Finger-tapping anticipation in new Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol teaser

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol has unveiled a cute new teaser, showing a meeting between Lee Jae-wook (I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day) and Go Ara (Haechi). This rom-com drama will tell the sweet story of the people surrounding a small village piano academy. They each have their own hidden emotional scars, but music will bring them together to heal.

Go Ara plays an energetic, optimistic pianist whose life took a complete left turn recently. Lee Jae-wook plays a carefree soul, who is a master part-timer.

In the teaser, a jazzed up version of Mozart’s 12 variations on “Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman” plays in the background while Lee Jae-wook drinks an iced Americano at a cafe. Impatiently, he taps his fingers and wriggles his leg in anticipation for his partner to arrive. Go Ara taps her fingers excitedly as she walks up a red carpet staircase to meet him. The mood is so obviously first date.

She knocks against his table, signaling her arrival. With a bright smile, she shyly asks hims, “Why did you wait for me?” Her mood quickly changes from romantic to completely dumbfounded when he gives an unexpected answer, “I’m here to collect my money.” He makes the universal sign for coin, and she tilts her head in confusion.

Kyaah~! I love cute fluffy rom-coms, and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol looks like it’ll just hit that sweet spot. And with writer Oh Ji-young from Shopping King Louis onboard, I have faith that the characters will be absolutely darling.

Wednesday-Thursday drama Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, directed by Kim Min-kyung (Matrimonial Chaos) and written by Oh Ji-young (Shopping King Louis), will begin airing on August 26.

For some reason, I thought this was premiering August 10th. So now I'm sad it'll be longer... lol.

Interesting to note that it seems like this will be directly competing with Park Eun Bin and Kim Min Jae's also musically-theme drama on SBS. Though I definitely expect this to be more of a comedy and that to be more melo.

I think they'll both be the same genre by the end!

Whether it's robots or serial killers, time travelers or aliens, pianists or teachers at corrupt private schools, fearless journalists or newbie politicians, I notice more and more how similar-themed dramas air at the same time. It makes me wonder if they result from contests or school assignments or backroom intrigue. It happens too often to be coincidence.

The last time I saw Go Ara was in Hwarang and I didn't really enjoy her acting there but I did in Reply 1994 so I'm indifferent on how I'll view her character in this one. However, I absolutely adored LJW in I'll Find You on a Beautiful Day so I'll probably give it a try for him.

Overall, though, I am incredibly excited for the rom-com aspect and knowing that the SKL writer is working on this drama makes me anticipate it even more!

I'm not a big fan of Go Ara, I really only liked her in Ms. Hammurabi... But LWJ is such a great scene stealer I really want to see his first leading role.

Yeah, me neither. I have very mixed feelings toward her works because they're always either a hit or miss (and honestly, more often than not I find it being a miss). Like you, LJW being in this drama is the biggest motivation for me wanting to watch it. I'm really hoping that once it gets started, there'll be more reasons to continue watching.

I really like the writter and stories about classical music. I'm happy that LJW got his first lead role, he's really a good actor. Now, I'm not a fan of GA and really not a fan of her haircut for this drama (I think her eyes's color stands out more with dark hair), but she's never completely bad neither.

sO ..... i cannot really say i hate the hero but..i kinda developed this 'unliking' towards him in the drama EXTRAORDINARY YOU lmao ... i do hope that i will enjoy this drama and not let the personal feelings take away the good the drama might possess

I saw him for the first time in WWW and I loved him there, then I saw him in extraordinary you and hated him there, then I saw him in I will find you when the weather is nice and loved him again... what can I tell you? He has this face and aura that you can either love or hate depending of the character he is playing, just like Shin Sung rok, and that makes him a good actor, really. I want to watch him here again to see how he improves...
He is not super mega handsome, but he doesn't look bad either.
I hope Go Ara can make a likeable FL.

I've just watched SHOPPING KING LOUIE, for the first time ever, and the writer really had a knack for flipping cliches on their head. So I'm hopeful for this one.

I also enjoyed the small town vibe of I'LL FIND YOU ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY, and of course, bubbly Lee Jae-wook. While that drama failed to live up to its musical promise, I'm hopeful this one will set things right.

I think I'm going to call this drama the DoDo drama though... or the Mozart drama. It will be interesting if it turns out to be a fluffy romp, competing with the more heavyweight Brahms drama.😁

I really like LJW, among my favourites from the young crop of actors, so will definitely give this a try. But I'm rather unimpressed with Go Ara's styling. It seems to be focussed on making her look much younger, almost school-girlish - something that nobody bothers to do when the MLs are much older than the FLs 🙄

Female leads in Kdramas can't age! Don't you know that, lol.

Seriously though, Go Ara's looks as young as ever and LJW is well known for looking older than he is, so the overcompensation is unnecessary. I do think some of the styling make be due to her character being described as a "princess" though.

Lol you're right, how could I forget 🤦‍♀️
And yes you're right about Go Ara looking naturally younger/ LJW looking naturally older. Let's hope the styling is truly a character choice 🤞

Oh gods im rly rly rly excited to see LJW do his thing again!!!

I loved how his face expression changed from that of delight to FYI when he looked up to FL. So glad he finally got his first lead role!

As for GA, I rly didnt like her in Black. So hopefully I could connect with her here. I want to enjoy this drama so much my heart hurts.

This teaser kinda put my spirit down to watch the drama. The "candy" type of lead female character isn't something I can handle. That kind of character always make me drop a drama doesn't matter how good the actors are. I just hope this one won't go that way.

After having finished I'll Find You on a Beautiful Day, I think I'm in for anything LJW. I think he made that role charming, the same quality shared by Kim Ji-seok.
