VIXX’s N up for Sassy, Go Go… Ji-soo out?

…and that means javabeans will be out, too. They can’t take my Ji-soo away and expect me to still care about this show!
Take the news with the usual grain of salt: Casting hasn’t been finalized, actors are still deciding, et cetera. That said, KBS high school drama Sassy, Go Go is now courting idol star N of VIXX for a lead role… which happens to be the same character that was previously out to Ji-soo. There are no reports yet stating that Ji-soo has dropped out, but it’s rare to have a drama publicly courting two stars for the same role at the same time. I’ll hope he’s not out of the running, but I won’t hold my breath.
The character is a super-smart high school student who’s never lost his number 1 ranking at his elite high school, and is also among the top students on the nationwide rankings. He solves advanced math problems with ease and keeps his peers on their toes with his outstanding grades. Not sure yet how he figures into the cheerleading storyline, since the plot unfolds around the shake-up that happens when two clubs are merged, and highlights the hypocrisies of the educational system while also depicting bonds and friendships between its cast of teenage students.
Jung Eun-ji playing the lead cheerleader is one reason I was interested in watching Sassy, Go Go (she’s still considering), and Ji-soo had sealed the deal, since he was so endearing and scene-stealing in Angry Mom. The deal will be unsealed if Ji-soo’s out… but maybe I should just think positively and hope that he dropped this role in order to headline a different project. It could happen, right?
Sassy, Go Go follows Monday-Tuesday drama Strange Daughter-in-Law and premieres later this month.

Me too. He should take his time choosing great roles in great dramas/films that'll better showcase his talent. I don't mind if they're not leading roles, but they should at least be challenging or interesting.
I was bummed that Byun Yo-han went from Misaeng to Ex-Girlfriend Club. Correct me if I'm wrong (I didn't watch it), but it didn't seem like a drama that would level up his acting. For sure, the skills to pull off comedies are hard, but great rom-coms are even harder to come by.

I don't know why people are being so harsh on Lee Won-geun, I realise Wild Chives & Soybean Soup didn't get much audience traction but he was actually good in it.
It's kinda starting to remind me of the way people reacted when Misaeng casting news was announced and virtually everyone was whining about why is Im Shi-wan the lead and not Kang Ha-neul. (I love them both but it got exhausting).
Sure, this new drama will be no Misaeng but it's a bit silly to write off a guy who, based on past performances, can at least act.

Pogo, are you responding to me? I didn't make myself clear, but I was merely agreeing to Jisoo dropping out, not the part about being 2nd lead (to Lee Won-geun). I've never seen Lee Won-geun act, so I'm not comparing the two. I'd just rather see Jisoo in a different drama.

I like Jisoo too but am a bit saddened at all the LWG hate.
People are calling him a nugu and inexperienced when he has had more experience being side characters in dramaland than Jisoo.
It's ok to wish Jisoo is lead, but at least people should look up the lead first before making (incorrect) comments about his talent.

But isn't this drama supposed to air 2 weeks from now? Why is the casting not finalized yet? They need to start shooting the promos and have at least a couple of eps filmed before the drama begins. Even with no sleep this seems impossible to accomplish.

Who knows though--we saw what happened in Who Are You 2015..the one idol actor that no one really knew ended up being the main force in keeping the drama alive. Have hope in idols, they can surprise us at times.

its not like i hate him, but i want him to play a straight romance drama (melo would be great) with older actress. like kim hee ae and yoo ah in after thread of lies then theyre end up together in secret love affair. even if ji soo not melo-ing with kim hee sun (please, be nice. i still got angry mom fever) at least some 30 something actress. it would be awesome if its choi yeo jin. they can play tough vs tough couple XD

(the odds of this boy turning out to be a Yook Sung-jae mk. II are very low, considering YSJ had already shown he was pretty decent at acting in Plus Nine Boys)

sadly that's the way things go...... actors who turn out to be good at their job often get people picking on them for every little thing, while actors who are so bad it makes you question why anyone let them in front of a camera, get defended to death - when even their best performances after years of experience are worse than the ones that more talented actors produce on a bad day.

Omg!!!! I'm a starlight so I can't stop fangirling. Seeing N and Sungjae in their respective dramas around the same time is like a dream come true. Plus I love eunji ever since reply 1997. She will be acting with seo in guk's look alike lol. Although I like Ji soo too ever since I saw him in Angry mom. Haha I'm so excited!

I don't know why people keep saying KJW lost the lead role to Sungjae? They were offered different roles. The male lead was announced to be a police officer (which is now Sungjae's) since the beginning while KJW's role was an art teacher. So KJW must have taken the role knowing it's not the lead.

Kim Jae Wook never lose a role to Sungjae. From the beginning Sungjae was offered the 'policeman role' while Kim Jae Wook is offered the 'art director role'. They are 2 different characters. Sungjae accepted his role while KJW could have turn down his. As simple as that.
I love KJW too and would love to see him as lead but maybe a better drama offer come his way and he chooses that. We should wait and see.

Nooooo! Okay I actually like N too since I first saw him on WGM with Henry, Yewon, and Amber. He was so cute! But as an actor? I'm kinda curious just like how I was with Yook Sungjae....so will be keeping an eye on this.

If both of their desired leads have walked away from the offer, this drama must not be very good. Either that, or Kim Yoo-jung and Ji-soo want to get a meatier role. A high school romcom about cheerleading doesn't seem like it would let their acting skills shine.

The cast is officially confirmed now...Eunji and Won geon as the main leads...and Jisoo, Soobin, and N as other leads.
Now I am getting super excited for many reasons:
1.My lovely Eunji in school uniform again.
2.The handsome smily face Won geon whom I am really excited to see again.
3.N and his great chemistery with Eunji which was shown in Off to School! And they r friends now.
4. Last but not least...Jisoo!! The talented lovely gem!
