Park Hae-jin to take on four roles in new mystery romance drama

Any year with three Park Hae-jin projects is a good year in my book, so I’m happy to hear that after his current drama Man to Man and his upcoming movie adaptation of Cheese in the Trap, he’s lined up a swift return to dramaland. He’s planning to headline a new drama called Four Men (or taken more literally, Four Children, based on the hanja), in which he’ll play four different characters.
The new series will be a 16-episode mystery romance drama, about a police detective heroine who loses the man she loves and then meets a pair of twins by coincidence. All we’re told for now is that Park Hae-jin will play four characters, so we’ll have to wait for more information to know if the twins have twin doppelgangers, or are actually quadruplets, or if there’s something more mysterious going on.
Park Hae-jin is a perfect fit for the four-in-one role, as he’s demonstrated with complex characters like Cheese in the Trap’s Yoo Jung sunbae, or Bad Guys’ genius psychopath, or Man to Man’s chameleon ghost agent who can become anyone at the drop of a hat. I loved watching him take on various cover identities at the beginning of Man to Man, so I can only imagine how good he’ll be at playing different characters who share a face. But… if it’s a mystery romance, will one be evil and another be a love interest? Great, I’m already creeped out. Thanks, Show.
Four Men will be produced by Mountain Movement Story, the production house behind Man to Man. It does not yet have a broadcaster, but it plans to start shooting this year, and will hopefully air later this year as well.

The Oppa Quadruplets and A Brief Introduction to Their Very Different Characters:
Oppa 1: The firstborn. Evil and conniving. He's bad.
Oppa 2:The secondborn. He's charming and nice, and a bit wicked, but not evil-wicked; he's like my Agent Oppa, Kim Guard. Oh, and he's the hero.
Oppa 3: The third born. He's Nerd Oppa, bland and boring. He gets killed off half-way because Evil Oppa can't stand his boring ways.
Oppa 4: The youngest of the quadruplets. Nicknamed Sexy Oppa. He spends all his time showering and taking off his clothes. He's Nice Oppa's main rival for the heroine's affections.

There will never be such a thing as too much Park Hae-jin. I find his drama choices really interesting even if they don't always turn out well.
He's developing quite a reputation for being a bit of a chameleon... and playing dubious characters.

I didn't think about him possibly gracing us in every scene, but that makes sense. Hahaha, this is like one of those comedy skits where one person has to constantly change their outfits and disguises after every scene because they're playing multiple roles and they'd change their outfits while running around on set, eventually forgetting to take off their mustache in one instance... y'know what I mean? Lawl. Anyways, now you get more chances to look at oppa and get your sisters into him, too. They're bound to fall for ONE of him! ;)

Well, he did mention that during Cheese days, he didn't work out much or stopped working out completely, so after Cheese, he was back to that and he had to lose weight and bulk up for his bodyguard role in Man x Man. I think now that he's finished Man x Man, he's not on strict diets or workout routines anymore? As long as he's healthy, although I did love how he looked in Cheese and even Bad Guys. He's definitely much bonier in Man x Man.

I’ve seen Park Hae Jin in a lot of roles and thought he was a fine actor, but he didn’t leave a big impression on me until Man to Man. I liked seeing him take on different personas. From cool and slick to dorky and awkward. :)
Excited to see him in this new, mysterious drama. A bit wary about the part where the heroine lost the love of her life though.

I can DEFINITELY see him playing four characters and am actually super excited at the sound of this! I can't wait to find out more details about each of the four characters. So it doesn't sound like his character has four different personalities, but rather, he's actually gonna portray four different people as himself, right? That's different... kinda. Well, it's a lot. He's definitely got the whole ~mysterious guy~ vibe down pat, so this seems like familiar territory for him. Anyways, I'm excited and surprised he's announced a new drama already! Now I wait for more casting news and more deets on his characters. Ha.
