Kang Haneul, Park Bo-young in contention for first-love melo Your Wedding

Park Bo-young just signed on to a new drama (the upcoming and hilarious-sounding Oh My Ghostess), but she’s looking to add a movie to her slate, titled Your Wedding. Also positively considering the movie is Kang Haneul (another actor piling on the projects recently, after C’est Si Bon, Twenty, Missing Noir M and Misaeng); reps for both actors confirmed that they’d received offers and synopses, but weren’t finalized castings.
The movie is described as a melodrama about a man who receives a wedding invitation from his first love, which jumps back and forth between the past and the present as it explores the meaning of love. Oof, cue the heart-wrenching. I’m guessing it’s something of a “The one that got away” story, which sounds like the kind of painfully poignant stuff that gets you with its wistful what-ifs and if-onlys. Sort of like Introduction to Architecture, which also intercut scenes from the past alongside the present day. Sigh, Kang Haneul seems determined to break my heart in his roles (okay, except for the ones where he’s playing crazy people or killers).
Well, Korea does love its first-love melos, whether those first love stories end happily or sadly. (One article points out the saying that the Korean film industry has never had a first love melo film fail, which I’m sure isn’t actually true, though it sure seems like it is.) Is it too much to hope that this first-love melo unfolds as he’s on the way to the wedding chapel to object? SPEAK NOW. DON’T HOLD YOUR PEACE! Renovatio, renovatio!

Him, Kim Woo Bin. T.O.P, and Lee Jee Hoon really torturing me with how perfect yet never played a romance drama where they get the girl.
If Kang Ha Naul's character is like or end up like Lee Je Hoon's character in Architecture... *sigh*

If I'm not mistaken, Lee Jee-Hoon is also known as Lee Ji-Hoon. If he is indeed the same person you were referencing, he did get the girl. :) It was in the 2007 KBS2 drama Hello, My Lady! where he played the lead character Hwang Dong-Gyu opposite Lee Da-Hae as Lee Soo-Ha.

Aww this sounds really awesome. The paring, the synopsis, the actors. Kang Ha-neul is so fabulous and really needs to headline a romantic drama or movie. Now I just hope he gets to be the groom in the end.

Awww, I really love Kang Haneul. I watched Twenty primarily for Kim Woo Bin, but Kang Haneul was who really stood out in that movie. And Park Bo Young, well, she's one of my favourite Korean actresses ever. Hope this turns out well!

After the slew of movies and the new drama, can Park Bo Young and Song Joong Ki reunite now that he's out of the army (which btw yay!)..? Preferably a drama, like 20, or even 50 eps? Love love love them. But quite enjoying these pairings and roles for Park. :) and always a yay for Kang.

LOL. The synopsis reminds me of Japanese drama Operation Love. But I anticipate this since Kang Haneul is so much better than Yamapi in term of acting *LOL again*

I really can't with Operation Love. I have never hated main characters as I did with Ken and Rei. Tetsuya was a freaking saint at the end.

I'm so so happy that Ha Neul is being offered main roles. He's really the first kdrama guy I really took note of. He just always shines in everything, even when his part is two seconds long.

I really dislike the whole showing up on day of the wedding to confess your feelings. No one ever talks about the poor groom that was left at the alter or the cost of the wedding that they'll never get back.

but in all honesty, i find it hard to believe ppl will be able to drop everything for a confession at the wedding altar outside of drama.. not just the cost of the wedding, but the families' heart they'll break..

My Secret Hotel did portray the poor groom after the cancelled-marriage. It was just that he wasn't really need sympathy. He found his true love later. :D

(sugar) YES PLEASE!!!! Kang Haneul and Park Bo Young are two actors I really love. The premise just makes me a little sad haha. But it's probably gonna be one of those movies where it just hurts too good. You Are the Apple of My Eye's ending just killed me with its bittersweetness.

A pairing that i could only imagine... has now one step closer to be real......
I was really hoping that the male lead in boyoung unnie's drama to be Haneul, but this is even better....
A youth-romance movie with uri oppa and unnie... what could ever come close to that?

The premise sounds like a Thai film I saw... I think the title was Fan Chan... it also went back and forth from past and present while he was on his way to his childhood bestfriend/first love's wedding. Curious how this one would play out.
