Uhm Tae-woong also in the mix to join SBS thriller Wanted

The maybe-cast is looking pretty great for SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama Wanted, though it’s unclear how many of these actors they’ll manage to sign on for sure. The thriller series just got its June timeslot this week, so the clock’s definitely ticking for the production; Kim Hyun-joo (I Have a Lover) and Jin Gu (Descended From the Sun) are currently considering leading roles, and an offer is out to Uhm Tae-woong (Valid Love) to join them.
The series is about a top film actress whose son is kidnapped, and her harrowing struggle to get him back by completing missions during a live broadcast of a reality show, per the kidnapper’s orders. Kim Hyun-joo is up for the role of the actress, while Jin Gu has been offered the lead detective role. He’s a dogged cop who’ll become singularly obsessed with catching the kidnapper.
Uhm Tae-woong is considering a different role (I know! Not a cop? How is that even possible?) — he’s up to play a television producer at a cable network. The heroine is his first love, and in order to help her get her son back, he’ll create an unprecedented live broadcast for her on his station. Well that makes sense that he’d do it because of a personal connection, though you could argue that a shrewd PD would’ve done it for the ratings anyway.
It’ll be nice to have Uhmforce back on TV, in any case, even if I find it odd that he wouldn’t be cast as the detective on a thriller like this. I’ll probably watch the whole drama wondering when the PD will bust out his gun and go chase after the kidnapper himself. So far chances are good that it’ll be a suspenseful thriller with a strong leading cast. Now we just need everyone to confirm.
Wanted follows Entertainer and premieres June 15.

After a string of questionable casting news, it's refreshing to see that some of casting director still have their head screw in the right way..
I hope everybody confirm soon. The premiere date is getting nearer and the live shooting will be nightmare for thriller drama like this.

the drama series? isn't he supposed to be a talent agency director there who generally harasses the lead couple because of his 'love' for the Chun Hyang? Eeeevil second lead!

Is his acting generally well-received? I saw him in The Devil but didn't enjoy that drama and never found his performance to be noteworthy. But I'm in the minority of people when it comes to not liking the drama anyway.
What else has he been good in? Maybe I should give him another shot.

To me he will always be Kim Yu Shin (in the Great Queen.)
He started out as a nice guy, but got possessive and psycho in Delightful Girl, Chon Hyung.
And I've liked him in other roles, too.

Yup, like Wag_a_Muffin I've seen him in Queen Seondeok and Sassy Girl Choonhyang and I can say that he acts pretty well. Lots of people loved his Yushin character, though I didn't care a huge amount... but I guess that's just personal taste. :)

Rebirth aka Resurrection was his best drama imo. No one would've done better job in that lead role than UhmForce. He was amazing!

I love him in Man from the Equator & I think he doing great in that drama. Also I think he is great in Chaw & Never Ending Stories, both are movies. I think he is better playing serious characters or in thriller/crime genre.

I liked Devil except the ending (then again I don't know how it could have good/happy ending) - Joo Ji-hoon was incredible. I still remember his face expression from his scenes.

For acting, i do think there are no problems. KHJ JG and UTW are all 'veteran' actors/actress, they act well. KHJ last drama 'i have lover' was not rating killer but she acted crazily amazing and she (and all the casts) gain positive review. JG - its not necessary to talk about him since everybody knew. UTW - i do remember him on several drama, and he can act well too.
I am more curious about the story line. Surely? This drama remain me of God's Gift 14 Days. They are similiar, right? Even there is heroin first love too who will help her no matter what. But maybe this drama more real, since the heroine doesnt have experience to travel back 14 Days before her child was kidnapped like Lee Bo Young did on GG 14 Days. Really looking forwards to this drama. Hope they will make a quick respons soon, since 'Wanted' doesnt have a lot of time to prepare the production.

The plot reminds me of God's Gift 14 Days. It's okay.. just give us another awesome thriller series like GG14D!
Somehow, I want Uhm Taewoong as the detective aka male lead. I can see him as another Captain Awesome instead of Jingoo.
