B1A4’s Jinyoung a possible addition to Warm and Cozy

With the leads selected for the upcoming Hong sisters drama Warm and Cozy, it’s time to turn to the supporting cast, and the newest name to be added to the pile of potentials is B1A4 idol Jinyoung, who just wrapped on the Mnet drama Persevere, Gu Hae-ra.
Warm and Cozy is set on Jeju Island, with leading man Yoo Yeon-seok (Answer Me, 1994) playing a restaurateur, while leading lady Kang So-ra (Misaeng) will be an employee of a clothing agency. Plot details are still thin and I don’t know how their lives intersect, but hey, at least the leads have jobs now. Jinyoung’s agency confirmed that he’s positively considering the role of an employee at the restaurant, working under Yoo Yeon-seok. Knowing the Hong sisters, it’ll probably be a cute sidekick role that’s fairly minor but has the chance to steal the comic-relief spotlight, if he’s able to make use of the opportunity.
I only know Jinyoung from Gu Hae-ra, where I thought him likable as twins Se-chan and Ray, though not much of a standout; acting-wise, I found him to be one of the weaker links in a cast that was kind of so-so to begin with. (I loved the story and thought the group dynamics cute and charming, but the overall acting level did tend to let a little air out of the proceedings.) But the dual roles of Se-chan/Ray did perhaps demand the most emotional range, and perhaps he’ll be better in smaller, comedy-tinged bursts of energy.
Warm and Cozy will premiere in May on MBC.

I only know him from Miss Granny, but he was cute there. Not that he had to be anything else, since Shim Eun-kyung was doing all the work in their scenes together.
Speaking of idol castings, the male lead in School 2015 has apparently been offered to Yook Sung-jae now (Plus Nine Boys). I'm good with this offer since he can act and is only a few years older than Kim So-hyun, but I can't believe this drama hasn't finished casting leads yet when it's planning to air next month!

I hope he accepts! I think it would he would be adorable in a side role. I'm just excited for this drama no matter what now that Yoo Yeon Seok has been cast and it's a Hong Sisters' drama!

He was great in Ms. Granny with Shim Eun Kyung as well. Not a great actor-dol but he has a lot of time for growth, and he's not bad either. I rooted for him way more than Hyung in Persevere Gu Haera!

Besides Miss Granny, love him in She is Wow. He was great in that. I was pleasantly surprise. I think he's good in funny comic relief type of roles. I can totally see him rocking this cute sidekick role. Plus he's such an adorable eye candy. Lol. I totally won't mind this addition. Hahaha

I like that he's taking small/amateurish roles. I never like it when a green idol-actor gets a main role in a drama that demands solid acting(Speaking of that, did Hyeri step back from the new Answer Me Series yet?). I'm okay with idol actors as main characters as long as they're good and have been practicing for a while. Jinyoung's not there yet, so baby steps are fine.

Got to know Jinyoung in Goo Haera. I liked his character as Sechan. So I googled about him and watched Ms. Granny and She is Wow. These kind of characters suit him well. I liked him as Ray too, but his character was too refined and passive. Agree, he needs more experience to more 'serious' roles, in time hopefully he will do better.
I put this new drama in my radar. Maybe, a Batman and Robin partnership with some comic inserts will good for YYS and JY.
