IU up for Pretty Man?

How strange to bury such news on the weekend, but IU is reportedly considering taking on KBS’s Pretty Man as her next drama project. Her reps have confirmed that she has received the offer, though she has yet to accept.
I thought IU was going to focus on her singing duties next with promotional activities for her third album, now that she’s wrapped her months-long weekend drama You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin. It would be a pretty swift turnaround to dramaland if she did take on this series, which has lined up Jang Geun-seok cast as the titular pretty man and Lee Jang-woo as second lead.
IU would play the heroine’s role of Bo-tongie, and although I chafe whenever you take a beautiful starlet and insist (within a drama’s context) that she’s not pretty—which the naming effectively does, as Bo-tongie is tantamount to calling her Ordinaria, or Averagina—I can see how IU has the girl-next-door appeal to sell that everygirl persona. Kind of. She’s described as having pined over our gorgeous, lady-killing hero for the past ten years (and we know how unrequited love is pretty much the hallmark of the everyday, nothing-special heroine). The drama will center around the hero’s path to finding both true love and his lost family, and also his progress in seducing ten women. I’m still trying to understand the plot, frankly. I’m hoping it makes sense at some point.
Pretty Man will follow Wednesday-Thursday’s currently rising star, Secret, and premieres at the end of November.

This news is buzzing around a little too much lately. IU Fans worried that JGS might Deep kiss her LOL and better she focus on her music at the moment . JGS fans don't want her giving Random Reasons about her acting and compatibility quotient with him onscreen.
Whatsoever the reasons are....majority don't want her to do this .
Am not sure of her either , I'd still be giving it a chance for the writer and JGS -- Since the guy can actually Act .
Goodluck to IU if she is up for it .

I completely fell in love with IU on ytblss and I loved JGS pre- Love Rain. Ah!!!!!!!! I want to watch this already! kyaaaaaa they will look so cute together I can picture it already

ooopps..correction..NOT all JKS eels dislike IU. :) In fact, we recognize her talents (both as a singer and actress, given LSS). :) yes, she's an idol, but everybody deserves a chance, like JKS has for some.
as for those wishing JKS will cut his hair..give your hopes up, since he already mentioned cutting it come third week of October. :)

I miss Jang Geun Suk the actor, will definitely watch this. Not worried about IU, surprisingly she's good in her last drama lot better than some idols. Chemistry wise - JGS can have a chemistry even with a wall lol. Seriously Jang Geun Suk is one hell of a great actor.

JGS is a good actor. IU is better than Yoona in terms of acting ability. And she can sings. I can imagine a really nice ost already.
I don't know why people are complaining about stupid plot. I would say majority of the korea drama are cliche and predictable and nothing very intelligent.
I actually prefer rom-com as i can forgive their silliness since i watch with little expectation.

IU is not pretty and is such a dull actress. I wish Sukkie will have a different lead actress. IU should just focus on singing!

Sukkie is my favorite and boy,he is a good actor and he can play around with IU in each scene with his fingers! There will be more exictement however if it were another young lady with him.

Love Jang Geun Suk just because of those lips, hated him with Yoona but that her fault entirely no soul in that girl. I would love to have seen him with Suzy, she come out the gate running in her last drama even Uee would have been nice. IU ...Who? I always have to take a minute to figure out who she is because she didn't leave an impression on me with her drama LSS.
Jang Geun is a slow sexy which is much more dangerous I would have love to see him with a person that can match that.... but when I think of actress not exclude myself that can embrace his hottest they are older so I guess I'm ok with letting this one pass like I did the drama with Yoona.

Actually Uee isn't a bad choice having said that she is pretty and can act much better than IU. IU who definitely fits in the "Average" looking tag ,but if she ain't gonna be Someone who is Pretty to look at , Atleast her Acting should be worthy . Alas! Since she is a idol and still taking baby steps towards acting I think she should pass this and let someone else do it as for me she ain't a good actress for a Idol yet (again that's my pov )
I have read several reviews about her music recently.....looks like she is doing pretty well better stay focused on it .

I can't stand IU , her previous drama was terrible and so was her Acting >.<
Yes! Like few others who mentioned she may have improved in the later episodes but it doesn't really matter as the script is soo Bad that I couldn't pass watching after few initial episodes.
I don't want her with JGS at any cost .

You're The Best Lee Soo Shin actually got pretty low rating compared to previous kbs weekend drama. They got like +/- 30% viewers rating just because of the previous dramas..... IU's acting kinda flat. They're bunch of young talented actresses like Jung So Min (Playful Kiss), or Jo Bo Ah (Shut Up Flower Boy Band), or Yoon Jin yi (A Gentleman's Dignity). IU just don't!!! #my2cents

I cannot believe some of the comments here dissing IU's acting. She's one of the very few idols who can ACTUALLY act well. Even if she isn't the best, she's shown that she truly has potential to become great. And you know, there are some actresses who can't act either, such as Go Hye Sun, Park Min Young, and Park Shin Hye.
