Lee Jin-wook lines up action-thriller film

Coming off a great run as the hero in cable drama Nine, Lee Jin-wook is adding a film to his upcoming schedule and is in final negotiations to join Point Blank, the remake of the French thriller that earlier cast Ryu Seung-ryong. Can the screen take that much scruffy rugged hotness at once? Get ready to find out.

Lee Jin-wook and Ryu Seung-ryong will form an unlikely alliance in the film, where Ryu is a killer who’s being hunted by cops and hitmen alike. Lee Jin-wook is a doctor who helps Ryu (he was a nurse in the original), and when the doc’s wife is kidnapped the two men join forces to rescue her.

I love Ryu Seung-ryong in anything he does, and Lee Jin-wook has really come into his own post-army service and seems to be picking interesting projects. (His earlier career was a lot more uneven, and I remember thinking he had a raw charm that could swing either way—great if he learned to channel it, but potentially stuck in mediocrity if not. Thankfully, I think he’s out of the clear on that one, or at least heading that way.) A taut action-thriller seems like a good fit for both actors, and I love the idea of their unexpected partnership. Bring it on.

The Point Blank remake (which is NOT the Point Break remake, I have to keep telling myself—and boy, wouldn’t that be a whole different crazy kettle of fish) will begin filming later this month.

I want him in a 20 hr project, than a 1 or 2hr project.
I dont know, how many times, i cant watch nine.
I mean, i am already on my 3rd watch. And, sigh!!!

But, if anything, he is one of the BEST pictured/flimed KISSER in all of K-dramaland. =)

1st saw a bit of LJW in that mediocre spy drama w/ Eric which really didn't give much of an impression of LJW as an actor, but then saw him in INR2012 and thought that his career as a male lead will take off.

Actually 1st saw him on FO where he drove Yoo Jae-suk crazy (funny how his personality is so different from what I have seen of him onscreen; also seemed a good bit smaller than when starring in dramas).

RSR is a real man's man. Loved him in Arrow as the bad guy you almost want to win.
Putting LJW with him makes this very very interesting.

I'll watch RSR in anything, so I had this film on my list. this is going to be really good for Lee Jin Wook, who I always liked but felt like he could do more and then Nine came along and I knew I was right. Now this . . . Good move for all of us.

Yeah I really liked most of it. The story was really well written (as expected from the Queen Inhyun's Man team), beautifully shot and most of the cast did great to carry the show- especially The Lee Jin Wook himself. The conflicts felt very real and you can feel for the characters. There's definitely less action than in QIHM, or at least a different kind (I don't mean the naughty sort); I think it's less about the mystic stuff than it is a human drama. How you make choices and how you deal with consequences

The ending wasn't quite what I expected (it's slightly similar to QIHM in that it's abrupt, but it's more an open ended thing, hard to figure out. Whereas QIHM felt like it ran out of time and they found a cheap way to end the story). I didn't really like it though, I don't like to think too much with my dramas these days

I don't think I spoilt anything, right?

Well-scripted and well-directed and well-acted.

Slight problem with the woman in the writing, which they tried to fix near the end, but didn't quite fix. (i.e. she didn't have a life outside of the male main character...)

Other than that it's a tense ride in the right way. Watch for derp and rat face if you want a drinking game.

hopefully i'll be able to see this somehow because i fell in love with him after nine!!!! that drama is definitely in my top 5 if not top 3. probably top 3. action/thriller is definitely up his alley - he had me on the edge of my seat with nine.

Oh man a manly man and our scruffy hot hero.

What a combination. I think I can safely say I would take 2hrs plus of them on screen. Looking angsty and tense.

Yay :-)

So looking forward to this. Great pairing as I like them both. Let's just hope there are no fishes in the movie. Some of you will understand this comment if you saw RSR recent film...maybe last year or so. LOL

First time I saw him was in Nine. Really like his acting! He's in my man-to-watch list together with Kang Ji Hwan, Song Joong Ki and The Uhm Man (forgot his real name)

:-P I first read that as 'Point Break' too. Wishful thinking I guess - because that would be awesome! Surfing and bank robbing...(and Lee Jin Wook could totally do the Keanu part - not sure about Ryu Seung-ryong in a wet suit...). oh well, I'm sure this will be good too. But still, it was much more entertaining for a moment there.

Love RSR. Should be a wonderful film.
Seen LJW in earlier dramas..but I think he is so much improved and I enjoyed watching him in Nine.
I think he's HOT, but the grandpa glasses he's wearing is dorky looking.

Is there some sexist reason they couldn't keep Lee Jin-wook's character a nurse like in the original?
