Sung Joon and Yeo Jin-gu courted for new film

Sung Joon (High Society) and Yeo Jin-gu (Orange Marmalade) are considering offers to headline a new movie titled Shadow Called Yesterday, the new project from director Lee Yu-bin of the mystery-melo-romance Shuttlecock. What is Shadow Called Yesterday about, you ask?

I HAVE NO IDEA. There’s not a drop of information about the plot, the characters, or the general vicinity of what genre it might be in, so imma go with: It’s anybody’s guess. No really, any guesses you guys?

Lol. Sung Joon's flaws will be even more obvious now that he will act next to Jin Goo.

I am wondering if he has sponsers, he keeps getting all these big roles, and I am yet to be amazed by his skills. Just because he is a 'actor' by title, doesn't mean he is good at it. I can name idol actors who are better than him.

All in all, good luck to both of them.

You can prob ask the same question for Shin She Kyung.
Luckily, she made it up with The Girl Who Sees Smells.
Is she as good in Six Flying Dragons?

Yeah. If these two pair up together it's so obvious who will shine and who will fail.

What?
You sure didn't watched all of Sung Joon's drama and movie. Actually he has improved his acting very well. He did great portraying different characters.
Don't judge an actor acting based on one or two dramas only.

In his last drama, that was the character he was portraying which was boring for some people. On the other side, there's also people who like that kind of character. So it depends on each one' preference.
If you see him act in different kind of character you'll see that he did great portraying various characters.

What did you think of him in Shut up? He got the angst right!

I loved sung joon's character in high society, and I liked his take on the character as well as his character in HYde..., but that's because I don't like how some Korean actors over act. In comedies, it's probably ok.
Although, I think you are right that yeo jin goo can easily outshine sung joon anytime. YJG is such a natural. The reason why I loved moon embracing the sun is because of him and kim yoo jung. It was a little bit of a let down when kim soo hyun and han ga in took over. I'm not saying they did bad. Kim soo hyun was better in MEtS than in Dream High but I didn't think he was able to match Yeo jin goo's intensity.

Ha, it's such a really short article that I need a double take. That's it??
Hmm, maybe it'll be about some painful past stories about those two and how it'll change them. But for Sungjong to act alongaide Jingu....

I really like Sung Joon. Admittedly, I've only seen him in one drama but he was good in it (Jekylll, Hyde & Me). If the "flaws" everyone is talking about comparing is based on his looks, I think he has his own interesting look. I don't need cookie cutter Lee Min Ho's or Ji Chang Wook's on screen (although, if somebody is making duplicates for take home, I'll take a JCW with a bit of aging for home use)...where was I?

Oh yeah...Sung Joon smoldered with mystery in Jekyll, Hyde & Me. Would he ever be one of my biases? As a heartthrob, no. As an actor with something behind the eyes that engages me in the story - hecky yeah.

I think he's super handsome. But as an actor, if you see him in a bunch of things, he's a little one note. I think he's still growing, though.

One of my favorite all time dramas was Shut Up Flower Boy Band, otherwise known as "the great drama with the unfortunate name." He was great in that drama. Check it out.

Yeah, SJ was great in that drama!

Of course, I am amazed that Lee Min Ki managed to stay in our mind (ok, mine) in spite of a short cameo in that series.

Lol. I was suprised to that I enjoy shin se kyung on GWS. She's suprisingly full of expression. Since I remember her in when the man loves or queen seon deok, she was.. Well, expressionless.
She's not bad in six flying dragons too.

I'm always amused at how many people seem to dislike Sung Joon when to me, he's a pretty damn decent actor. He played a terrible character in High Society so hopefully he picks something better this time around.

He's a decent enough actor and has absolutely killed it with even half-decent scripts but his non-cable drama choices are very poor. I mean, Hyde Jekyll and High Society....

Required fields are marked *

Yeah, I like him. I mean, he's maybe not the greatest, but he's pretty reliable, I think. Maybe some boring roles, but I've seen way worse get more praise.

Its not hate but I don't think he has enough range. There are actors who can make awful writing and script work but he is not one of them. High Society was poorly written with an absurd plot and his acting was dull and half the time he was just saying his lines like reading a book and the fact that Uee had zero chemistry with him did not help. I think personally he was himself glad that it was over. I think given the proper writing and direction, he can shine but he just can't rise above if the former don't work.

Sung Joon...... I can't believe the brilliance he showed in SUFBB/Can We Get Married, came down to the utter rubbish that was Hyde Jekyl and his cut-price Kang Maru role in High Society. Talk about wasting his talent. At least he seems better in cable and movies, hopefully he'll be better here.

If you'd told me three years ago that of the White Christmas model-actor boys, the one I'd be most interested in as an actor in 2015 would be Lee Soo-hyuk, I'd have laughed. But here we are, post-Gwi and post-Hyde Jekyll and High Society, and it's absolutely true.

Sung Joon seriously needs to pick better projects. Remember when he was in White Christmas? Nope? Nobody? Okay.... WHITE CHRISTMAS GUYS!!

Anyway, here's hoping this one isn't a horrible mess. His latest work has been largely boring/unwatchable. But well, Yeo Jin Gu being in this means that I won't be able to not watch it so <3 (I'm not creepy, I was born in 97, I swear lol)

Oh and, romantic time-travelling amnesiacs!

It's probably about a stalker friend named Yesterday... And this is like a documentary of his stalking...

Or this maybe a melo about people not being able to move on from the past.

Sorry Sung Joon, I'm not familiar with you. Yay for Yeo Jin Gu!

Yeo Jin Goo as Shadow and Sung Joon as Yesterday..
Shadow called Yesterday because he needs money for his sister's surgery/father's debt/mother's illness etc. Simple.

From the title it sounds like something bad happened in the past because of which they are not able to move on. ..so the movie must be about how they finally moved on ✌✌✌

Funny enough, High Society was the drama that made notice Sung Joon as an actor. I always found him boring in his other roles but I really liked him in High Society and even though that drama was almost as disappointing as Producers because I had such high hopes for it, I really enjoyed his character and his amazing chemistry with Uee in that show. I would definitely watch all their parts again.

Yeo Jin Goo is great. He is so young but already so good.

I don't think when we criticism someone, we dislike him. It just means that we think he is not good enough. Sung Joon i never liked his acting. Not in white Christmas, shut up flower boy band, I need romance 3, Gu family book and not in High Society. I am surprised he keeps getting so many jobs. I guess good looks and height do play a difference.

If he suddenly proves he can act, of course, I will change my perception. I am always glad to see actors work hard to prove people wrong.

One or both of them has dark secrets from past/yesterday which he/they tried to hide or escape.

Then that past follows him/them like a shadow and will haunt him/them in the present.
