Catch a falling comet for some luck in JTBC’s Woohoo Waikiki 2

If anyone was worried that this season would tone down the manic, slapstick gags, I don’t think you have anything to fear. JTBC’s youth comedy Woohoo Waikiki 2 has released another trailer featuring the three co-owners of the titular guesthouse, Kim Sun-ho (100 Days My Prince), Lee Yi-kyung (Red Moon, Blue Sun), and Shin Hyun-soo (Twelve Nights). And while I’m disappointed that we don’t get to see any of our main leading ladies yet (what’s the holdup JTBC??), I’m really looking forward to watching these three idiots hopefully bumble their way to financial security and save their guesthouse.

The trailer starts off with the trio in dire straits, with their landlady kicking them out for their failure to pay the rent for several months. While Lee Yi-kyung believes that something to save their guesthouse will fall into their laps, a comet literally smashes into the middle of their building, tearing a hole in the middle of their common living area. Lee Yi-kyung and Shin Hyun-soo, who I hereby dub as dumb and dumber, are overjoyed at the prospect of selling this space rock, hoping to use whatever profit to retain their guesthouse. As for Kim Sun-ho, ever the worrywart, he’s more concerned about the very noticeable, and quite hazardous, hole that they have in the middle of their living space.

I’m expecting most of dumb and dumber’s antics to end up in comedic mishap, and I’m sure their plan to sell their lucky comet results in hilarious failure. In the meantime, they still have a tight deadline to prevent their guesthouse from being sold, and so their Plan B is to… pimp out Kim Sun-ho to their landlady? Ew. There’s a montage of rather icky moments of him and the landlady out on “dates,” like on a merry-go-round together or eating a romantic dinner, with heart-shaped lights to boot. The trailer ends with Kim Sun-ho whirling the landlady to prevent her from witnessing something, and dramatically (and a bit desperately) confessing, “I love you!”

JTBC’s Woohoo Waikiki 2 will premiere next week on March 25, and will take over the Monday-Tuesday slot from currently airing The Light in Your Eyes.

I bet he's hiding the hole from her. And yay for continuity! It's the same landlady from season 1. The one who orchestrated that grand wedding. Still a sucker for romance, I see. :D

She cracked me up, I'm so happy to see her back! The first season had no problem getting some incredible cameos, and I'm looking forward to seeing who cameos this time around, since the first season was such a hit.

Comet smashing thru roof?
Expecting hilarious failure trying to sell said comet?

Is it really a comet?

I recall new a report years ago about frozen -- let's call it "bathroom byproduct" -- falling from a high-altitude jet liner...

I still get this earworm! And I will pitch a toddler tantrum if it's not the theme song again.

I honestly believe that the only thing that could have made Waikiki even *better* (because I mean, the first season was PERFECTION) is Kim Sun-ho. Dare I say that this season might turn out even better than the first? High hopes, but I'm feeling pretty confident. I AM SO READY FOR THIS!!!

I agree! I believe the cast in the second season is better than the ones who were in the first. I think this line up is more promising!

Since seeing him in Chief Kim and Strongest Delivery man, Kim Sun Ho definitely has the comedic chops. I could also pciture Moon Ga Young and Kim Ye Won doing great jobs in this also. I think Shin Hyun-Soo and Ahn So-Hee are toss-ups but the other cast has some strong comedic chops.

Season one was hilarious but the comedy was mostly of the cringey variety. My cringes had cringes of their own. I like the cast change and I am looking forward to another hilarious and probably cringey season.
