Choi Ji-woo, Lee Sang-yoon courted for On the Way to the Airport

On the Way to the Airport is the name of a new project under consideration at KBS, which spent some time (a LOT of time) fighting with SBS to claim Jealousy Incarnate, then sulking about losing it. I guess they decided to move on to more productive avenues, and word is out that offers have been made to Choi Ji-woo and Lee Sang-yoon to headline the new drama in the timeslot meant for Jealousy Incarnate. But… we just saw them together in Twenty Again!
Not that I disliked them together, since they were adorable and that drama was sweetly funny and I loved their rapport as bickering adults with crushes on each other (well, mostly it was him crushing on her)—but I tend to think couple reunions work best when some time has actually passed between shows. (Twenty Again wrapped last October.) Still, I suppose I wouldn’t be unhappy to watch them be Twenty Again Again, although reps for both stars stated that they’ve only received offers, and have not decided anything.
About the story: On the Way to the Airport centers around married couples and the “second adolescence” experienced in one’s late thirties and early forties. It isn’t a drama that’s specifically about flight crew, but does intend to portray their everyday lives in detail. It also depicts island life on Jeju as well as old-fashioned Korean architecture (han-ok), both noted as popular romantic ideas/fantasies.
That sounds pretty scattered as far as plots go, but reading between the lines, I’m presuming that there’ll be a lot of travel to and from Jeju, with one or more main characters a part of the crew, possibly undergoing some kind of mid-life crisis despite being happily married. (The plot description does state that it’s not a story about dating or adultery, but about couples in honest relationships.) It sounds to me like it’s a warm human drama type story, but we’ll have to await further details.
This will be the first drama series written by screenwriter Lee Sook-yeon of movies One Fine Spring Day and The Sword With No Name; directing is PD Kim Chul-kyu of Hwang Jin-yi and Daemul. On the Way to the Airport will air at the end of August as a KBS Wednesday-Thursday series.

I love Twenty Again too, and I agree, it is a little to soon. Also I though LSY was making Liar Games 2 this fall. I wonder when this drama will start.

That would be a great idea. Imagine the headlines and buzz throughout Korea. They were shipped pretty hard by most of the country and international fans as well. LSJ would have to be the straight man though, unless he surprises me with being rom com type funny. Ji Woo has done two rom coms now, Twenty Again drama and Like for Likes movie, and she is funny and adorable. I was so used to her being glamorous in dramas that it was a great surprise to see how funny she can be.

LSJ didn't end the marriage contract with Uee, and LSY married CJW after 20 years waiting for her, both couples met again in this drama to tell their life after marriage hahaha

Then, LSY meets UEE somewhere and falls in love. They start a flame in their marriage. CJW, feeling betrayed, goes on vacation then meet LSJ, who also on vacation to rethink his marriage because somehow he knows that UEE is having an affair with someone. Through their journey together, they share their story and they can feel each other pain and finally they fall for each other. And, that's the end of the story, they switch partner.

The dating news of Lee Sang Yoon and Uee came out not even a week after "Marriage Contract" ended, right when people were still (ARE STILL, like me) thinking and talking about the drama even after it finished airing. Most of the talking and commenting about the drama was actually about the superb chemistry between Lee Seo Jin and Uee, and both "Marriage Contract" stars had been fielding questions about each other during their post-production interviews and promo rounds about whether or not they were actually dating, whether or not there was a chance for them to date in real life after the drama ended, do they actually or did they actually have feelings for each other during filming, etc., etc. .... Then PLOP, news and confirmations came out that Uee and Lee Sang Yoon came out, and it seems now that Uee has actually stopped doing interviews and promos regarding "Marriage Contract" and has moved on to other jobs (CFs, photoshoots), and seemingly Lee Seo Jin has also moved onto other jobs (his new variety show on Naver, titled "Welcome Show") but he still seems to be asked questions about Uee, and whether or not he knew she was dating, during interviews >.< Many are saying that the dating news came out and that 'Lee Sang Yoon purposefully let it out (then confirmed it again on his own website/fancafe) because he's 'jealous' about all the talk about the chemistry between Uee and Lee Seo Jin as an on-screen couple =((

There are so many rumors that it hard to know what to believe. I personally felt that the reason LSY confirmed on fancafe was to calm down the haters. Ahn jae hyun did it too and thanked his fans for their Blessings and support and then the hating seemed to stop and the fans started to support them. Maybe LSY took a page of ahn jae hyun's book. Lee Seo Jin said that thought that Uee did have a boyfriend but he did not know who, so she must have been giving off those (I have a boyfriend vibe when the cameras including bts cameras were not on).

Uee basically has went underground since the dating news came out, I was hoping for some nice post-drama interviews, pictorials with both her single ones with LSJ but looks like that dream has turned into a weird nightmare with people basically calling everybody whatever they want.

Well, Uee did do one photoshoot (and hopefully accompanying interview) with Ceci Korea Magazine (there's a short video greeting from her, on the set of that photoshoot, floating around on Instagram), but she and Pledis did say she will be taking a considerable break after "Marriage Contract" ends before considering her next project, which may be a movie... I just didn't think her 'break' would come up so abruptly, because I thought she would be like Lee Seo Jin and being doing some "Marriage Contract" post-production press/interviews before taking her break... But the outbreak of her dating news might have contributed to that.... but who's to really say? And who can really judge?? Certainly not us, because we we are certainly not them and not in their shoes... All we can do is give our blessings, as their fans, for everything they do <3

The title of this drama sounds so much like a variety show. I'm not sure about this pairing tbh. I thought they were okay in Twenty Again though really, I didn't like that drama very much despite all the love it got. Even the chemistry felt labored so I'm not excited for this pushing through. plus that synopsis - what in the what is that? So scattered.

I'm a bit sad too when I heard about LSY dating because I"m shipping him with CJW. somehow this news excite me, but reading the description of the drama, looks like this isn't an interesting one. lol. I feel like lee sang yoon won't accept this since he wants a challenging one. but we will see.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if they take the project and if the story line is more clear. When I first read what Twenty Again was about, it did not seem interesting to me but I watched it because I love Ji Woo. It ended up be a really good drama, so hopefully this will be like that too.
