Kyung Su-jin confronts Yoon Shi-yoon in latest stills for OCN drama Train

OCN’s Train just released a set of intriguing stills featuring Yoon Shi-yoon (Psychopath Diary). In this upcoming drama, a single choice creates two parallel universes, and Yoon stars as a police investigator who crosses between both worlds, pursuing a murder case in order to protect his loved one.

In one universe, Yoon is a police investigator who chooses to repent for his father’s sins. In the other universe, Yoon is a police investigator who chooses to live a risky, corrupt life due to his father’s sins. Kyung Su-jin (Joseon Survival Guide) plays a prosecutor who learns the truth about Yoon’s father’s case and connects the dots to pursue a greater truth. In one world, her character wins at life through love, but in the other world, she survives only because of her hatred.

The still above shows the jail cell meeting between the repentful Yoon from one universe and the hateful Kyung from the other universe. Production staff said, “Yoon Shi-yoon and Kyung Su-jin were completely immersed in every scene, and their emotional acting had everyone watching admiringly.”

Alternate universe mystery drama Train, written by Park Ga-yeon and co-directed by Ryu Seung-jin and Lee Seung-hoon, will begin airing on OCN July 11.

Whether its great acting or makeup or both, someone deserves admiration -- even in other serious roles like in Grand Prince or Nokdu Flower, the stills show YSY with a more character-etched face than I have seen before (I know he is obviously older, but not that much older...)

@diana-hansen,

Good riddance to the poodle look in PSYCHOPATH DIARY. I say this as a person with natural-born curls.

(Aside: Have you ever noticed how many allegedly financially-strapped characters have permanent waves and dyed hair to go with the latest handphones?!)

As for looking beat down to his socks, he's a detective. We all know that Korean coppers are marathon runners in disguise as they pursue absconding suspects on foot over hill and dale and through rabbit warrens of alleyways. ;-)

so true! on the hair NO ONE needs that poodle do EVER again! then what shows up in The Soul Repairer? THAT HAIR on the "i wanna be president" doctor! indeed on the running! its all a way to get decent marathoners trained.

I kinda liked it! I think they were going for a Spike Speigel look and they totally nailed it. thought he was cutest in Grand Prince in the scenes where he has his struggle beard, and I hate beards. Generally speaking, he's cutest with his natural color and a short cut.

I enjoyed OCN's TEAM BULLDOG and definitely will slide over to watch one of my favorites Yoon Shi-yoon in OCN's TRAIN (Viki).

You know since alternate universes are part of the story, I would love to see in that first pic the alternate universe where Kyung Soo-jin has that same hold on the ML from JOSEON SURVIVAL whose name I don't even want to type. It was just about a year ago that that things went to hell for JS. There were a few of us here enjoying it at the time.

Thank you for the TRAIN update, @tineybeanie. I'm really looking forward to Yoon Si-yoon's next drama. While I've had my fill of serial killers, I'll bite the bullet and tune in for one of my favorite actors. Although it's not exactly time travel, I'm reminded a bit of the excellent film TIME AFTER TIME (1979) in which H. G. Wells pursues Jack the Ripper in his time machine.

Another show in which "a single choice creates two parallel universes." Hmmm. Did Sohyeon Seja live to reign in this dramaverse, too, by any chance?!

As for travel between universes, will YSY be borrowing Maximus from Lee Min-ho? ;-) Or will he be commuting via the A Train? Or maybe The Chattanooga Choo Choo? The City of New Orleans? The Wabash Cannonball? A Downtown Train? The Last Train to Clarksville? As long as it's not that wacky subway from TOMORROW WITH YOU. ;-)

Fingers crossed that TRAIN takes us on a memorable, action-packed ride. The OCN productions I've seen haven't horsed around, so that bodes well for a gripping excursion, with minimal folderol and little likelihood of romance. With only 12 episodes, it may feel like we're on the KTX. All aboard! ;-)
