First script read for Hong sisters drama Warm and Cozy

Woohoo, production is underway for the new Hong sisters rom-com Warm and Cozy, which reunites the writing team with the PD of Best Love. The creative reunion makes me doubly excited for this new drama, since Best Love was the last time they were pee-your-pants funny. Stars Yoo Yeon-seok (Answer Me 1994) and Kang So-ra (Misaeng) led the cast’s first script read, and a few more story details have been released.
The MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama is a romantic comedy set on Jeju Island, and the title — a Jeju phrase that means “warmth that makes you feel good” — is the name of a restaurant at the center of the story. The drama is about young people getting away from the big city to heal in the countryside, and the leads will work together in the restaurant. Lee Sung-jae (King’s Face), Kim Sung-oh (Records of a Night Watchman), Jinyoung (Persevere, Gu Hae-ra), and Seo Lee-an (Hotel King) co-star.
It’s described as the unlikely romance between an ant and a grasshopper, a la Aesop’s Fable “The Ant and the Grasshopper” (about a hardworking ant who spent his days storing up food, and a lazy grasshopper who sang away his summer and starved to death in the winter). We aren’t told which character is which, but one is the “ant with anger issues,” and the other is the “grasshopper with a lack of affection.”
I think either way you slice it, it makes for a good opposites-attract rom-com pairing. It certainly helps that I can picture Yoo Yeon-seok and Kang So-ra playing the hell out of these characters, and having a great time with the comedy too. The romance is about the two of them running the Warm and Cozy restaurant together, and their relationship slowly coming to resemble the feel-good warmth of their restaurant’s namesake. Aww.
Warm and Cozy follows Angry Mom on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning in May.

Please, someone bring me a tissue or two. I'm so happy this drama is being made, but more then that I'm really happy to see Yoo Yeon Seok in a lead role with the lovely and talented Kang Sora as the female counterpart and all of that is happening in a Hong sisters drama !! Drama gods this sounds really good on paper, but please make this actually be good to see. I can't wait fighting !!! + Kim Sung-oh is part of the cast !!!!!

I really think that they will have an explosive chemistry. I mean, these people always show unexpected good chemistry with their co-stars. Their effect makes you root for them even if they are the second leads.
Put them together and wow. I can't wait to witness the magic. Hong sisters, YYS and KSR, and show... don't let me down!

I'm so excited for Kang So Ra. Never watch Yoo Yeon Seok project before except for Gu Family Book but I can hardly remember him in there lol. But I can see their chemistry. Btw Kang So Ra looks adorable in that picture.

Really worried about this one. I LOVE the leading duo, but Hong Sisters dramas are getting worse with each year. If not for Kang Sora and Yoo Yeon Seok I would have skipped this entirely. I just hope they won't waste such an amazing pairing.

Omygosh this pairing is just so awesome. I'm so glad the KWB casting fell through because this is just So. Much. Better!
I like the simplicity of the plot. I think the Hong Sisters are best when they stay away from paranormal. Best Love and You're Beautiful are my favs from them so hoping this adds to that list.

Best Love is the only one of the Hong Sisters' drama that I have enjoyed from start to finish without using the fast forward button. And it gives me great pleasure that they're working with the PD team of Best Love again. I really like Kang Sora mostly because she was one-half of my favourite ever WGM couple and because I think she's really adorable. I can't make any comments about her acting cause she hasn't necessarily blown me away, it's been more her characters than her acting.

Well its her acting that brings out the characters she played.
WGM is the worst thing she has done. Hope she doesn't need to do this type of reality show anymore. Just focus on her acting career in dramas/movies. Acting opposite experienced good actors is where she could hone her skills not with some singing idol in wgm. I guess sometime actresses had to do that early in their careers sad fact.
Let's hope Hong Sisters come up with a good script of this one.

Since I've only seen her in 4th Period Murder Mystery and Sunny, I can't say she's an amazing actress. I couldn't watch Misaeng anymore about halfway through the second episode because I was bored and I refuse to watch Doctor Stranger because I have a Lee Jong-seok allergy and I've heard terrible things about it, the only thing I've seen her in is WGM which I don't consider an acting gig just a publicity stunt. Hence, I'm going to watch this to see if she's as good as everyone says.

I have my fingers crossed that this drama turns out as awesome as Yoo Yeon-seok and Kang Sora deserve.
The Hong sisters have their flaws but if there is one thing they are good at, it's choosing good OTPs and exploiting the hell out of their chemistry. And PD-wise, while I preferred their collaboration with Jin Hyuk on Master's Sun, I hope this drama is as great on the visual, OST and chemistry front as that one.

Yes! I cannot wait for this drama to start, how adorable is this pairing I can't even. Hoping this drama is up there with my Hong Sisters favorites (Best Love, You are Beautiful and Master's Sun) and expectations to this show are matched. Usually I do not look forward to pairings in dramas, but this one has me excited :D
YYS and KSR are awesome, and together their awesomeness and cuteness will grow exponentially XDDD
They are both gifted actors, stunningly beautiful and so likeable in their roles...
Also, even if sometimes Hong sisters lose their way in the middle of it, they know how to give a drama a special touch. I cannot wait for it to start! :D

I'm excited for Kang Sora... Her character in Misaeng was mostly subdued-fighter/survivor, except for a few brilliant minutes in the beginning, when she played the sexy secretary with bursting curves. Haha.
Just glad she'll have more room to work her acting chops!

From the news articles that came out whem they both confirmed their casting, it was mentioned that YYS gonna be the grasshopper and KSR gonna be the ant.
