Yoo Hee-yeol joins Yoo Jae-suk’s new JTBC variety show

Oh this is gonna be a riot. I already love Yoo Hee-yeol (Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook, Youths Over Flowers) in variety, but he’s especially funny with Yoo Jae-suk (Running Man, Infinity Challenge), and now the two of them are teaming up for Yoo Jae-suk’s first cable variety show over at JTBC.
The still-unnamed show is being called the Two Yoo Project, a pun on their last name Yoo. It seems to be a common theme with them — they were paired together for Infinity Challenge’s biannual song festival in 2013, where their team name was How Do Yoo Dool [dool = two]. The song festival is one of my favorite recurring features in Infinity Challenge (where the members get paired with songwriters to write original songs for a big show), and Yoo Jae-suk’s bickering chemistry with singer-songwriter-MC Yoo Hee-yeol was a hilarious highlight of the last one and I just wanted it to go on forever.
So I can’t wait to see them co-hosting a show where they get to rib each other all day long. They’re longtime friends (Yoo Hee-yeol is the hyung by a year), and they have a similar biting wit that should make for a fun variety show. I hope they intend to announce the program’s basic concept sometime soon, because they’re planning to launch in a month.
CP Yoon Hyun-joon of JTBC’s Crime Scene (and formerly of Happy Together back at KBS) is at the helm, along with PD Jung Hyo-min of Witch Hunt. Crime Scene and Witch Hunt happen to be the two JTBC variety shows that I watch regularly, so my expectations are running pretty high right now. Though really, if you put Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Hee-yeol in a room, wouldn’t they make their own fun?
The Two Yoo Project plans to premiere in August.

darn I was hoping they had a concept for this show already! I am excited but only to a point because it seems jtbc variety shows aren't subbed and welll..my korean is verrrryy limited. :(( but I will probably still try it out..and who knows maybe someone will sub this one!! any one?? pretty please??

Who knows, maybe Bumdi (person who subs Crime Scene/The Genius) will sub this too, even without his/her faves in the show.

The more I read about this show, the more excited I get :DDDDDD Need to remind myself there isn't a concept yet.
I wish it will get subbed or recapped somewhere. Maybe the power of international YJS/RM fans will do it. *cross fingers*

A tangent but Girlfriday watches Crime Scene? I was so sad when it ended; that show gave me life. The cast was great and I loved the PD with all his meta jokes and references in the episodes (idol slave contracts, Up and Down Hotel, and incessant mentions of Lim Yong Hwan and #2, just to name a few). I don't doubt that it'll come back for season 3 since it did quite well, and I can't wait for it.

I'm so here for THIS !. I was in stitches watching them bicker and whatnot in Infinity Challenge and now we get to see it on the regular. From it's inception, even without a clear concept of what the show is about but still for me it sounds promising with just their names alone.

How do "yoo" do? Their R and B rendition of "Please don't go girl" is one of my favorites from that arc. I am still hoping some soul singers here in the US cover that song.

I don't know where Yoo Jae Suk gets the time though. Isn't he doing 5 shows, including this one? His best will forever be Infinity Challenge though.

I agree, girlfriday, those two were adorable together on Infinity Challenge Music Festival. So, I cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves! Aren't the members gearing up for the 2015 Music Featival soon? I would love to see Jae Sook with G Dragon! Kwanghee is such a perfect addition to the team, too, and pairing him up with BoA would be the best, we will have to wait and see!

I'm so torn about this. I mean I want to see this show. But that would mean that it'll take quite a long time for the next season of Crime Scene, wouldn't it? Aaaah. That so breaks my heart. Haha.

I love them!!! This year also when YHY came for the song festival, I thought he was going to appear again but sadly he just came to do some random judging, this year's lineup is pretty great though!
Crime Scene oh crime scene! Please keep Kim Ji-Hoon for the third season. I don't always watch witch hunt but I do it sometimes because Sung Si Kyung is hoot! But with my limited Korean its sometimes tough to understand what they are saying, but getting 70% isn't bad, so even if nobody subs it I'm tuning in for this!
