Cantabile Tomorrow: Classical music song list

Sounds like you guys think a list will be handy for identifying all the classical pieces used in Cantabile Tomorrow, so I’ll take a stab at compiling one. I’ll do my best to keep this list updated as new episodes air, so keep note of the page. If I’ve made any mistakes or left songs out, or if you want to help identify songs, I welcome your help! You can leave comments here, or send an email, and we’ll see how it goes.

Thanks!

The drama is doing a great job of using classical music for color. In this episode I especially like The Sugar Plum Fairy suite.

I had been looking for a list like this for the J-drama, so I'm really happy that we finally have one! It's so much fun watching this as a violinist and pointing out all the pieces you've played, accompanied, or listened to:)
For example, the Dvorak (and of course, the Nutcracker), I've played, and the Grieg I've accompanied.
Someone should make this a spotify playlist, or a youtube one!

I knew the story she was telling in class had to be Peter and the Wolf, but I'm so used to hearing the grandfather's theme be played by the bassoon that I didn't quite recognize it. I love Peter and the Wolf; I'll forever be grateful to my 4th grade music teacher for playing the recording for us in class. I personally own the version in which David Bowie is the narrator.

Thanks so much for the list!

At 51:05, when the maestro watches the woman play and comments that she still makes his heart beat, the piece she plays is Chopin's Ballade No.4, and Krystian Zimerman's version is one of the best interpretations of this piece. :)

Isn't it an original piece? In the manga it's a tune called the cleaning song that Nodame plays impromptu. It would be odd if they used an existing composition for this.
