Subway misunderstandings and drunken frustrations in Suspicious Partner

Official countdown is five days until SBS’s legal rom-com drama Suspicious Partner premieres! So in a last-minute blitz of promos, here are two more teasers and a couple stills to tide us over until next Wednesday when it finally airs. They feature Ji Chang-wook (The K2) and Nam Ji-hyun (Shopping King Louis) having their first meet-cute misunderstandings which lead to love down the line.
For this drama, Ji Chang-wook plays a grouchy but brilliant prosecutor who becomes saddled with a new employee, played by Nam Ji-hyun, who seems totally clueless. She used to be a professional-level martial artist, but decided to pursue the law because of her love for justice. Always bright and optimistic, it’s no wonder that in the beginning, she clashes so often with Ji Chang-wook, who is the opposite. As they work together on a mysterious homicide case, they grow closer and fall in love.
In this teaser, Nam Ji-hyun starts her first day of work, reporting to her superior, only to realize that it’s the man she mistook for a subway pervert that very morning. She’s mortified, and we cut to another scene where he grabs her face in a frustrated moment and shakes her while saying: “Is life a joke to you, you idiot?” But perhaps he’s coming to like her, because the next scene seems to be a roundabout confession: He says that he’s losing the little sleep he has because of her, and that he only came to meet her because he wanted to preserve his dignity. Getting the gist, she asks, “Are you worrying for me?” And in typical K-drama hero fashion, he denies it, while just telling her not to appear as a victim in front of him.
Later, it’s shown that Ji Chang-wook is just not having a good day—he nearly tears out his hair in frustration at Nam Ji-hyun while his colleague nods sympathetically, and he’s slapped by someone at the office. Then we see glimpses of the secondary leads Choi Tae-joon (Missing 9) and Hello Venus’ Nara. But in the end, we’re back to our main couple, with Nam Ji-hyun staring trustingly at Ji Chang-wook while saying: “I believe in you, prosecutor-nim… You’re my lifeline.”
The second teaser shows Nam Ji-hyun when she’s at her lowest. It seems like her boyfriend cheated on her because in her inner monologue, she says: “I knew you had met someone, but I pretended not to notice.” Then in a fit of anger, she resolves to sleep with the first man she bumps into, and of course, she passes by Ji Chang-wook. She asks him straight up whether he would like to sleep with her, expecting a refusal—but to her great surprise, he accepts and she immediately begins to backpedal.
They go out for drinks, and Ji Chang-wook seems sure that he’s seen her before. She imbibes a little too much, and exhibits the type of drunken behaviors you may have thought were cute during a tipsy daze but are completely regret-inducing the next morning.
Later, he finds her with her hair all messed up and a tissue stuffing her bloody nose, and says, “You’re really dirty but you’re pretty.” At first she wonders, “Have you really fallen for me?” then sees his expression and realizes, “Nope. Okay, I see you have not.” He encounters her in jail, and in the voiceover, Ji Chang-wook says the same line that he said in the first teaser: “I told you before: Don’t appear as a victim. You’re my life’s exasperation.”
Newly released stills show scenes of Nam Ji-hyun with 2PM’s Chansung (Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-ki), who is supposed to be her ex, and a couple other images of her drinking session with Ji Chang-wook. My expectations for Suspicious Partner weren’t too high when the first plot synopsis was released, but after all these cute teasers and promo pics, I must admit that they’ve skyrocketed.
Wednesday-Thursday Suspicious Partner will air its first episode on May 10, following the end of Saimdang, Light’s Diary’s run.

I must be subconsciously programmed by all the dramas and most DB comments that I automatically thought "Subway" meant the sandwich chain. PPL works!!

Seeing that I am not alone, I already feel so much better! Nowadays, whenever I pass by such a sandwich shop I think about Chicago Typewriter and The K2. Considering that JCW is the lead in The K2 and Suspicious Partner, the confusion was almost meant to be.

I can't wait that long for Suspicious Partner to finally air (only 5 days) I am very excited for this new pairing as I loved both of them in their respective shows (Shopping King Louie and Healer). The teaser and the pics just look so adorable. How do you expect me to wait

That "someone" who dare assaults the baby face of My Precious with a slap is named Jang Mu Yeong (played by Kim Hong Pa), who is Ji Wook's supervisor at the Prosecutor's Office. Mark my words, he will PAY DEARLY for that slap! ???

ohk. so this really looks fun. i haven't seen our jichang wook in a romantic drama that doesn't involve kicking butt. i only ever watched healer and the K2 and fell in love with him. i want to see how he does in this plot. i cant wait

I am so exited for this. I need my fluffy rom-com fix after Strong Woman ended. I watched the first two episodes of My Secret Romance, but didn't continue watching it yet. Not sure if I will. So I really, really need this.

I have been watching MSR - the squeals continue, but it's been steadily going downhill. You will enjoy it mostly if you are 13 or feeling nostalgic about that time you were 13 and wanted to be in one of those pulp romances.
So yes, bring on the new crop of rom-coms, I say!

I only watched the first two episodes of MSR too, never seen both of the lead actors so I thought the show might surprise me since it comes from OCN, my fave channel ever, and... sadly it was too cliche and boring :(

How I wish this show turns out to be a total rom com, but it is a procedural kind of a show with a criminal on the loose. I just hope now that they have more rom com than that. Too much of thrillers these days. Plus these two look so good together. Is JCW aging backwards?

How is it that JCW looks even more handsome here than K2. N NJH blossomed into a fine young lady. The teaser promises all sorts of fun. I hope the thriller pArt doesnt overshadow the rom com bits.

Well, he has an actual, talented actress to riff off of - between Yoona and the writing K2 was DOA. But of course this show has to have its idols as well, also bound to be horrible - one look at Chansung's bug-eyed stare in the pic above gave me the shivers. I can only hope his part is small.

The waiting game feels like forever. ? I honestly did not even bother to watch K2 after the 2nd episode because of too much action and I didn't really like the pairing but this one I have a feeling I would really really love since NJH is one of the most adorable actresses along with Park Bo Young
