Casting finalized for You’re All Surrounded
These are names we’ve all heard previously linked to upcoming SBS cop drama You’re All Surrounded, but now they’re confirmed as the leads: Cha Seung-won reunites with his Best Love (and CF) frenemy Lee Seung-gi, and Go Ara rounds out the main trio.
Ahh, this is a great lineup, and now I only hope the series can make full use of them. You’re All Surrounded features a set of rookies at the Gangnam Police Department in Seoul; there will be four of them at the center, so aside from Seung-gi and Go Ara we can expect to see two more names. (I’m presuming they’ll be more like sidekicks, so perhaps we’ll get some fresh faces.) Go Ara will play the sole female in the new class of officers, and her character will be bold and persistent—certainly traits we’ve seen her play, as in last year’s hit Answer Me 1994.
Seung-gi’s played a bunch of dorky and heo-dang characters and that’s definitely his real-life image from variety, but he’ll be taking on a different personality as the intelligent, taciturn hero with the IQ of 150 and a painful family history. Cha Seung-won, meanwhile, will play the team leader of the violent crimes unit. I know he’s a badass mofo but he’s also capable of being utterly hilarious, so I hope he’ll get his share of comic moments, preferably with Seung-gi at his side. I mean, why waste a good thing?
You’re All Surrounded, which is written by Ojakkyo Brothers’ Oh Jung-sun, will follow the upcoming thriller Three Days, putting its premiere at the end of April.
