Man to Man confirms April premiere on JTBC

At last, we have a confirmed airdate for Park Hae-jin’s new drama Man to Man, which will be JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday series this April after Strong Woman Do Bong-soon ends. JTBC’s other pre-produced drama The Package was initially being considered for the timeslot, but it went to Man to Man instead, which does seem much farther along in production considering all the stills and posters we’ve seen. It’s great news for me, since I’ve been dying to see Park Hae-jin in action as a super-secret ghost agent.

The new comic-melo-spy-action drama stars Park Hae-jin as a mysterious black ops agent who becomes a bodyguard to a Hallyu star, played by Park Sung-woong (Remember–Son’s War). Bromance and action have been promised in abundance, so I’m pretty hyped about the bromantic pairing. Also on the star’s staff is Kim Min-jung (Gap-dong), as Park Sung-woong’s biggest fan who eventually became his manager.

Yeon Jung-hoon (Mask) co-stars as the villain, a chaebol heir with insatiable ambition. Yeon Jung-hoon and Park Hae-jin reunited on set nine years after their epic melodrama East of Eden, where they played two men swapped at birth: That time, Yeon Jung-hoon was the poor, hard-working one and Park Hae-jin was the chaebol rival, and this time, Park Hae-jin will play the hero to Yeon Jung-hoon’s chaebol villain, which is a fun little reversal.

Additional stills show Park Hae-jin in multiple disguises as an agent, so I’m anticipating some pretty cool secret identities every time he’s on a new assignment. We don’t know yet why an elite agent would become a Hallyu star’s bodyguard, but the curiosity is killing me, so their plan seems to have worked.

Man to Man premieres April 21 on JTBC.

Park Hae-jin is so thin, he looks like a cartoon in the first picture.

Nevertheless, I will always love you, PHJ! ???

@lindl

I'm really hoping that the thinness has some relation to the plot because it seems countreproductive to slim down for an action role, a bodygaurd at that, when most actors actually buff up for such roles.

Hope we don't have a Lee Jun Ki(sexy and fine as he was in the show) situation where he starved for Moon Lovers.

Yeon Jung-hoon makes a delicious villain. Let's just hope the character is not as outrageous as the one in Mask. I'm sure I'll like him either way though. ?

Is it just me, or does he look like a very sickly pale?.. is it his makeup artist? Because ever since a little after CITT ended, he always looks ghostly pale. I hope he is taking care of himself..
because other than that, I'm pumped! Can't wait for this!

Well, thank-f*cking God!!!!!(pardon my French)

After that vague ass 'sometime before mid-year' announcement, its nice to finally have a comfirmation.

A part of me wonders if they weren't afraid of competition, like they were waiting to see which shows will be airing along side whatever timeslot they chose. I hope this show is a success and does for JTBC what Bad Guys, Voice and PU38 have done for OCN.

But if Man to Man airs exactly in Strong Woman's time slot there would be no competition to be afraid of. Strong Woman airs at 11 p.m.

I totally forgot Yeon Jung-hoon's gonna be in this, too! I guess it's because I haven't seen any glimpses of him in the promos. Then again, I know they've released a few short vids and I haven't checked all of them out, so maybe he's in 'em somewhere. Anyways, he's so good at being bad, I'm already on the edge of my seat fearing for what's to come.

This comes out a day after my b-day so that's cool. Can't wait to see Park Hae-jin in action! This looks badass and I'm lovin' the guys already. Tbh, I'm not too excited for the actress because I'm not familiar with her, but her character description sounds fun. As for Park Hae-jin's character, I can't wait to see him go undercover. I love it when characters go undercover and use a bunch of disguises. It's so much fun!

PHJ's face looks as it it was photoshopped on someone else's body in the fisrt and the last picture. His head somehow looks too big in those photos. Or maybe it's the hairstyle.

I hope this was a natural thinness that occurred but he looks so good!!!!!!!!!!!! Idk why dramas lately have had him with his hair completely down he looks so handsome with it pushed up! April is way too far away.

The first and last pictures almost look photoshopped to me. The proportions just seem odd, or maybe it's the angles, or poses or combination... IDK, just strikes me as odd.
