Giveaway: LA Film Festival screenings

Hey, if anyone’s in the Los Angeles area, the LA Film Festival is going on this week (June 10-18), and they were kind enough to offer free tickets for Dramabeans readers to attend two screenings. The first is a Korean documentary, My Love, Don’t Cross That River, a box-office hit about a couple in rural Korea who’ve been married for 76 years. The other is Seoul Searching, a teen movie about a Korean high school misfits set in 1986.

My Love, Don’t Cross That River

Known in Korea as “the 100-year-old lovebirds,” 89-year-old Kang Kye-Yeol and 98-year-old Cho Byeong-man have been married for 76 years. Living in a rural, sleepy corner of the Gangwon province like characters from a fairy tale, they wear matching traditional Korean garments, play fight in the snow and hold hands while sleeping. Shot over 15 months by veteran documentary filmmaker Jin Mo-Young, the film chronicles the couple’s last days together as they sense their love and lives drawing to a close, providing a rare glimpse into an intimate marriage that has more than endured the test of time. This remarkable film broke Korean box office records, becoming the biggest Korean indie film of all time.

Event date: June 17, 3:30PM
Giveaway: Two pairs of tickets

Seoul Searching

Based on filmmaker Benson Lee’s own experience, Seoul Searching is an homage to the John Hughes teen dramedies of the 80s. The story centers on a group of Korean high school misfits from around the world during the summer of 1986. Teens from the U.S., Mexico, Germany, and UK are forced by their parents to attend a government sponsored “propaganda” camp in Seoul to learn what it means to be Korean, but end up experiencing a wild journey that turns into the most memorable summer of their lives.

Event date: June 17, 7:30PM
Giveaway: Five pairs of tickets

I can't decide -

My Love, Don’t Cross That River seems like a really introspective but sweet documentary on love - i'm a sucker for slice-of-life stories of love- but I can never resist any identity-searching band-of-misfits movies either so Seoul Searching seems sounds good too! T.T

Can I just enter both? Either one would be great haha
