Coming on here super quickly just to say that I MISS MY FREE TIME AND I MISS DB :( This week, I've only had time to watch When the Camellia Blooms during my daily commutes, because I've been so swamped with exam prep. This morning I had a 6-hour International Law exam that wasn't too bad—I knew mostly how to answer the questions, but my time management isn't great so I struggled to finish in time. After that, I came straight home, ate my first meal of the day and promptly knocked out for about 4 hours. I wish I could say I'm done with exams, but I've still got two papers to go and it's back to work for me already.

I reeeeeally want to catch up on Nokdu and Extraordinary You, but that is sadly out of the question for me at the moment :( Why did I think going to law school was a good idea again? LOL.

I hope you guys have had a better week than I have ♡

Hi Everyone and Happy OT!
I've been more busy lately and ended up watching mostly YT videos of my current craze ... anything The Untamed.

It's a great rationalization that a few short vids will be better than a 1-hour drama, but I know I'm just deceiving myself. LOL.

I did however bother to catch the spinoff movie, The Living Dead. Just because I had liked the characters so much in The Untamed drama, I spent much more time on this movie, (determined to not hate it), than it actually warrants. But whatever, at least I enjoyed myself, 'wasting' time!

Review of the Movie spinoff of The Untamed: The Living Dead. Synopsis in a nutshell… Wen Ning and Si Zhui investigate the incidence of murderous ghosts and a massacre of a household and save a little town from living in darkness.

The movie jumps right into the plot of ghosts with the leads from The Untamed without any explanation. At my first watch, I found that the movie left me cold, but I decided that I wanted to give it another chance, so I re-watched. I slowed down some parts to get a better idea about what was going on and to see if enough had been explained to eradicate some plot holes.

Well, the good news is that I felt better about the movie after a painstaking re-watch. Would I recommend it? To those who have not watched The Untamed, I'd say yes only to those who don't mind a quick 'ghost-hunting' flick to while away 1 hour 24 minutes and who won't be bothered to wonder "Who? What?". To lovers of The Untamed who really want to see Wen Ning and Sizhui again, yes, by all means.

However … our beloved characters have undergone something of a change in their interactions, which was the reason I was left cold before. It took a while to come to terms with that and to just concentrate on what was happening.

Being a spinoff there are many nods to The Untamed, but mainly a recurring reference to 'Master Wei' (Wei Wu Xian, the hero of The Untamed. However I felt that the missing BIG nod that should have been, was to the sweetness of the uncle - nephew relationship between the 2 leads that had its start in the drama. I know that I wanted to watch this movie in order to see how the 2 of them had developed in friendship and camaraderie. Let's just say that the first 5 minutes of the show that had a brother and sister trying to weather another night of ghosts, was the warmest depiction of character relationship in the movie, and moments like those should have been given to Wen Ning and Si Zhui.

Some SPOILERS
What the movie gave viewers instead of warm camaderie between the leads, was a suddenly confident (and yet not quite) Wen Ning with the deductive powers to rival WWX, but exercised rather coldly.

Perhaps it was an excuse to have a at least a cameo of WWX only from behind, but the sudden interjection of WN's lack of self worth felt out of place and so did WWX's deus ex machina 'appearance' with a different and therefore wrong sounding voice actor. Show would have done better to just have had reminiscences of WWX without his making an appearance or any voice over.

My main beef with the movie is that Yu Bin, who can emote well enough, was probably directed to be a stiff, unemotional 'undead', which spoilt all the great interactions he could have had with Si Zhui. Even Si Zhui who had so much personality in the drama, comes out looking as if he was just on a job with a sunbae without close ties.

Other stuff/good stuff: The movie adapted from the ghost puppets of the drama and added its own spin with a specific way that they could be 'killed' which was not bad. The weapon of Si Zhui is appropriate since he was closely associated with Hanguang Jun and it's good to see that he has grown in its use. Instead of 'Inquiry' or 'Empathy', movie has a new way of entering the 'minds' of the dead/undead. Wen Ning's weapon is unexpected and evokes memories of Zidian (Purple Lightning), but I'd have liked to have seen him with a sword or just kicking ass again.

In short, movie is and has the mark of a quick production to cash in on the popularity of The Untamed, so watch it if you really want to see Wen Ning and Si Zhui again, or because you like a ghost investigation and some ghost killing action.

https://lanzhanlanzhan.tumblr.com/post/188907198323/reading-this-was-a-ride-lol-thank-you-for-the

I'd rather rewatch all the BTS, watch YB's funny vids than waste a minute on the Living Dead. They were just milking whatever they could from the drama. The two actors Yu Bin and Zheng Fanxing deserved better.

That's how I started out feeling, especially when on top of the non-existent warm vibes between the leads, some of what little plot there was didn't hold up. On re-watch, it wasn't as bad as I had feared. 🤣 Still the wasted time was kinda 'fun'. I was waiting around on work 'standby' anyway, so it was better than just working!

However, it's back to more YT vids, BTS and OSTs ... heh! 😊 😉 😌

Oh yes, it can be background watching. Like, I'd still notice the girl burning because they had to replay it 3 times. In the end, I'm sure the audience suffered more than she did.

3

@outofthisworld LOL.
I was not bothered about the adult dying, but I was peeved that the 2 sweet kids had to die and that there was no resurrection for them.

Couldn't figure out how lighting a fire outside was supposed to save them though. It just made matters worse. Brother should have just stayed indoors in the dark with little sis.

2

Kids? Eh....I must have taken too long a toilet break.

2

I'm guessing this web movie was produced with drawing more male audience in mind. Like the donghua/anime.

That's an interesting idea. Even so, would that be a reason to make Wen Ning so much more 'dead of expression' than he was?

If the time taken in relationship building had been given over to more action, it might have served the male audience more, however there were long moments of non action as well. I hope some audiences did thoroughly enjoy the movie!

Could be a budget issue. Fight choreography training and stunt people cost time and money.

I saw a side-by-side animated gifs comparing WWX-JZX fight in Cloud Recess to two gray-haired granny-like ladies tussling in the street. Basically they all fought like girls without the face scratching and hair pulling.

Recent web dramas adapted from male-oriented, or at least gender-neutral, wuxia/xianxia web novels mostly failed. Like the producers haven't figured out the right formula.

My take is less generous, I thought that movie was rather rushed cash grab and they didn't even tried with original characters or actors, I don't regret watching it because I like actors and characters but it was disappointment.

@shach That's the pity of it. It could have taken a little bit of trouble to get the most important part right, and earned our 'love', but it chose to go the all-out-for-money route and left a sour taste in our mouths.

With all the development in the characters that the drama had already laid down, it's a shame the movie didn't choose to go with the flow, and just showcase some great bromance moments, but instead wasted the nicely, realised characters. Still fans of the drama are going to watch the movie, so the lack of integrity will unfortunately be 'rewarded'.

It felt like they grab some random script that was lying around, changed the names of main characters and roll with it.

That's a pretty apt description LOL, however they did add in the zombie bits to bring it a little more in line with the source, and the fighting was quite artistic in parts.

Same with me, the untamed is my favourite watch list this month along with catch the ghost and if talking paid (jdrama)

At first I didn't want to watch it because the BL label. But the untamed raves in fa wall tempted me. I think I also saw your comment that you start watching this even though your on 'straight' person side, that's adds more courage to me and I'm happy I decided to watch this drama...

I can feel the main leads (WWX and LZ) affection and protectiveness with each other, but it's subtle and not crossing the line for me.

I also like the story with their respective family, except jin clan. Especially love WWX interactions with his xie jie (JYL).

Firstly I watch till ep 2 and then skip to ep with the current timeline. Because I didn't want to feel heart break watching the flashback time (I know what happened from reading quick recap). And several days ago I decided to watch from the start again because I want to see them more. Still, I can't play ep 29 and above (my real life already in angsty mode, so I don't want to watch anything angsty rn). Watching their flashback time make me love this drama and the characters more :) my favourite character here aside from the two leads are wen ning and xiao xing Chen.

So just like you, I fill my craving for anything about the untamed with watching the BTS. My fav BTS is when they shooting scene in burial mounds after the disciplines being captive by ghost mask, WYB cheekily join the crowd shout and put his sword in XZ and then his teasing laugh when XZ praise him about his popularity in untamed.

Anyway I'm looking forward for XZ and WYB next project. I already try watch WYB other drama gank your heart (up to ep 2) but I think I like him more as Lan Wang ji

It is difficult to like our 2 leads in anything else, as much as we like them in The Untamed, I feel. There was just something in their chemistry together, in the way their arc tugged on the heartstrings, and the very satisfying resolution that tied up most loose ends, that keeps bringing us back to review and relive those feels. Their evident affection also played a major part. From being alone and lonely, I think all of us were rooting for them to be together and to not be alone anymore.

There are many better made shows, but none lately that have hit the feels this much.

This is sad. I was still planning to watch it but I don't know if I will now. One thing I loved about Wen Ning is how sweet, cute and innocent he is. I also loved his caring attitude with Lan Sizhui and their sweet nephew/uncle relationship. It's disappointing that they scrubbed out the best parts of these characters to quickly get a script done and a movie produced. If they were going to make a movie about these characters they could have atleast tried to keep true to their characters 😑

So I think for now I'll pass on watching this. Thanks for the detailed review!

Happy weekend Beanies!

@michykdrama less social media, more reading ;)

Whenever an employment contract ends I quickly go from one hundred to zero and I struggle to retain and regain discipline. For this reason I reflected this week on what I could do better and what I am doing very well already.

What I could do better:
1. I want to put in more efforts to actively look for a job.
2. I want to go to bed earlier and get up at a decent time, not lie awake all night and ‘catch up on sleep’ until noon.
3. I want to keep up my self-care routine. Much easier done when you have a job where you need to look presentable, but it is necessary for health and confidence. Also unexpected trips and visitors would no longer be a nightmare.
4. I want to step out for fresh air more often. The cold weather and grey skies offer no encouragement, and neither does my empty schedule or 3 (see above).

What I am doing well:
1. Writing for Nanowrimo every day. A few sentences a day is enough to update the word count and increase the word target a tiny bit.
2. Reading every week. I had to cut back in time, but I managed to get back to an abandoned book, so it is Jane Austen and John Green for now.
3. Keeping up with K-dramas. I am catching up on No Second Chances and Pegasus Market while I wait for Extraordinary Thursday and Friday.

I expect improvement once December starts, when both Extraordinary You and Nanowrimo are no longer priorities. And to think that not only two years ago I would have dropped all the fun stuff to focus more on studying and job hunting *shudder* :P

I’m so emotionally drained after watching the show and then trying to express how I feel about it. But I knew if I didn’t then the moment would pass and I wanted to tell as many people as I could how much it made me feel. Wrote it on my blog, link is below. I hope you get to watch it.

Ji young’s Dream was to be a writer and despite taking a while to get there, the movie ends with her having published an article in a magazine and starting on writing her life story. May you also find the inspiration to write like she did!

It depends on the person, but you listed the famous 3 I think. ;) It is a hobby for me, and maybe a bit of an unfulfilled dream too. Few people can become succesful authors, but through nanowrimo and similar projects, you can challenge your inner author. The goal is actually to write a first draft of your novel, so the next edition you can write a draft for another novel, or continue with editing, or just improvise like I am doing :) Many authors started writing through nanowrimo, so who knows?

I understand you totally. Only yesterday I signed up a contract for a part time... It is what I found, but it is important to force myself to keep up certain routine and also keep on looking for a better job while earning some money to pay off my debts.
But yeah, whenever I have a free day I am lazy. I don't go late to bed, but I don't go out of the house for fresh air.
And I only go to the gym the days I have to go with my gym parnert, because we both push one another. Without her, maybe I wouldn't be able to make it.
Right now I am not watching too many dramas nor I want to... But I also try to read more. And keep I the Job hunting... It is an excruciating torture, but I need to find something I really like which pays good as well.
Wish me success

@jamieopso I wasn't actively talking about gardening last week. I'm fine with every interpretation of that comment. I agree and disagree regarding the few matters of gardening.

@tsutsuloo that was my mistake. But i didn't see your comment as clarification or have context. More so i felt your comment created wrong assumption about the show. My usual stance is no response but it was coming from your side so i had to take it seriously. Whether someone agree/disgree with me is their concern and their freedom.

As for funny take - As i always say behind every joke lies some serious thought. Modern day comedy is all about making fun of others, insulting others, looking down upon others. That take was a test and i didn't fail in it because i had already learned from similar mistake in real life.

Watched Falling for Innocence - for tomorrow. not gonna anything good.

Hello dearest Beanies,
how have you all been doing? I’ve been away from kdramaland for almost a year due to opening my own restaurant and I’ve missed it and Dramabeans so much. Now that my restaurant has settled and we hired more people I finally have more time for myself. Can you imagine how heartwarming it felt to start watching k-dramas again? I thought I wouldn’t be able to feel the same but everything that I loved about k-dramas rushed back the moment I pressed play button. Many of you asked about the name of my restaurant, so you could come by if you happened to be in Prague. I won’t write it here but if anybody’s really coming to Prague, let me know so we can meet! I’ve only met one Beanie in real life before, when she was staying here as an exchange student.

I think I happened to pick two great dramas as my comeback to k-dramaland. The first one was Dazzling (The Light In Your Eyes) which left me with swollen eyes, wistful, sad, and melancholic for many days after the last episode. The second drama I picked was Weightlifting Fairy KBJ which I ignored for three years even though I knew everyone loved and cherished the drama. Although I’m not that old (32), it’s been years since I watched a romantic high-school or college drama. I guess since I became a mother, I started picking dramas with characters in their 30s and 40s more. I still have one WFKBJ episode left to watch and I’m praying the drama stays as wonderful as it’s been so far.

Beautiful Love Wonderful Life is getting better and better. How does Kim Jae Young cope? Acting in BLWL at the same time as Secret Boutique. Guess it helps that he plays a similar character in both dramas. Prefer the Jun Hwi-Cheong Ah OTP though.
Think BLWL is a really well written drama and pacing is great - no unnecessary filler scenes so far & there’s a consistency about the characters that’s often sadly lacking in many dramas. No lazy writing here. It’s a pity that the the first couple of episodes were kind of dark/sad so it’s lost a lot of potential audience but I would recommend beanies give it a try - it’s sadly underrated.

Is anyone watching Extraordinary You? The latest episode was very good, compared to the bland ones in the past few weeks.

SPOILERS

So am I to understand that Danoh died because Baek Kyung lifted her oxygen mask? That was one heck of a powerful scene there. I almost teared watching Baek Kyung's conflict. The same conflict reflected on his face when he grasped Haru's wrist, and drove that sword into Danoh. He was forced to kill her then, even though he loved her...is that what that scene was about?

So the final scene has Danoh unaware of who Haru is. She is back to being an extra, mindless and happy. It was horrible to watch...I thought that was a poignant and painful moment, especially from Haru's point of view. I thought this was a solid episode, and I hope next week we'll have a good finale. I was bored out of my mind with the bland fillers in the past few episodes.

But he did lift her oxygen mask. For a minute she stopped breathing properly. Did it contribute to her crash later on? I think it did, and it's so, so sad that he was crying when he lifted her mask...he fully intended to kill her like he did in the past. What an incredibly flawed character, and so beautifully portrayed by the actor, he made me weep for his pain. This show has flaws, but in its best moments, it's just moving.

@yyishere
Okay, I finished the episode, and I am an emotional mess.

SPOILERS
I agree with @bluewaters20. Dan-Oh died in the Shadow, because it was bound to happen anytime. I do think that Kyung attempted to kill her, to take away her self-awareness. But at the same time he struggled to go through with it, and then he realized what he had done in the flower manhwa. Kudos to Lee Jae-Wook, what a powerful scene indeed.

It would be very in character of Kyung to use unaware Dan-Oh to his advantage in the next episode, and while I dread watching that play out, I am even more afraid of the alternative. Kyung seemed quite unhinged to me as he left Dan-Oh’s room, and I do not know what to make of that. I hope he will not harm himself or others in that state.

Also, his brother gives me Writer vibes.

Required fields are marked *

I am full of desperate hope that Kyung NOT yanking the oxygen mask means that, while he'll be initially pleased at her memory loss, he may also realize that he'll always know that REAL Dan oh doesn't love him in the same way... and so is it worth it to have a shell of a stage character love you if you know at your core it's not sincere?

The Writer's got to make an appearance somehow, no? Or come the finale are they just going to hard reset and start this dance over from the beginning in a new manhwa? *flails*

The scene where she floats in unaware of Haru means she died, I think. Her shadow self died. But it's so sad that Kyung will now get a wooden character, and not the flesh and blood girl he got to know. Past Haru hurts me more than Present Haru. I feel his pain more, I'm not sure why. Why? Is it because I get to see his hawt forehead? It talks to me. It says, I'm so hot.

Ah. I'm so glad it affected you as much as it did me. I thought Baek Kyung's tears were one of the best, the most powerful scenes ever, in Korean drama. It broke my heart. The pain on his face, the noisy sobs, were just so heartwrenching. Even in that flash of a second, in the past, the panning to his face, the rawness of his pain took my breath away. I notice that he was given a lot of screen time in this episode - testament to his incredible acting, and to the adulation of viewers? But I was moved by Haru's anguish too...he delivered in that sword thrust scene - his wailing shattered me.

Not only did it break my heart, it gave me a tiny panic attack, because he was harming himself along with Dan-Oh in many ways. Those two are supposed to snark at the world and each other 24/7, not this.

He switched her medicine, I think, wasn't that candies with the magical spell that he used give her as a child in that pink container? So it seems like when she asked for her medicine he instead gave her candy from that pink container at the nurse office.

Oh, God. Did he? Then it's even more horrible, that he had already made up his mind to kill her shadow self. I know some will despise him more for it, but to me, Kyung is such a fascinating character, with so much darkness and depth...and this episode showcased his character, flawed, but so tragically human.

Hello Beanies...hope everyone's doing well:-) this week i was just trying to settle into my new job (week2), there was lots happening, and LOL it almost seemed to me like my gap year never happened...i did go back to something familiar to my previous job, so this has both pros and cons...so, i didn't get time to watch any kdramas:-( i'm behind on all the shows now:-(....nevertheless i managed to finish watching Untamed (ep23-50) this week...and i have no words for it...it's so surreal to me, until August 2019 i never watched any Chinese dramas in its entirety and now, the only two C-dramas that i watched in its entirety have become my all time favourites (Untamed and The Longest Day)...to be honest, right now i don't feel like moving on from Untamed...after the show ended, i was on youtube looking at the behind the scenes videos and other videos of the various actors, their music videos, and more i watched i realized how fantastic the main leads and the supporting cast were, coz (and i did not actively realize this previously that) most of them are young men/idols who are part of the current pop culture and in this show they were so into their characters and played their characters so well...does anyone know where can i get to read the book in English...preferably legally...also, does anyone know if the animated series is available in english somewhere....i loved the story, the various family/friendship dynamics, the characters, everything about it...this show had good music and i loved the title song, though i'm not sure if i understood the lyrics correctly and/or maybe the translation was odd/off, but the song itself sounds so good...i think i can go on and on about Untamed right now but i'm more tempted to look at the behind the scene videos on youtube so i'm off there now:-) take care and have a good weekend ahead:-)...and because i have no one else say this to who would remotely care that i even said it (translation: i know no one in my life who watches kdramas or cdramas), so i write this here on DB that i loved especially the character of Lan Wangji:-) is he even better in the book or the show made him this good?

I have been totally sucked into The Untamed world - rewatched the drama, 2nd watch was even more amazing. If you have not, just try it. And I am someone who never rewatch a drama until now. Then you have the absolutely cute and hilarious BTS, interviews and so forth. Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo are entertaining beyond words. The rest of the cast are talented as well.

I have not read the entire novel but I believe if you do, you will be impressed with how Xiao Zhan and WYB brought their characters to life. We can't ask for more. Even die hard fans of the novel who were initially sceptical of the adaptation were bowled over by Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo

WYB who plays LWJ is my fave, I think he did a stunning job in delivering all the emotions that LWJ had beneath that stoic surface. I always find Lan Wangji's description in the novel kind of over the top - in terms of beauty, dignified presence and bearing yet WYB nailed it.

Quick warning, the extra chapters of the novel have some very explicit scenes and if this is not your cup of tea, I suggest skipping them.

Welcome to the Beanies Untameables! A bunch of us have been spamming the fanwall for the last few months with images, gifs, and videos if you are interested.

And Lan Wangji is basically the same in the book vs the drama. The big difference is he is more aggressive towards pursuing Wei Wuxian (which of course had to be censored out).

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

It's actually 10 minutes away from Saturday in my country but I waited for this thread to let out my thoughts and ask for some advice.

I have a troubled friend. I don't really want to say that he's depressed but he constantly shares sad posts on social media, about being alone and wanting to be gone. Whenever we talk, it's always about him not being wanted. He's been my friend for two years and we are part of the same friend group but lately he's been isolating himself from us. Of course, we try our best to reach out to him. I try my best to cheer him up and give him encouraging words. I always do.

But sometimes it could just get exhausting talking to him and admitting this is making me feel guilty.

I know that I won't be able to handle a person when he or she is at his or her very worst but it bothers me to turn a blind eye to someone who clearly needs help, especially if that someone is dear to me. Then again, while I'm busy saving other people who are falling apart, who's going to save me? It's hard taking care of yourself when there's nothing left for you since you gave it all to someone else in need of help.

Yesterday, he thanked me for pulling him up. He thanked me for making him realize that the people who truly appreciate him are just in front of him. He thanked me for not giving up on him.

It warms my heart that I know I helped a person but deep inside I still fill empty. It's also not helping I've dropped all the kdramas I was watching before because school is that demanding. ☹️

I hope your semester is ending soon so you will have some time to do things that you enjoy! Please don't feel guilty about taking care of yourself first - kind of like on airplanes where they tell you to put the air mask on yourself first before you help someone else - you need to be ok, especially when you are offering strong support to someone else. Don't feel guilty about feeling drained by another person or maybe not wanting to invest so much time and emotion, those are quite reasonable feelings! In the long run it is that person's own life, and they are the only person that can make things change. *hugs*

Can he be encouraged to seek help? Often schools have a Counseling Dept as part of their Medical Services, so that might be an option. He sounds quite depressed to me and probably needs more help than a friend can offer. Plus, it is important that you take care of your own mental and physical health first. Please don't feel guilty about not being able to help him more.

Kdrama things I've enjoyed this week:
1. The fart song in Melo is my Nature
2. All the cuteness and Jang Dong Yoon pretiness in the Tale of Nokdu
3. Every secondary character in the Tale of Nokdu, except Nokdu's brother (sorry, bro, don't like your eyeshadow, don't buy your character's motivations)
4. The bathtub (no)kiss in Empress Ki. Very much in favour of TaWan's/Ji Chang Wook's personal hygiene. This drama seems to value hygiene too, because every other episode there's somebody having a bath, kakaka

Kdrama things that broke my heart this week:
1. My Country, eps. 10-12. Come on Show, you are unrelenting! Pleasepleaseplease give Seung Ho at least one happy moment

Kdrama things that left me indifferent this week:
1. The triple pregnancy combo in Empress Ki. I didn't watch further, but it just looks too makjang-y to me. Besides, I hate it that Nyang is pregnant and locked up instead of spending her time out in the world kicking ass

I believe that Nokdu's brother is on Nokdu's side and is working from within to monitor and ultimately foil any plan to kill his brother.

Off to my mom's this weekend to binge watch Extraordinary You, Tale of Nokdu and Vagabond. Not as thrilled about Vagabond but I am really liking Nokdu and EY (especially EY).

I've been in a bit of a drama slump these past few weeks. Except for what I'm watching with my mom every other weekend, I've not really been in the mood to watch anything. I have a few dramas I'm in the middle of watching and even if I was liking them, I've just not felt the urge to watch. So currently the only drama I'm currently watching is Love and Destiny. I'm about 20 episodes in and I'm quite liking it. Definitely gives me 10 Miles of Peach Blossom vibes, but it's still its own and unique drama (though I sometimes need to remind myself to not compare the 2). Ni Ni is just great as the innocent and cute Ling Xi. She is perfectly able to convey her innocent, kind and sweet personality. She could have easily come across as annoying but Ni Ni manages to make her lovable. It took me longer to warm up to Chang Chen mostly because I'm shallow and don't find him attractive and he seems so old, especially compared to Ni Ni (there is a 12 year difference). But I've slowly warmed up to him and his character. He's a good actor and seems to have good chemistry with Ni Ni, so I am able to ignore my shallowness (I would prefer an unattractive good actor over an attractive bad actor).

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! ❤️

Rewatched part of the HBO series Rome, and besides liking it (of course), I'm suffering from cross-genre contamination. I keep picturing Jang Hyuk / Yi Ban-won in Rome. Also Caesar / Mark Antony / Attia in any kdrama :)

There is a report that KBS Entertainment Weekly program will be ending after 36 years. It was a good entertainment news program; it had good interviews with actors and idols, but it also tackled deep social issues and crime stories.

Hello there!
Tune in for Love (Korean movie) is a refreshing retro slice of life with our adorable Jung Hae-In and Kim Go-Eun. They’re good together. Hae-In as Hyun-Woo is one of those “if it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have any” kind of guys, but there’s a little twist ending. Ahhhh~

Chief of Staff season 2 is back on Netflix. A double dose of politics for politics sake, but I like Shin Mina and Lee Jung-jae, In fact its a whole staff of big-name actors.

My Country – royal and royal minion bloodshed is the name of the game, but Jang Hyuk is just so watchable!

VIP – can’t wait for captions for eps 5 and 6 soon!

Radio Star – this week was super entertaining in an off-the-wall sort of way. First of all, Solbi shined as she highlighted her participation in a Paris art show as the only Korean and 1 of 30 selected artists. Wow, that’s huge. Good to see her success. Then there was Dawn, aka HyunA’s boyfriend, who was awkwardly charming. It was a fun episode.

When the Camellia Blooms – Kim Ji-Seok as Jong-Ryeol has perfected the role of big jerk (remember him in Personal Taste?) No one ever wants to do the hard work of transformation; it’s a world of excuses and blame out there. I’ve only seen up to ep 14. (Check out Happy TOgether this week - the host cast is dressed up as Camellia characters.)

I love King of Masked Singer. Who could have predicted its success? And who is our bedazzling Handsome Guy?

Happy weekend beanies!

Hi all:
Is it me but have jdramas become more pervy and nihilistic...ya know....than usual?
A really nice day today. Only around 36. Tomorrow is supposed to be bitterly cold. So i made sure i went outside.

Dramas:
Extraordinary You: I want an extraordinary ending. Nothing tropey but it must feel satisfactory and organic. I don't know why the writer is so mean. Either he/she is obsessive or emotionally stuck with issues or just plain into tropes and uncreative.
Miss Lee: Such a great drama. And i have now got a new crush.
Pegasus Market -- Poignant episode last week
My Country -- Am kinda missing the villain. But am staying for Bang Won.
VIP -- Tried to jump back in but was hopelessly confused. Will have to rewatch the last episode from last "season."
In addition to kdramas, am watching Junichi, In love with an ugly girl, Tune in for Love, and Stranded (a Thai drama), on Netflix and about to start You and I on the G String (jdrama) Chocolate (Korean.) Awaiting tons of Chinese dramas including Oath of Love.
Have a great weekend, all.

I agree on miss lee! it really deserves more audience imho and yet i do understand that seeing people going through a what seem an endless dark tunnel could be hard to watch. I must say it was hard for me to watch the remaining Cheongil Electronics staff going through the hardships but i guess it was needed for them to reboot themselves.
The finale this week is greatly satisfying. It wasn't rushed. Everything just unfold by itself. Karma was bound to hit those who were against Cheongil and its so satisfying to see their downfall.
All of the cast did great in the drama. (Was so refreshing to watch a drama without a love line in the way tho we unexpectedly did get a bit of with kim hana and myung inho hehe)

HI All, I am not a DB registered member but i come here a lot to read recaps of shows i watched. I just recently got hooked on Kdrama the beginning of this year.

Just wondering why there isn't Script reading post or stills from Lee Min HO and Kim Go eun new Drama "The King: The Eternal Monarch".

Im Just curious as it is a highly anticipated drama, and i don't see a lot of update/script reading post like other dramas.

Thank you All. I have been enjoying DB and will be register member soon!

Happy happy happy weekend Beanies! I've been binging through Arsenal Military Academy and while I, admittedly, ffw through a lot of the politicking plotishness, watching Xiang's antics as a woman in drag in an all-men's situation makes me want to rewatch She's the Man with Amanda Bynes.

Seems like I haven’t been on DB for years — but probably just a month passed.

What happened this past month? I enjoyed “My Private Life”. I flew to Taiwan for a Yeo Jin Goo fan meeting. OMG he’s a walking David IRL — sculptural features, flawless porcelain skin, and broad built shoulders. Had a short chance to speak to him at fan meeting and the next day at the airport. He is just too adorable. How well this little oppa has grown up.

Then I chained my feet to a desk for 2 weeks and worked extra hard to keep my mind from temptations to see him again (his fan meeting tour has 2 more stops). I think I’ve successfully suppressed the desire now.

Now off to find a drama with some crack. Any leads?

I currently have time to watch only 2 dramas at the most..I'm obsessed with Tale of Nokdu<3<3 and rewatching Solomon's Perjury (korean version) for a second time, years after I last watched it when it aired.
I did watch the first few episodes of Extraordinary you and liked it but was losing interest a little, so discontinued for now. Maybe I'll binge watch it later when I've time.
I'm busy preparing for my job exams so I don't think I'll add any other drama to watch after Nokdu ends. Hopefully next year will bring a new crop of dramas that can successfully hold my interest till the end.
