Yeo Jin-gu dies and comes back to life in Reunited World’s first teaser

The sunlit first teaser for SBS’s fantasy romance drama Reunited Worlds has been revealed. It shows the happy high school days of two childhood friends, played by Yeo Jin-gu (Circle) and IOI’s Jung Chae-yeon (Drinking Solo), until a day he dies in a car accident. Reunited Worlds is a love story set twelve years later when the girl is a 31-year-old woman and the 19-year-old boy miraculously comes back to life.

The teaser begins with the two students riding a bicycle together, looking carefree and happy. They have an easy, comfortable friendship, until Yeo Jin-gu’s voiceover cuts in: “That summer, I died. I thought it was a short sleep, but twelve years had passed.”

He’s hit by a car, and then as a funeral procession is shown, Jung Chae-yeon wails, “Come back alive and tell me it’s not true!” Then her young self transitions to her adult self, played by Lee Yeon-hee (Hwajeong), and the copy reads: “As bright as the sun, this summer’s miracle.” Yeo Jin-gu wakes from what seems to be a short nap on a sunny rooftop and says, “It was a miracle. That summer’s mysterious story, Reunited Worlds.”

More stills have also been released showing Jung Chae-yeon in her school uniform and the third party in the main love story, Ahn Jae-hyun (Cinderella and the Four Knights), who plays a chef-restaurateur. He’s boss to the 31-year-old Lee Yeon-hee, the most bottom-rung worker in his kitchen, and falls in love with her. He is described as a cool, suave, and kind character, and confesses straightaway when he realizes he’s lost his heart to his kitchen assistant. It looks like this drama is shaping up to be something both heartbreaking and magical.

Wednesday-Thursday drama Reunited Worlds begins this July 19, following the end of Suspicious Partner.

I was looking forward to seeing it for Yeo Jin Gu, but after beginning to watch New journey to the west I'm glad Ahn Jae Hyun is also in this drama :) , I don't remember him clearly from My love from another star and I haven't watched his other dramas.

He was good in Cinderella, I mean if you only want to watch him it won't hurt to check its first few eps. I managed to get to around episode 8. Or maybe try You're All Surrounded.

Cinderella and the four knights are good feel drama. It was a cute rom com drama... I like all the four knights. Jung Il Woo really fits the Rom Com Genre. Ahn Jae Hyun is cute in that drama too. I didn't watch it at first too because of some negative comments I saw eventhough I like Jung Il woo i didn't try too. But when I don't have dramas to watch and it's already finish airing in Korea I tried to watch and I kinda love and enjoy it. Even the OST are good. It will give you a little bit of the heirs style but different. Give it a try you'll surely like it

Eagle-eyed viewers will notice how much 31 year old Ahn Jae Hyun looks like 19 year old Yeo Jin Gu. Or is it more red herring?

You scared the living daylights out of me! I read "Yeo Jin-gu dies" and nearly had a heart attack, imagining the next words to be something like "in accident on set". (It's amazing how fast the mind tries to fill in the missing blanks.) Needless to say, I'm beyond relieved to know that he's alive and well, and about to grace our screens again soon.

He's getting hit by a car? Again? It feels so similar with Circle :D (Yes, I'm still not over for Cirlce yet)
Anyway, I cant wait to see this. I found so many "time-traveler" dramas this year. Why is it so popular lately?

LOL that was actually the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the "getting hit by a car" scene? And the way he was flung, it was soo Circle :D :D

It was almost exactly the same! Made me laugh when I'm not supposed to. I wonder what YJG was thinking, he must have filmed those two scenes one right after the other.

I laughed too and then felt a bit bad since you just know that's not what they were going for lol. The coincidence is too much though! Right down to the slo-mo fling!

I think playing two characters in a row who die in a car accident and then in some capacity come back to life puts a whole new spin on the term "type casting", but it's Yeo Jin-gu so I don't care

Lol. He usually does different roles. This is the first time where I'm like "soooo are you basically playing the same character?" But I'll bet they'll make his personality different, and it seems like this is more like time travel or magic. Sort of like 13 going on 30...but only for the girl, and then he just wakes up.

Why did I suddenly get "Your Name" vibes, even though I know the story is completely different? I will watch it mainly for YJG.

The car accident made me laugh more than it should have. It had such a huge Circle feel to it!
I'm so happy to see Yeo Jin Goo back on our screens so soon already and in a happier and lighter role. (Even though I love it when he cries...he is such a great cry-er!)

This sounds really interesting. I love Yeo Jin Gu and I liked Lee Yeon Hee in Miss Korea. I wonder how they'll reconcile the age differences or what they'll do there. Hopefully its not weird and creepy. I could see it being both heartwarming and heartbreaking...

For those who don't know the anime, it's about a group of 6 y/o friends who are driven apart by the death of one the friends in the group. Her soul comes back years later to find her friends all in high school, living separately lives and is set to reunite them.

Awww he's gonna wake up a ghost w/o knowing he died? Oh god I prolly can't take that. Like In Circle, he woke up w/o knowing he was only a clone. I hope no matter what YJG gets a happy ending here

I nearly always think about something like that when new drama comes out (Best Hit, any drama where there is dying lead and first love). I think, that's the one, main lead is going to play Cupid and help girl end up with the other guy, this drama would be different, I know it.
Well, no, dramaland rules are unbreakable, main leads end up together against all odds

Maybe it's like an angel thing? Or roof's are higher to the heavens? Or maybe that's his happy spot where he used to hang out like how ghost haunt sentimental places?
I dunno but I thought it was super strange too.

I'm so looking forward this one. It sounds heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. I'm glad it is set in the countryside (or a least the teenage part), it gives a contemplative feeling.

(...even if I know they will end up in Seoul eventually, like in 100% of the Korean dramas)

It better not be like the movie Ghost or anything similar where he comes back just to make things right and heal hearts only to leave again cause I will be ticked off if it is. YJG has had enough suffering and heartache already (Circle), now I want him to have a happy ending, in the traditional sense, as in he gets the the girl (and besides, he only looks 19 but is technically 31 ?). I want lots of laughter, too. Please?! ??

Seeing how he actually died in this teaser with a funeral and everything, I have a feeling this won't have a happy ending at all. ? It will probably be something bittersweet.

But lol there will probably tons of unintentional meta references to Circle on the first ep at least.. hehehe

Finally got something to anticipate after Fight My Way! This is definitely the sequel of Circle (Circle 2.0) hahaha; young, hit by car, died, come back after years, and that drama title. xD

Really curious what makes him come back alive without aging. Can't hardly wait!!!!!!

I hope the drama doesn't make a weird romance between the 31 year old woman with the 19 year old boy haha. Regardless of the fact that if he were alive, he would have been 31 -- time essentially stopped for him, so he IS 19 still, through flesh and soul.

Sigh but he's a great actor and this looks super beautiful so I'm there.

Wow, looking forward to this! It sounds like a light-but-kind-of-heavy drama.. I'm thinking something along the lines of Oh My Ghostess. (That drama was great.) Happy to see Yeo Jin Gu on-screen again, as he's a great actor and I'm really enjoying his performance in Circle right now. He definitely has a bright future ahead of him and I'm excited to see him mature into a top actor in the future!

He is in another world. Poor guy he slept in circle and woke up to find twenty yesrs had passed and now he shall wake up to find that twelve years have passed in reunited worlds!! Talk about travelling worlds through sleep...

Please tell me YHG's 19 year old back from the dead self is back to unite AJH and LYH's for some reason, like say allowing him to enter heaven a la tvN Ghostess.

Teenagers (in high school uniforms adding to it) with grown adults (men or women) is my drama anticatnip. I cannot with huge age gaps and avoid such dramas like a plague (especially when it involves k-12 age group. Once you hit college -so long as it's not teacher student- enjoy). I know it's fictional but the true life many times horrific realities of such situations (teenagers no matter how "adult" or grown, there is such a power imbalance and how we are raised to see adults as all knowing must obey authority figures simply because of age, leads to such easy manipulations) makes me unable to watch such dramas. It's also an occupational hazard of being a k-12 school psychologist.

Please be her friend/guardian ghost/time traveling back to life solve a mystery and lead towards love and not love interest YJG or this drama will have to be a no for me dog.
