this is what we call design flaw. Why even offer the luxury RV, instead of a clown car without AC? Why no bus passes instead of cars? Why were there T-shirts at all and not six parkas and a Miss Korea gown?

girlfriday: He should trade a bigger dinner for the underwear option.

javabeans: We should just produce the damn show.

girlfriday: Tell me about it. Though I’m too mad at it these days to even do that. So all the guys spin for indoor/outdoor sleep, and Hae-jin suggests adding a half-in/half-out option just for kicks… and then lands on it. Ha. Tae-hyun and Joo-won go get ddukbokki for everyone, and then it’s bedtime.

javabeans: They sleep, and in the morning they have to do this karaoke-pedometer mission, where they’re trying to score on the singing front while simultaneously logging steps. This should be funny. I don’t actually understand why it isn’t. Maybe because there was no setup or context? They’re just jiggling around singing and showing off their step counts.

girlfriday: Yeah because there was no setup. Though Joo-won’s dancing always gets a laugh out of me.

javabeans: Then New PD has the boys list a place in Seoul they like to go to so they can introduce them on the show, because he’s just given up any pretense of having prepared for this trip at all. And then the boys split up to go hiking, or street shopping, or yaaaaawn. I get the point of this exercise, but to me it looks like watching people walk down a street looking at stuff. Wait, it’s not LIKE that, it IS that.

girlfriday: Hae-jin climbs a mountain and the other boys do touristy things, and Joo-won and Shi-kyung visit Alex’s restaurant. I don’t think I would’ve minded it so much if the rest of the episode had been chock full of laughs, because the travel bits are normal for this show. It’s just that on top of an episode that was lackluster, it just feels like drawing out the ending with filler stuff.

javabeans: This whole episode felt like filler, in a more drawn-out way than usual. I never fast-forward this show, even in the slower moments, just on principle—how can I recap if I haven’t seen it? But the show has gotten so irrelevant at points, and so meandering, that you can honest-to-goodness fast-forward whole chunks and miss nothing.

girlfriday: Basically, the whole show has felt that way for a while now, which is why this is going to be our last recap for 1 Night 2 Days. It wasn’t an easy decision, especially because I’ve watched this show for YEARS and letting go is hard, but to be honest, this isn’t the 1N2D that I knew and loved. At least not anymore.

javabeans: I feel like I was going to go out with a lot of tears and bittersweet memories and fond nostalgia and maybe a nice ending tribute to the show we’ve known and loved… but you know, I think most of my love is pretty much gone. I find I actually have very little to say. And I don’t think this decision comes as a surprise, either, since the writing has been on the wall for a while now. It just took us a long while to actually cut the cord.

girlfriday: I do still have lots of love and nostalgia for the old 1N2D, but that show ended long ago and will always hold a special place in my heart. I just don’t think I have any tears for this one.

javabeans: It would have been nice for the show to end its years-long run on a high note instead of steadily sinking downward, just for fans’ sakes. But I suppose that makes the decision easier for us, inasmuch as it’s really quite a painless and natural course of action at this point.

girlfriday: I know people always say, “It’s not you, it’s me,” but in this case, it really really is YOU, Show.

I completely understand why you're stopping, and I don't blame blame you ladies. It is so sad that 1n2d is like this now. I enjoyed the Na PD and Bird PD episodes, but it's definitely time to call it quits. Maybe I'll try Dad, Where Are We Going?

Thank you, JB and GF! I don't look forward to new eps of this show now, which really says something about it. :(

I loved ALL of the old season, even after KHD left. Na PD really kept the show going, as did the rest of the boys. It was ALL funny and touching, up to the last moment.

New season... meh. BAD BAD BAD since hamster PD took over. Someone give him the BOOT already! Bird PD wasn't half bad!

Today is a sad day :( I'll miss the recaps of 2D1N. I always enjoyed reading the recaps... I really hope if kbs really planing to keep the show running for a longer time that they find a better PD who has a better strategy to make us enjoy...I feel so bad about the guys and the stuff , they suffer for nothing and they waste their time filming and the final result is bad :(

it really breaks my heart to see that my fave show has become like this. i totally agree that this show has become boring. the new pd is so lacking in ideas to make this show more entertaining. i think he's intimidated w/ the cast of this show. he easily gives in to their whining. even cha taehyun, whom i like, also seems boring. all he do is laugh out loud even in the slightest things. i remember sugeun telling the director, "pdnim, why are you so nice? make the games harder. the rest are not taking it seriously." i feel for sugeun & jongmin. they know that the pd is lacking so they're themselves are creating situations just so the show becomes interesting. i hope it's still not too late. i hope sugeun & jongmin will not give up on this show. and i really really hope that either the pd realize it and make some drastic changes, or better yet, they change the pd again..

I'm a RM fan and I'm not laughing right now. I get that 1N2D is competition for RM but a show's decline is never a good thing. People work hard on both shows - I'd want RM to draw in viewers because of its increasing quality, not because its competition is decreasing in quality (aka I'd want it to be the best, not the least worst). Some people may be happy, but please don't generalize all RM fans.

Thanks girls for recapping the show for the past few years. Honestly i stopped watching since Seungwoo(?) left. No, the ep before he left... Cant bear another goodbye =(. 1n2d will always have a place in my heart. I knew and love Korean variety shows firsthand through 1n2d almost 6years ago. Found ur recaps since its waaay faster than ㄱㅂㅅ subs. Found myself Lol-ing while reading. Its just not the same anymore and i knew this was coming... But i will always support the boys. Fighting!!! 1n2d! Variety Jongshin(?)!!!! Thanks GF and JV again for all your hardwork!

This new PD seriously sucks. He doesn't seem to know what to do with the cast, poor planning for games and the editing is even worse. Sack him and change to a new PD FFS.

1N2D is my Sunday comfort food for years and it really breaks my heart to see it become like this now. Really. :(

Thank you JB and GF for introducing me to this show when you guys started with recaps for Tae-woong's episode. All it took for me was a clip of 'Seung Mi' bathing and then several older episodes to join the 1N2D fanclub forever.

I'll admit this: I'm very, very fond of the old 1N2D. However, I still try to watch Season 2 of Bird PD era and while I find it not as entertaining as before, it's still enjoyable somehow. While I think they have good teamwork overall, they are too nice for a variety show.

Season 2 made me realize that Season 1 cast members always try to create a funny/entertaining situation (e.g. submerging in sea during winter when it's not for food or sleeping quarters) and at that moment I realize what their 'Variety Spirit' is really about. Of course the editing and snarky PD captions helped a lot too. I think the misconception lies here: people think they are funny just being themselves but sometimes people don't see the sheer amount of effort they took just to be funny on camera. It certainly takes a lot more effort than being just themselves and shedding whatever cool or nice image they have for the sake of variety. People just don't tend to realize that.

That said, I think the Bird PD and New PD tentatively understand the crux of the show with the former obviously better than the latter. They put them to perform on stage, make them wear embarassing clothes, make them interact with locals at a market, have a freestyle trip based on purely bokbulbok, etc. The ideas were executed in Season 1 with good and memorable results, which was perhaps why the PD employed it recently in this episode. It just didn't work out because there was no anticipation, excitement or any element of surprise. There was no 'situation' created to save themselves from this ordeal.

I feel sad because of Jongmin and Suguen because I can see that they're trying so hard to make the show more entertaining, it breaks my heart. It's a pity for Hae-jin because I like his ad-lib and he seems natural on variety.

Personally, I feel that the members now lack a certain 'Variety Spirit' and also lack the support for each other. It's sad because the bromance was why the show was so endearing while being entertaining. I don't feel good when the rest sort of complained that they couldn't start the dinner Bokbulbok because of Jongmin, because I'm used to hearing words like, 'Good job', 'You've had a hard time', 'You've done well' whenever someone trudges back to basecamp after being left behind or something. TBH, I don't have a particular fondness towards Jongmin, but at that moment I just want to hug him and say, 'You've done well, great job,' just to give the poor guy some encouragement. The lack of support also reflects on Su-guen, who used to be the king of ad-libs.

My bias is obviously the original 1N2D, but I don't want to see Season 2 going off-rails as well. It's just too damn painful. But sometimes you have to learn to let go.

Season 1 crew made it look so easy, but this show was a lot of work, and you can't force great chemistry no matter how hard you work at it.

That goes for chemistry between members, with the staff, and with the premise of a variety show. When all three are aligned, it usually makes for a fantastic show. Season 2 crew had the first two, but not the latter unfortunately. To give them credit, it's VERY rare for all the chemistry to align like that.

That said, I really think that Na PD did an excellent job of casting the right people for the job, writers and staff included.

I still watch 1n2d and skip to SSK moments, but I only watch approx 10 mins of the show now. I thank DB team for keeping at it until they hit their limit. Scanning through their recaps help me to pick out moments to watch for, or find humor in the really weird editing these last few episode.

Great job, girls! I hope you'll pick up another variety show to recap, one that you can both enjoy watching and sharing with us. :)

Once Bird PD and Seung Woo left, I really felt the shift. It stopped feeling like the show I become addicted to over the course of one year.

As someone who started IN2D with the new members, I don't have any nostalgic feelings about the old cast.
But I feel that the show has lost the magic it used to have. And if I was feeling that loss having been around for a year, I can only imagine what viewers who've been watching since the beginning are feeling.

The writers and new PD have done an abysmal job of keeping the energy that initially worked so well. It's just not as fun anymore and I completely understand why the recaps will end here.

And considering how things have been going, I wouldn't be surprised if it might be the end of the road for the show soon. A shame.

Aw, I have a feeling you'd stop one day since it IS getting extremely boring, confusing and frustrating to watch. I have watched 1N2D since the beginning and I actually just stopped watching awhile back and read your recaps instead. Now I don't think I have anything left to hang on to. Thank you for recapping this show! It's bittersweet to say goodbye to this show really. It was my favorite, but time to move on.

Tremendous THANK YOU to you girls for sticking with it for so long, and for introducing me to the world of 1N2D!!

I've learned games and food I never knew existed.

Am reading through everyone's comments while listening to Sung Si Kyung singing "Things to Do Tomorrow" - so sad! Not ready to break up with the show just yet, so I'll keep watching it ... for Si Kyung oppa, of course.

Does anyone know if they have any plans to make DVDs (of Season 1 or 2)?

Meanwhile, looking forward to Grandpas Over Flowers - maybe Hamster PD can learn a thing or two!

I'm a lurker lol but I'll say something today. I've read all the 1N2D recaps throughout the years and thank you for sticking it through!! Though it's sad that you'll stop recaping but I totally understand. I couldn't finish watching episode 441 where I think Yoona first appeared but yeah... I always finish watching 1N2D so it really says something when I couldn't even watch it half way through.

I think I'm just gonna go back and watch season 1~ I really do miss the old cast. I appreciate the new cast and I know how hard they work but really... the new PD is really messing everything up :( it's such a great show. This is why I got into variety in the first place and now well... other shows have my attention, sigh.

Thank you for your recaps all this time...

It's so sad to see your favorite show falling apart. I started to watch this show for Joo Won only. But I came to love this show for what it was before the new PD. So I can understand how it might be feel for people who watched it from season 1. Even I feel that this show is boring and lost it's touch now. It's like meaningless game after game after game and so on. If they win they get a prize, if they don't win they get a lesser prize. You can tell by the member's reaction that they're not even exited to win a game. They're like "yaaayyy!" instead of "YYAAAAYYYYY!!!!!" like in the earlier episode when they won a bokbulbok :(

And this new PD really need to learn about editing for variety. Everything feels soooo looooonnngg and boring. I expect there will be changes in the coming September. Either member jumping ship, PD change, or KBS pulls its plug completely

thank you ladies for recapping 1n2d these 2 years! i saw this day coming when i watched this episode before reading the recap...sighhhh...this new pd is really ruining it.

i watched this show since season 1, not because of any particular member. it's my first korean variety show and i wasnt familiar with korean entertainment scenes so i didnt know any of them but i became so attached to them later on that my heart tugged when each member left. and finally when they announced to end the show, i cried. i never felt this way towards any tv shows before. it's strange. that's how much i loved them.

season 2 with bird pd was good but this new pd has to blow it! why is he doing this to us?! is he a spy sent by rival broadcasters?! i feel bad for the 7 members for having to film with him...

i am still watching the show for sung shi kyung and hoping for miracle that the show gets its grooves back.

On another note, can u pleaseeeeee maybe recap Barefoot Friends at least as a trial. I swear that show is getting better now. Who knows, it might stuck as a regular recap if things keep looking up^^

Thank you so much JB and GF for ALL the awesome recaps you've done over the years! It was stumbling on your site so I could read My Name Is Kim Sam Soon recaps (and thank you Samsooki!!) and figure out what the heck was so great about k-dramas--and then I got sucked into 1N2D by all the shiny screencaps of food and bokbulbok games and Seung-gi and Uhm Taewoong and MORE food and everything. I've completely hurtled over the edge into k-drama/variety obsession, and don't regret any minute of it (except maybe Big. Let's not think about that epic mess.)

Your wit and hilarious commentary, especially for 1N2D, has made me feel like I'm watching right alongside you guys, and thoroughly enjoying all the ridiculous hijinks of the 1N2D members and crew. Thank you again for the countless hours spent writing recaps, sticking it through, and loving the show to pieces.

(and on a much happier note: OMGOMGOMGOMG HURRY UP GRANDPAS OVER FLOWERS! MORE THAN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE! NA PD! OMG. I can't wait for your girls' take on this!)

aww, first I want to thank you girl for being such a good sport about the show. In my opinion, 1n2d season one spoiled us rotten and since their last episode I have not seen 1n2d as before. I stay with the show because I do like Lee Seugeun, he is a great entertainer, and the rest of the old crew. But this new PD is killing it with no mercy. KBS need a special meeting to save this wonderful show.

Thanks for all the 1n2d recaps - I discovered the show through your very first recap of it (the one where Tae Woong joined), and re-read all the S1 recaps many times over. I laughed hysterically at all the inane tasks the cast went through, and cried the last episode of S1 when Na PD choked back tears to thank everyone.

Na PD, I believe, grasped 100% what made 1N2D so good. He understood the balance between setting up an interesting, yet controlled environment, letting the boys run with it, then inserting witty editing to tie everything together. He understood the balance between humanity and variety. Bird PD wasn't as natural at it as Na PD was, and that, in combination with the loss of Ji Won and Seungi (and Ho Dong) made S2 lose a little of what made it so special. But the underlying spirit of the show was still there, and with the likable new cast, S2 was still entertaining enough.

New PD (and probably new crew) never seemed to understand what made 1N2D, well... 1N2D. Editing is obviously not among his talents, but I think the lack of editing actually exposes his fatal flaw - the fact that he's just not witty enough for this show.

Sigh... it was a good run though, and I did (in Na PD's time) learn a lot about the rest of South Korea.

Thanks JB and GF!

The best 1N2D cast was Ho Dong, Su Geun, Ji Won, Seung Gi, MC Mong, and Kim C (and Sang Geun). The show really went downhill from there. I never even watched Tae Woong.

Haizz, I knew this would happen, that's why I did the wise choice of not watching ss2 in the 1st place. The show is losing its purpose & meaning, now it's just a ridiculous crazy cross-dressing show with all the forced laughters, poor Su Geun, the new PD is really messing all up just for the sake of rating. Well, off to watch ss1 again now, they never fail to make me laugh no matter how matter time watching.

I just finished an earlier episode in frustration and wrote a long rant of a comment, and then I noticed the 1N2D box is now in the "Recently Completed" part under the "Recapped Series" links at the bottom of the page.

Thanks javabeans and girlfriday, for getting me started on 1N2D - I had known of the show earlier but never knew when to get on board since it had already been running for a few years; it was your recap that made me see that I could hop onto the bandwagon and not be disoriented (with girlfriday's very helpful explanations of 1N2D terminology like bokbulbok, etc.).

The past 2+ years have been great, and I got to see lots of awesome locations in Korea vicariously through the show, while laughing so hard I tear. Thank you both for all your recaps that helped me enjoy the show even more. I'm happy for both of you to have come to this decision to give up on the show and end your recapping at this one.

I won't be saying goodbye yet though... because I'm gonna spend the next few years slowly watching the earlier Season 1 episodes right from the earliest I can get. Knowing there's lots more wickedly funny stuff awaiting me is making me excited. :D

If the current 1N2D does get back to its origins, someone out there please let us all know!

I love Season 1 attempted to watch Season 2 to see is it as good as before....totally disappointed and boring that I cannot watch a full episode. I used to think LSG and KJM are very funny but in Season 2 they doesn't seems to really bring out the show.

Really should end this show before rating drop below 2 digit?

The show is actually getting noticeably better, so it's such a shame that you stopped recapping.

OMG - the notes that everyone is writing sounds like our 7 boys died and the show is cancelled. Ha!

I will continue to watch because I still like it (not the "laughing until tears drop" but....) It's still a good show just less so.

I am confident it will turn around and be hilarious because they did it once - it will come back.

I actually liked this episode. As always I felt bad for Jongmin but he manned up and rocked his mission. I like how he kept his white T shirt on under the dress!

Thank-you DB and GF for introducing me to this show. Please come back with more recaps when it gets better because you are very funny and notice things in the show that I don't.

Ok: Fighting!

The KBS world ep with the Gangneung Bau trail trip is nice! Especially when Si Kyung is talking to his future gf.. Wish it will be me. :)

Shame on you people for not moving on from season 1. These guys are adorable. You should give them a chance. And stop looking for season 1 in season 2 because you will just disappoint yourselves.

Expectation is the root of all disappointments.

Fighting 1n2d seasons 1 and 2!!!
