A mysterious future leads to wedding bells in Tomorrow With You

We learn a little more about the high stakes hinted at in tvN’s upcoming drama Tomorrow With You through the recently released highlight teaser. Originally, it was marketed as the love story between a handsome time-traveling investment firm CEO and a cheerful child star who grew up to be a photographer. So I thought it was going to be a sweet fantasy romance in the vein of Oh My Venus with lots of fluff and warm fuzzy feelings. However, the latest extended teaser shows that there’s a thrilling mystery at play which may have life-threatening consequences.

Lee Je-hoon (Signal) plays the CEO who seems almost psychic when it comes to future investments (well, I would be too if I could time travel like him). He is pretty happy-go-lucky about his supernatural power until he sees his own death in the future, and the one other person who dies with him. He seeks her out, thinking that she may be the key to undoing his future tragedy. He even saves her life once, when he catches a glimpse of her getting hit by a truck, and then he discovers that he may have inadvertently saved her life before. In one of his far-fetched ideas, he believes that maybe getting married could be the changing variable to topple the morbid destiny he saw for them in the future.

The bride-to-be, Shin Mina (Oh My Venus), has no clue about her future husband’s abilities. So when a cute younger man approaches her, she’s over the moon. Of course not immediately — in a couple of encounters, we see how their budding chemistry takes them from awkward strangers to adorable lovers. On one date he says, “Noona, you can’t like me, okay?” She answers in sing-song, already smitten, “I won’t like you~”

She asks how he can skip over the handholding and go straight to wanting to live together, and he shocks her by saying he wants to get married. The recently released stills show the newlyweds waking up together and having morning coffee like the picture-perfect couple. But in the teaser we see that once they are married, her over-the-top aegyo makes his toes curl.

But this doesn’t seem to change their fates the way Lee Je-hoon expected, and people keep telling him to give up on Shin Mina in the present before things get worse. Although he doesn’t know why, his friends tell him that one day in the future, he disappeared without a word, leaving his wife to mourn her missing husband. Dum, dum, dum…

Friday-Saturday fantasy drama Tomorrow With You will begin on February 3.

Will Lee Je Hoon do it two years in a row? Star in the best drama of the year?

Concept alone is amazing. But, add to it, that based on these clips, the visuals are stunning? Oh my gah, <3

There is something different about shi Min Ah's looks in this drama. Her cheeks seem smaller and not because she lost weight. Did she get something done? Or is it just me thinking that? Nonetheless I'm looking forward to this!

More like Il Mare (2000)

So i went to Wikipedia and read about
Il Mare and was shocked to find out that a US remake was done. The Lake House. Which is my favorite romantic movie of all time. Wow. I'm going to watch this.

Thanks for the info!

This looks like a movie. I know tvN has put out a lot of pretty shows recently, but in terms of production value, this might be their best one yet.

Goblin is a tough act to follow, no point in denying it, but I wish the media would stop touting this as "Goblin's successor" and just let it be it's own thing. If Signal was able to reach it's level of success following Reply 88, I don't see why this can't do the same.

Isn't that kinda like Oh Hae Young Again, except in this one the man purposely wanting to marry the woman not ignoring her?

Sort of. Just that in OHYA it was Do kyung's subconscious replaying his past experiences, not so much time travelling.

LOL. Despite pulling consistently life-changing performances, Truck of Doom continues to be ignored by the industry and fans. This award is long overdue.

Man.. if I had time-travel ability and I foresaw my death with another person, I would avoid that person at all costs, not marry them haha. Of course, I watched "That's So Raven" as a kid and thought she should pay attention to her outfits in her visions and just never wear those things so that her visions wouldn't come true.... you know, on second thought, it's probably good that I'm not the protagonist in a time-travel drama ^^

It seems a copied scenario from american film the time travellers wife of eric bana.look likes the writer has no originality same as the writer of LOTBS she copied some scenario of splash and sherlock that is why i stopped wacthing after episode 3.

Saying that this is going to be like TTW is like people saying that Missing Nine was going to be like Lost. After only 2, we can tell that it's not. Just because the set up is similar doesn't mean anyone's copying anything. Plot tropes exist for a reason.

TTW and some of the others you mentioned are adaptations of books anyway, so those aren't even "original" anyway...

Oh now it dawns on me that it's airing this week. I always thought Goblin's not ending anytime soon luls. I've yet to watch the last 2 eps.

NOW I'M EXCITEDDD. Ready to be delighted by LJH's acting.

But why did his toes curl by her aegyo, she's so adorable though haha.

And the fact that he can just go up to her and grabbed her hand, asking to be with her, dumbfound me , there's no way a girl that pretty has't a boyfriend yet pfftt.

Does korean writers read this blog??please dont copy scenarios from american films. i am hooked and love korean dramas beacause i learned and know your culture, traditions and customs through these dramas, this is why i love AM88 it does reflect the bygone days in a way similar to our country the philippines those were the days when you can ask a bowl of rice from your neighbor.but i am also a fan of tom hanks that is why i also watched his early films" splash "where his leading lady is darryl hannah a mermaid.

It does sound like The Time Traveler's Wife (which was originally a novel before turned into a movie). But I'm always game for any recycled theme, as long as they add some kind of a new twist.

The trailer looks interesting, and the visual is stunning like Goblin. Plus Lee Je-Hoon and Shin Mina? Count me in!

Some part of the drama remind me of About Time as well, you guys might want to check it out.

Totally unrelated, but I'd love it to watch a korean remake of "Chronicle", it's a great a movie, in fact it's more melo-drama than superhero which is why I feel it's very korean than american lol.

Here is the trailer,

watching the 6 minutes highlight suddenly brings back the memory of 'NINE : Nine Times Travel' while in that drama the hero found a way to the past and literally messed up his present life ( nothing good comes from changing the pat umm well, at lease his brother lives)

while tomorrow with you hero found out he's gonna died in the future and trying to change his fate and we all know that there is always a catch when we play our hand with time travel.

this drama looks promising. can't wait for this.
