Park Hae-jin’s simple pick-up lines in Man to Man teaser

JTBC’s upcoming spy-action drama Man to Man just released another teaser, and I can’t stop gushing about how cute Kim Min-jung (Gap-dong) is in it. Man to Man is centered around an elite special ops agent Park Hae-jin (Cheese in the Trap) who goes undercover as Park Sung-woong’s (Remember—Sons’ War) bodyguard and all the ensuing hijinks that happen in the course of carrying out his covert mission.

Kim Min-jung’s character is the spunky fan manager of Park Sung-woong, who plays the best villain-actor in Hallyu. When a handsome yet strange new bodyguard shows up by Park Sung-woong’s side, Kim Min-jung gets ready to defend her oppa, and it’s hilarious!

In the teaser, Kim Min-jung is asked whether she prefers trending actor Kim Soo-hyun or Yeo Woon-kwang (Park Sung-woong’s character name), and without hesitation, she replies: “Of course it’s Yeo Woon-kwang.” She’s achieved the dream: becoming oppa’s manager after years of dedicated fan labor and rising in the ranks of his entertainment company. And she gets the ultimate privilege of basking in his presence and showering him with compliments on a daily basis. Her passion for him is just on another level as she uses fork-lifts to protect him from scandals.

So naturally her fan instincts are put on high alert when Park Hae-jin suddenly appears and seems to be stalking Park Sung-woong, and she proceeds to do whatever she can to guard her No. 1 bias. She catches him with his long-focus lens camera, she confronts him immediately about why he’s taking photos, only to melt when he takes an unexpected tack: “Because you’re so pretty…”

Her perception of him seems to change because when he considerately puts his coat on her, she wonders how a man could be so perfect. However, solo scenes of Park Hae-jin seem to suggest that Kim Min-jung may be his original target, not Park Sung-woong. But maybe he falls for his target (like what happens in all good spy movies) because when she appears in front of him in a beautiful ball gown, he looks enchanted while his voiceover says: “Because you were there, and in my eyes, there was no one else.”

Friday-Saturday drama Man to Man will begin airing on April 21 after Strong Woman Do Bong-soon finishes its run.

Ohhh wow...
And he's also talented besides being a cutie.
Can we switch him with Lee Sang Yoon in Whisper who plays the character with an eternally dumb expression and slower response than grams internet explorer. Srsly, he looks like he's recovering from a trauma or has a slight mental deficiency. Prosecutors supposed to be smart, no?

Please...I'm dropping Whisper soon if he keeps that expression...I went there expecting LBY in a powerful plot but all I get is pitiful LSY and lots of non-sense!

lol I wasn't the only one who thought so! xD His expression made me mad when I saw it for like the 100th time in two episodes. He's just...gawking at everything that's happening and I'm like dude get a grip! Sheesh xD

But you have to understand that he has just sold his soul to the devil and is trapped. He is conflicted with his morals and ethics. He does not know how to fight, whether it will be the good way or the bad way or if he will totally give himself up and be a person who has no morals and ethics. I think his bad ass side will come when he decides which way to go.

Just imagine any other actor in his place...no one would keep the very same expression in every damn scene...he needs to "pretend" to be smart sometimes...strong...manipulative...
He plays a prosecutor so he is supposed to be smart..
also you said he sold his soul to the devil and he doesn't seem to change sides soon...and is actually tricking LBY for a 2nd time...
how can he still keep the very same face during all of this!!!!!!! Lee Byung Hun was offered that role before...do you think he would have kept the same face...
I love LSY honestly but he is only good in a small frame of characters...this role is beyond him.

He is a judge in Whisper. I dropped this drama already. Seeing so many corrupted villains make the show really dark n negative. The only character I like is the lead gal played by Lee Bo Young. The lead guy looked too stiff n currently he is in the grey zone whereby he isn't a good guy nor a villain.

Hahahaha, your description is so spot on, I'm on the verge of dropping it because of the stupid character, I really really hate stupid characters lol (especially in crime and law type of dramas)

LOL.

When i saw him in 2 eps I was thinking myself, 'Is Seo Do Woo (OTWTTA) change his profession?'
He's still trauma of his bitter-egocentric wife I guess.

Lol! But I have to wonder what's wrong? Perhaps LSY hasn't settled into his character yet because he was so good in Liar Game and he also wasn't much of a talker, was very much a brooding manipulator. So, I'll give him a chance.

I was afraid they wouldn't have chemistry, but this teaser gives me hope. Although, is it wrong to wish for the two men to get together? They also have chemistry :)

YES, OR have the hallyu star and his manager fall for each other! I think that'd be cute, too. Basically, you could do a lot with the main trio... which I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

But guess what?

Per Soompi:

The book, titled “Chief Kim’s Work Book” (tentative title), is set to be published in April and will feature the drama’s best scenes, best lines, and all of the illustrated episode endings. The illustrations will be drawn by webtoon artist Yang Kyung Soo, who partnered with the drama to create the ending scenes for each episode. According to a report, this is the first collaboration between a drama and a webtoon.

Chief Kim is sooooo good even its ending scene is cool.
Glad I could meet Chief Kim cameo in MxM, but still, Chief Kim is really a different thing.

It proves how a show with solid acting and fine script and little PR can do wonder. In the end, acting really matters. Nam Goong Min is such a bae <3

I think now i get it - There is something with his hair style or face that doesn't seem right. In cheese there the same expression which looked far better. Maybe Makeup played a good role there. Initially plot looked good but now its mesh of already used themes.

"Ugly, short hairdo?" Lawl, why is it so hard to have a heroine with a good lookin' 'do!?

Let's hope she doesn't also have a good-for-nothing father that left her with a pile of debt and loan sharks going after her left and right!

Sorry but her hair is UGLY AF OMFG. that hairstyle seems to be all the rage for female leads nowadays (bokjoo, dong bong soon, yoon so rim) but hers is the ugliest as of yet.

& Looks like PHJ lost a bit of weight? He's still fine af but please do not work so hard and remember to eat :(

I think her plain hairstyle is intentional. She is supposed to be an ordinary woman/fangirl, without abundance of money to visit upscale hair salon on frequent basis to get those lustrous and fashionable hairstyle. You know, like the real of in real world.

Having said that, PHJ's character either earns a lot by working as bodyguard or his hair grows fashionable by default.

Haha, she totally reminds me of the actress that was also in You From Another Star with Park Hae-jin--the one that played Jun Ji-hyun's bff that ran the comic book store (she was also her bff in Legend of the Blue Seas, haha. LOVE her!). Anyways, *googles* her name's Hong Jin-kyung and she's been sportin' that same hairstyle for awhile now. This actress even looks a little like her, too!

Park Hae-jin has definitely lost A LOT of weight! He's super boney now and probably a lot more buff. I remember being obsessed with him after Cheese and he'd talk about having to work out again (he stopped for awhile since he was filming Cheese) and prepare for his bodyguard role. I'm sure I'll fall for him all over again once this show starts.

Her hair is a metaphor for her growth. It starts with a simple helmet haircut. The helmet symbolises her entry into a war zone...she's ready to take on the world to fight for her oppa. That's her single-minded mission.

As she falls in love with PHJ (as she will, without a whisker of a doubt), her hair will undergo a metamorphosis of sorts: it will develop waves by the end of the third episode, and curls by the end of the fifth episode.

When the drama concludes, her hair would have grown into a lustrous garden of luscious waves, complete with flowers and chirping birds.

Man, I'm lovin' Park Sung-woong already! It's amusing how he seems to love all the attention his #1 fan/manager gives him. I still can't get over the fact that she went from being his fan to being his manager. Omg, talk about every fangirl/fanboy's dreams! Is it too much to ask for a Kim Soo-hyun cameo during the scene where she chooses Park Sung-woong's character over Kim Soo-hyun? Hee. I miss him!

Anyways, this drama's looking better and better as more teasers come out and I'm glad there's hint of comedy in it, too.

Park Hae jin is so charismatic; he walks into a scene and the air crackles with electricity. What is it about him: the cold, hooded, expressionless eyes? That lean, lithe, tall physique? That aloof, enigmatic air about him? Then when, he smiles, his whole face softens, and he becomes this utterly charming, charming man who takes your breath away. And don't even get me started on his hugs...
